Still pregnant.
Jillian couldn't induce labor, so I don't know what can. I did 30 DS yesterday afternoon, walked last night, even bounced (not jumped) on a trampoline this morning with my kiddos at gymnastics. Nothing. Oh well, I will keep trying! I'm really hopeful for this guy to come tonight or tomorrow, but I guess if he's not ready then I will have to wait. How are you ladies?
Also still pregnant (39w5d), dang it. My 1st came at 39w3d... this one's being stubborn. I have SPD, but have been walking despite the pain because I need this booger to come out. LOL.0 -

ZombieSlayer- I'm trying not to lose my mind. This wait is making anxious. I don't have a ton of distractions available either b/c I kept our calendar pretty clear, foolishly assuming we'd have a 3rd child by now! Oh well. DD has camp in the mornings this week and DS is fairly easy to entertain, so I guess we'll figure something out.0
-
Had an u/s this morning and this baby is estimated to weigh 8 lbs 15 oz! I think that is definitely an overestimation b/c my son was 5 days late and he was exactly 8 lbs. I guess we'll see. Dr said she will let me go 2 more weeks if I want but I have to have another u/s next week to make sure he's still okay in there. I let her strip the membranes- hopefully that gets things moving. She also thinks my water will break first, which is kind of horrifying. With my other 2 my water broke in the hospital- I can't imagine being in public and having my water randomly breaking! Going to keep a towel in the car from now on.0

Rosy003,
When is your due date?0 -
Either the 15th or the 17th- (LMP vs dating u/s). I'm timing contractions right now- finally! Hoping tonight is the night!0

Congrats Rosy!! I'm so happy for you!!:flowerforyou:
My little Alice is now 11 days old and I've finally gotten around to writing down her birth story. I apologize that it's so long but I for one love to read birth stories!
We got to the hospital at 7:30 AM the morning of the 10th for my elective induction. (I'm GBS+ and can have fast labors so this was safer for me.) I had been awake since 4-something despite having taken a sleeping pill and was feeling exhausted already. It took two nurses to get a good vein for an IV. The first attempt had me in total tears because it hurt so badly and I was already super tired and overemotional, not really two things you want on the day you're giving birth. At 8:15 we started my first dose of required antibiotics. I was 3 cm, the same as I was at my previous appointment.
At 9:30 I got my epidural and started pitocin at the same time. I warned the anesthesiologist that my BP always plummets when I get my epidural and last time I even blacked out while it was being placed. (That was a HORRIBLE experience.) He decided to not give me a big dose like normal and instead just slowly administered a little bit. The problem with that was it wasn't working very efficiently and I was feeling contractions BADLY! I was numb from my toes to my knees . . . and that was it. At 10:20 he came back and gave me the big dose he had been avoiding to see if that would help it move up more. We figured I was already lying down and hopefully my BP would be fine. At 10:35 my midwife Erica and I decided to turn the pitocin off until we could figure out the epidural issues since I was in way too much pain. AT 10:45 I suddenly felt extremely hot and lightheaded. I knew I was going to black out. After a quick measure of my blood pressure, my midwife hurriedly called extra help into the room. I was aware of everyone around me trying to fix my blood pressure but I didn't care, I was too busy trying to cool myself off and not throw up. It took 3 bags of meds and about 20 minutes for me to feel perfectly normal again, minus the racing heart which is a side effect of the meds they gave me. It was then I found out my BP had been around 55/22. Erica said she didn't totally panic because I was still conscience but she was definitely VERY concerned. As we sat talking, around 11:05 she was watching the baby's monitor and suddenly jumped to her feet. The nurse responded equally quickly by turning me over in bed, and Erica started, as she put it, "giving the baby a little noogie" to make her move. I guess the baby's heart rate had dropped down to the 50's and was staying there! They got the baby to move and everything seemed find again, but her heart rate had been that low for about a minute. Not a fun scare! She was probably laying wrong on her cord they think.
At 11:30 we turned the pitocin back on again (though very low) now that my epidural seemed to be working it's way up my tummy. Erica also broke my water hoping that would induce labor instead of needing a lot of pitocin. No such luck on that front. Breaking my water has never done anything for me. At this point I was 4 cm dialated. I was given more antibiotic around noon, and my pitocin was slowly upped every 15 minutes or so. At 1:55 PM I was 5.5 cm and starting to feel too much pain from contractions again. I upped my epidural dose a few times and switched the side I was laying on, which seemed to fix the problem. At 2:45 I was 6 cm, and everyone started getting things ready for the delivery. In the past I've gone from 4-10 cm in under 2 hours, so we knew I could be fast. Erica and I chatted for a while (she's a friend who used to live on my street.) We were talking about the differences between public and charter schools when the nurse came in at 3:30 and said we should check me. I told her I felt absolutely no need to push, something I always have felt even with an epidural when I'm complete. They checked me anyway and I was shocked to find out I was 10 cm and the baby was at +2 station! Seriously, that epidural was doing it's job for once! In no time, preperations were finished and in about 3 pushes Erica and my husband helped deliver our beautiful baby Alice.
When they placed her on me I thought she seemed big but surely not much bigger than my other kids. She hardly cried to the point that I had to ask if she was even breathing. They assured me she was and everything was fine, she was just taking her time to pink up. When they weighed her I was shocked to find out she was more than a pound bigger than my other 2 girls at 8 lbs 4 oz! Those chubby cheeks of hers suddenly seemed even chubbier. They gave her back to me for a little skin to skin time. She was just the calmest thing ever.

