3/25 2.5 miles - run at the park

3/27 5.4 miles - trail run - omg crazy story! see below...

    3/30
    3/31

    Total 11.3 miles

I was running in the woods along a pretty heavily used trail and I saw a racoon in broad daylight! He stayed on the trail even after he saw me. First he started to run off down the trail, then he turned and held his ground as I jogged toward him! Rabies is common around here so I got kind of scared. I backed up several feet, waved my hands, and made lots of clucking and shooing noises at him. Finally he sloooowly walked about ten feet off the path. I sprinted past and then kept checking behind me to make sure I wasn't being followed by a crazed rabid racoon!

Later I ran through a field and was startled by a herd of deer. Some of them stepped into the woods, most just stood 50 feet away and stared at me. Usually I like seeing wildlife but this was a little ridiculous.

LOL, sounds like you have had a rough one, glad you made it out rabies free!!! Great job on the miles!!!!

Thanks! And I would love if the raccoons would make breakfast but only if the did the dishes too. They don't come in the house though, they prefer my husband's work truck- every day you can go out and find new little prints on the doors of his truck. Our attic is full of all kinds of stuff; we hear squirrels fighting day and night, tiny little scratchy feet that I'm guessing are mice. The warm snap back in January brought out a big brown bat that I'm thinking was hibernating up there too but he only got onto the enclosed porch, not in the house. I was on the treadmill one morning several weeks ago and the big dog cornered a mouse under the changing table that then got away, circled the dining room, made a mad dash diagonally across the room straight for the treadmill and went under it. I was hopping and jumping around like it was actually going to do something to me! lol- it was just a little mouse! Saturday afternoon my two year old spotted a baby black rat sunning itself on top of a decoy my husband carved. It took DH a few minutes to figure out why he was asking "go say hi neek?" The kid is fascinated by snakes and is great at finding them. We also have a BIG black rat snake that hangs out in our basement in the summers, we find the skins in the rafters. And no, we are not overly thrilled with the wildlife in the house but there's not much we can do. It's free housing through my work in an old house in the middle of the woods that's starting to deteriorate rapidly and they refuse to fix but we are starting to look for a place to buy for ourselves! Hopefully soon we'll be living squirrel free!!

    Sunday- rest
    Monday- 0
    Tuesday- 4.5
    Wednesday- 6.5
    Thursday- 3.25

Just joined the group. Need somewhere to celebrate my new love of running!!!!

I was so inspired by my longest run yesterday that I signed up for a 12K in October!

Sunday - 3 miles walking with stroller
    Monday - off (kettlebell workout)
Tuesday - 3.25 miles running plus .5 walking
Wednesday - 2 miles walking (with hubs and son!) + kettlebells
Thursday - 4 miles running plus .5 walking

13.25 (WOW - and I still have to run on Saturday - I don't usually go on the walks, so that added some, and I had my 2 longest runs to date - 3.25 and then 4!)
