Nothing new here. Work put the scale back out, but they put it in the ladies bathroom and I don't know if the floor is unlevel or what, but it does not give an accurate reading anymore. I've just been using my scale at home and it is pretty much in line with my MW's office scale so I'll just use that going forward. For the most part, my home scale and work scale were the same - my house scale only gives whole #s. Hoping the weather gets warmer here over the next couple of weeks so I can get out walking. We've been lucky to get a few warmer (50s) days here and there, but they don't stick around for more than a day at a time. Everyone is still doing an awesome job. Congrats on the new babies and weightloss success so far!!!!

I am sorry, to me 50 degrees is cold! I didnt start going back out and walking until it got to the 60s (about a month ago) and I still wore a jacket. It has been 70s all this week and last, hoping we hit 80 next week, then I can say it is warm! :)

I have been doing a better job of resisting checking the scale each morning. I am trying to not worry about my weight gain so much, especially as it really isn't so bad. I was a bit sad this morning to see that I am only 2lbs away from my all time highest weight. I started on MFP at my highest and managed to lose a few before getting pregnant, and I am almost back there and sure to go higher.

But, as I said, I am not going to stress it. Weigh in, call the scale a name or two and go eat and move on! :p

Yikes! I hadn't weighed in a while. I just started being consistent with exercise this week and realized I was seriously eating way over maintenance, so I'm hoping the number will either drop a tad or stop increasing for a while! lol My last pregnancy, I was up 7 lbs at this point, but then started gaining 2 pounds a week until the 3rd trimester and ended up with a 45lb gain (183 the day I delivered). So I'm hopeful that it will all balance out in the end if I can stick to only gaining a pound a week or less from here on out! The goal is to be really active and try to stay between 180-185 for delivery! :)

GOAL: Only gain 25 Lbs during pregnancy.

Did really well last week and only gained a little over half a lb. This week I gained 2. But I ate a lot of heavy foods yesterday and had a lot of gluten free brownies this past week. I'm hoping to slow the gain down again this week. My goal is to ONLY gain 5 lbs or less this month since my doctors weren't happy with my 9lb gain in between my last two appointments. Gotta get better.

meggwyn: omg I went crazy second pregnancy and like you gained like 2 lbs a week until delivery pretty much. I gained 46 lbs total. I was not thrilled. Here's hoping you'll be more active, but you can always lose it later if you do the same as last time :)

mycrazy8splus: You're doing amazing! So encouraging!

bburg86- I remember getting a stern talking to for gaining 8 lbs one month between visits. 5 lbs a month or less has been my goal too :)

Went away for a long weekend and did quite a bit of walking and we took DD bowling. Had a great time. Not much snacking in between meals and did really well portion wise. Plus, I got a good amount of water in so I think that helped keep me fuller longer.

Jssem89 - You are doing great!

kosman8807 - Not bad. What does your doctor want you to gain?

spunkychelsea - Looks like we are in the same boat this week. Nice job at maintaining. I am really looking forward to getting out and walking once this weather warms up a bit. It's like the never ending winter!!!!

bburg86 - You can totally make your goal of 25lbs at this rate. Awesome job!

It is amazing how different doctors are.
One person mentioned getting chastised for gaining 8lbs in a month, another's doctor doesn't want them gaining an ounce, another's doesn't seemed phased by too much weight gain. My doctor didnt say anything when I gained 12lbs in a month, my sister's doctor got upset when she went over a gain of 20lbs and my best friend's doctor wasn't concerned at all when my friend gained 66lbs total.

I don't think it's that surprising that doctors would offer different recommendations on weight gain (or have various reactions to weight gain) since an individual's recommended weight gain is going to be based on pre-pregnancy BMI.

Congrats Mamas! Feel free to add me. I'm pregnant with my third baby and would love more pregnant and postpartum friends so we can support each other in this weight gain and loss craziness unique to having babies. I try to eat pretty clean and love to cook. I'm not good at avoiding chocolate ;)
