I was going to back out of the 10k on Sunday in Omaha, NE because the other person I was going with decided they were not going to go. Well last night I booked a room, made my grocery and travel list and tonight after work I pack. I am not going to be able to run the whole thing but I haven't total given up on myself. I will still have the challenge posted and email sent with a little help from Nona I hope
Have a great run, Reese!!! (Good for you for not backing out )
Thanks Wiglet . Got everything packed and ready to go, just need to stop in the a.m. and gas up and the I am Omaha bound.0 -

It don't know if it is appropriate to share this here and I have not done this run but I am very familiar with this town and the surrounding area. It is beautiful and Apalach is a cool little town. I noticed yesterday they had extended the sign up deadline and thought I would share it in case any of you more seasoned runners might be interested. All distances medal.

Sun: 6.35mi Run ~ Plaza 10K Time 1:03:57.3. Age pos: 83 of 174(F). Gender pos: 656 of 1450 (Sah weet!). Finish Pos: 1248 of 2289. Changed my RK to tell me my pace at every .25mi... seemed to help me manage to keep my pace fairly even... between that and the fairly flat course... I shaved nearly 5mins from my HHR 10K time! 10:11min/mi., 5.89mph avg. (My only "walk" breaks were the short time it took me to grab water and toss it back at the 2 aid stations)
Mon: 3.12mi Run (slower/easier "recovery" run - ran my neighborhood route w/no stops whatsoever - First time ever! )
Tue: 11mi Cycling
Wed: think a rest day is in order... legs are ti-red!
Thu: 5.22mi Run
Fri: Rest day
Sat: 14.02mi Run [Did my longest run ever this morning. Ran the race route but somehow went over on the mileage. Came in at 14.02mi. The awesome news is that I hit 13.1 miles at 2:41:13.. and that's including time stopped at all the stoplights & the one water station I found on the route... won't have to do that during the race.. so, I'm pretty sure I will be making a new PR at the half next month! (My first half was 2:49:38). So, even with my knee cut wide open (cuz I fell at mi 13.5 due to fatigue and broken sidewalks not mixing well)... I feel pretty excellent right now. ]

Tri was a great experience! 5k was done in 40 min best time ever using run/walk method. The ride they added 2 hills Sat morning. Challenging! Rode the entire distance. The swim was the greatest 6 laps and only 1 15 sec break. The training and the support made the difference!