I actually ended up nearly passing out twice more as I tried to use the restroom and the epidural hadn't quite worn off yet but the nurse was there to literally catch me. The rest of my hospital time was hard as well since my hubby had to leave a couple hours later because he had a stomach flu. I hated being alone there for 2 days but my nurses were so kind and helped me a lot. Alice slept pretty much the whole time in the hospital and is still sleeping all day long. She's awake maybe 1 hour a day total. I know from my past kids I've got a few more days of that maybe and then it all changes! She's SUCH an easy baby right now though, I would love if she stayed this easy!0 -
Kori, she's beautiful!
I had an u/s Wed. morning to check fluids and they estimated this guy to be 8 lbs 15 oz. The dr also stripped my membranes, which didn't hurt as much as I thought it might. I was 4 cm dilated Wed. morning.
Wed. night at 7 pm I noticed contractions and timed them. DH and the kids had gone to my MIL's for dinner about 30 minutes away so I called and told him to come home. By 8 the contractions were 4 minutes apart and DH was stuck in traffic. I seriously considered driving myself to the hospital. Luckily, he made it home- it took him an hour. By the time they checked me in triage At about 9pm I was at 8 cm. It wasn't as painful as last time though- but I opted for an epi since I was so far along I wasn't worried about stalling labor.
Benny was born just after midnight and weighed 8 lbs. We came home yesterday afternoon- I really dislike hospitals. Everyone's doing well- he eats like a champ. I'm really swollen but my dr claims that is normal. Hoping it goes away soon!0 -
So... it's been a week but...
Siannon Georgina Kesilis arrived on 6/17 @ 7:16 am, weighing in at 8 lbs 7 oz, and measuring 20" long.
Headed to the hospital at 11:30 pm-ish on Sunday evening, with uneven but VERY painful contractions. Arrived still at 3 cm, still irregular contractions, but in the hour & a half waiting for the epidural, progressed to 8 cm. Started pushing around 5:30am and out she came. Minor tearing, doc fixed it along with a tag my previous, *kitten*, OB had left 4 years ago. Got my tubes tied at 10am, then had a great hospital stay.

