2013 Daily challenges

Well done to those who did yesterdays!


So TODAY we're doing:

15 squats
16 lunges
5-10 squat thrusts (if these are too hard, try mountain climbers instead.

One thing I want to say is with BOTH squats and lunges, your knees should NEVER stick out over your toes!

    I incorporated them in my Tabata session! we did a cuircuit styled Tabata of lunge and kick, then sprint run, squats with weights, flys and shoulders, abs (crunches), speed skater jumps, wall sit with a hammer or bicep curl and sumo squats with weights. I did mountain climbers at the end.

    It was fun :)

    I completed yesterday's and todays! In addition to my 45 minute Yoga class and 60 minute Zumba class! Felt great pushing myself to get these done!! Congrats to everyone who did these today!

    I only managed to do about half of yesterdays challenge this morning. But I know it will get easier and I will be able to do it all soon.

    20 star jumps/jumping jacks
    20 crunches
    20 squats
    20 press ups (modify as needed, but try and push yourself!)
    20 star jumps

    Thank you for posting today's! I will double up and do it tomorrow--just had a chance to check the boards. I just have a quick question- what is a press up? Is it a push up?

    Yup press ups and push ups are the same…it just depends on where in the world you are as to which you call them!

    30 sec plank - or however long you can manage, try and make a note so you can build on it)
    20 reverse crunches
    20 sec plank

    I am going to have to look a few of those up too. I will try to do yesterdays at lunch (good thing there is a door on my office) and todays after work. Have to make up for missing last nights exercise also. Looong day ahead.

    Another mini workout for another day! Haven't done much upper body yet…so...

    15 chair dips
    15 press ups/push ups (modify as needed - but remember to push yourself)
    15 back extensions
    10 chair dips
    10 press ups/push ups
    10 back extensions
    5 chair dips
    5 press ups/push ups
    5 back extensions

    You tube video demos are below! If you have any back problems you might want to miss out the back extensions…..but you can always replace them with more press/push ups! :tongue:

    Would you recommend doing these around the time we might do any other exercise or just fit these in at any time of the day?

    Really doesn't matter…they're only short so fit them in where you can!

    Hey Adam, the YouTube posts for the extension and the chair dip are the same. Are they the same exercise? I know what a chair dip is but I don't know what the extension is.

    This one is different, for me Sunday is all about relaxing….well kind of! So I thought we'd incorporate that into todays challenge

    5-10 min gentle walk/jog/run
    5-10 min stretch

    I've been sick for the past couple of days so haven't done the challenges but keep 'em coming. I'm so ready to kick this cold and get back to my workouts.
