This thread serves as a place to discuss speculation, and then reaction to the 03/11/12 episode.
Looks like Herschel has decided to let the group move into the house with his family. Randall escapes and it looks like the group has to go after him to make sure he doesn't bring his group back. Or it is someone/something else that is lurking in the wood posing a threat to the group? Only two episodes left in the season!

-
I was thinking, what if AMC put out that accidental spoiler regarding Shane to throw us off and that it isn't actually true?0

Did not expect the stabbing, knew Carl would shoot him just thought it would happen sooner then It did. Pretty good episode. Excited to see how they fare with the horde of zombies. Any bets on who dies next? My money is on T-dog0

Yep, he is completely pointless to the show, but I hope it's Carol. Also pointless.
I know that the show is called The Walking Dead and that is in reference to the non-zombified living people, but can I get some more zombies in the episode and not just in the last 5 minutes (though they did an okay job setting up the season finale)?
The one thing I did like about this episode was the Office Space zombie kicking moment before the credits. Hilarious!
I thought they would hold off on Shane until the finale; they're going to need him when the horde arrives. I knew they were going to have to kill him off as soon as Laurie took the pregnancy test... there was no way he would just abandon Laurie and Carl and his potential unborn baby. Still sad to see him go... he was pretty much my only eye candy.
Somebody please kill Carl or at least keep an eye on him. Dale's death was his fault. The zombie herd is his fault for using the gun on Shane. He is just fail all around.0 -
Didn't anyone notice that Randall came back as a zombie and went after Glen and Darryl? Randall's neck was snapped by Shane, he wasn't bitten at all. Shane came back and he wasn't bitten, either. I'm also pretty sad that Shane is gone. He kept the show exciting. Now I don't really have a favorite character. Andrea probably, or Glen or Darryl.0

Yes, but not sure what it means yet. I'm waiting for the Carrie-hand-pop-out-of-the-ground moment when Dale comes back as a zombie (is he the only one that died as a human in this season?). That is, if everyone that dies comes back as a walker no matter if they were bitten or not. That should have been what Jenner told Rick at the end of last season, though Rick hasn't acted like he's known that at all this season.0 -

They shot Dale in the head, so no chance of The Zombie Dale being a problem.0 -

Thank goodness I don't have to stare at his gaping open mouth anymore, though Shane was threatening to succeed Dale as resident cotton mouth this episode.0 -
It must mean that everyone is infected or something, and when they die, they come back somehow, but if shot in the head the first time, they dont. It looks like they'll have to be leaving the farm soon!0
-
Yea, I'm getting that everyone is infected...either through contact or air or in the water supply or whatever. And unless you die by something going through your brain like Dale, you're gonna come back a walker.
Shane freaked me out. It's like he totally lost it. It was NOT a well thought out plan. I kept saying, what the hell is he thinking?
And the scene where Rick had to kill Shane happened SO CLOSE to the house. I thought they were way out, but you could see the house in the background. Weird. That makes all those walkers descending really scary. And if Shane had been hoarding ammo like Lizzy thought, they may not be able to find enough ammo to kill them all off.0 -

I think that could still be what Jenner whispered in Ricks ear. If you noticed when they were in the bar in town after Rick killed those 2 dudes he also shot them both in the head so they wouldn't come back. Shane came back very quickly though and maybe Rick wasn't expecting it to happen that fast and he just hadn't gotten around to it yet.0 -

All I gotta say is this group is now officially screwed. Shane was the only character with the balls to do what needed to be done, and his last move (killing the kid after the kid admitted he knew where the other group was and was a member) was right on again...0

Rick is a wimp, and he's getting on my last nerve with the "let's just save all the people" attitude.0 -
I've been wondering for some time now how they didn't all get infected with all the blood splatter. They foreshadowed something like this with those officer guys the day Shane and Rick went after each other over the kid. Shane was right to kill that kid, much as it pains me to admit it, but stupid for lying about it the way he did. He can't lie worth crap, and no one believes him anymore anyway, after he shot Otis.
I hate that Rick had to kill him, but what Shane said to Rick was kinda true, about Rick being a crappy father. I'm glad Carl shot the walker, though it was obvious it was his father he first aimed at, cause walker Shane hadn't risen when Carl first lifted the gun. I think Shane's quick rising was because of how corrupt his brain already was.
Whoever said it was Carl's fault all those walkers we're in the woods is wrong, though. I mean, yeah, he drew their attention, and I'd like him to be beat for getting Dale killed last week, but they were already there, that close to the house. They'd been seeing more and more anyway; they even made the comment about the cattle being a flashing neon sign advertising free dinners for the walkers.
As far as the next death... I'm thinking one of Hershel's girls, or him. Probably the one Glen likes. It's not much of an impact if someone you don't like dies, so why bother killing Carol or T-Dog when neither have really done anything of note so far anyway? Save them for sacrificial lambs next season. Kill off the chick who is liked by everyone, and would crush Hershel, the sister, AND Glen.
In the end, though, I'm glad Shane is dead, and that Rick did it. It leaves all kinds of possibilities for angst with Rick, Lori, and Carl in the future. And, please, bring Otis to the farm as a walker! I really wish they'd made Shane face him as a walker before he was killed.
I'm so ready for next week. I sure hope Darryl's brother doesn't show up with that gang...0 -
Yes. I'm sorry but Rick is being a wussy. And that's not the word I really want to use. He needs to man up.
Pretty sure he "manned-up" when he shoved that knife in his best friend's gut.0 -
I'm not happy seeing Shane die for two reasons:
1. All the other characters are so annoying, I may stop watching the show (except Darryl).
2. Shane was hot. Nice eye candy gone... sad...0 -

Not really. He had to, or he'd die. He wussed out on the kid by not shooting him multiple times. He also wussed out on Dale in the last episode. Not to mention the other bazillion times Rick "just couldn't" do something then got all high-n-mighty on everyone else. Rick is annoying beyond belief.0 -
A few things: OMG T-DOG WAS SEEN LONGER THAN 30 SECONDS AND HAD MORE THAN 2 LINES! lol
Lori finally came clean with Shane and pretty much admitted that he was never the bad guy and without him her and Carl both would be dead in ATL somewhere. What her and Shane had was real and she knew that. When Rick showed up, of course her guilt took over. At least she sorta cleared the air with that speech of hers.
I still hate Rick's face. At least now Shane can come back as a walker. Too bad he didn't have a chance to eat Rick's face.0 -

@T-Dog: LOL I know right!
@Lori: I have begun to dislike Lori much less now, though as soon as she gave that shpiel, I knew they were going to kill Shane in this episode or the next.
@Rick: Yeah, Rick is such a friggin' boyscout. His face is annoying to me too. He tries to be all "manly" and take charge, but he sucks at it.0 -

Ladies while Rick is a weenie. I could wake up to that grimy face every day.:blushing:0

LOL I would wake up next to Darryl. If they kill him, there better be some replacement eye candy or I give up.0