ZombieSlayer- Siannon is beautiful! Congrats! I'm glad you went to the hospital when you did. Sounds like everything went well!
Rosy- Congratulations on Benny's arrival! I'm so glad your DH made it home in time to take you. Is the swelling getting better?0 -
ZombieSlayer, she is beautiful! Congrats!
My swelling is basically gone, thankfully! So far Benny has been our easiest baby yet. We'll see how long that lasts! He's starting to be awake more during the day and last night he slept great! We go in for a weight check this morning so I'll find out if he's nursing as well as I think he is. His big brother and sister are pretty in awe of him so far.0 -
Oh my gosh, look at all the crazy cuteness! Aaaaaah~! I haven't been active on here lately but today is my due-date so I thought I'd pop in and say 'Hi' and check on you ladies. So many beautiful babies! I'm officially up 60 lbs (holy cow, I had gotten down to my goal weight of 120 just before getting pregnant LOL) - so I'll be back at the MFP plan in full-force after the birth and a decent recovery period. :-)0
-
Beautiful babies everyone! So happy for you all!0

Rosy, those cheeks!0

I was going to update my weight today, so weighed myself getting out of bed... Bug needed to eat right away so got that taken care of... out of curiosity I stepped back on the scale.
She apparently ate a pound worth of milk. :laugh:0 -

Baby Rylan Scott here! Thank you Supermoon! I started having very irregular contractions around 4pm while in the movies watching Man of Steel (lol). Got home and just kept an eye on them. Tried walking, too much pain, tried laying too much pain etc etc etc. Just got stronger but not leveled out. Called my doc and the doc on call told me to call back when they were 5mins apart for 1 hour. Ummmm No. I left for the hospital about 10 minutes after talking to him. Arrived at the hospital at 9:45pm at 2cm but contractions 3-4mins apart. They kept me because of the pain and babys heart beat was dipping when I contracted but not bad, just enough to keep an eye on. I FINALLY got my epidural at 1am after being in tears from pain and moved into a delivery room. I was progressing very slowly but I was progressing. 2cm - 3cm - 4cm by about 4am then we all just chilled, tried to sleep. Next check I was at 7cm then progressed the rest every hour. My doctor wanted me to labor down and have the baby do the work so we did. My water had still not broken so hey why not. Finally started pushing around 12:45pm on Monday afternoon. At 2:29pm Rylan Scott Bosley-Smith was brought into this world at 8lbs 8oz and 22inches long! He is beautiful and perfect and all of the immense pain (I felt just about everything, even puked it was so bad) just melted away. My life had been changed forever and I was in heaven. He was immediately put skin to skin and stayed there for my one hour repair. Fourth degree tears. My family was going crazy trying to get in the room but I was so happy to have our bonding time. Daddy had even watched the entire thing which neither of us expected but he just grabbed a leg and got in the action. We were released yesterday and are getting comfortable at home. I am in love and my life will never be the same. I fell in love on Monday afternoon.0

What a beautiful story! I hope you heal well from those tears, it sounds like you suffered a lot I'm sure you love to look at your new baby though, it's so wonderful to finally see what has been growing for such a long time Take care and have a good rest!!Baby Rylan Scott here! Well my little big guy has arrived - Ethan Gilbert - went to 40 weeks 3 days and was born at 12:17 am on June 28 - 9.0 lbs 21" with a 14.5" head. The birth went great, my fastest ever (third baby) and in the water just like I wanted. I'm down 14 lbs from the birth LOL but will have a lot of work ahead of me after my babymoon/recovery.0
-
That is great CM!! Congrats on your little one. So happy it went the way you wanted!
I'm down 23.2lbs at one week PP. What are you other June Mommas experiencing?0 -
Congrats everyone! We made it!
I weigh in again on Thursday but I'm not expecting much change. I can't stop eating! I lost 16 of the 25 I gained by 1 week pp. I hold on to 5-10 lbs while nursing ( at least I did with my first 2 kids). I'm eating like a linebacker and I've been over my mfp calorie goal pretty much every day. I'm set right now to lose 1/2 lb per week but I add in the 500 calories for ebf. I will be shocked if I've lost any more weight by Thursday. I really want to start working out more but I know I'm not ready. My back is starting to hurt from what little exercise I have been doing. I know it isn't a race and that I will eventually be back to my old self, but it feels soooo slow.
Benny was an excellent baby for the first 10 days, but he last 2 nights were brutal! He was awake and eating every hour! I know growth spurts are normal, but I am TIRED. I had forgotten what it feels like to be this sleep deprived. My husband goes back to work on Monday and I'm really nervous to be on my own with 3 kids.0
