SLs sucked for me today..... not sure why...I hadnt eaten enough I do know that beacuse I tried to lay in bed later than usual

got to the gym and forgot it was a holiday...it was SUPER crowded..... I wouldve left and come back later but I had my children with me and they wanted to go play ball...

did 15 mins on bike for warmup

    Squat rack was being used
seems like all barbells were being used....certainly no space on the floor

so here comes the BIG mistake.... I decided to do some machine work in hopes the weight area would clear out soon....leg press 100 lbs 3x15.... adductor 3x15 60lbs & abductor 3x15 50 lbs....

finally Smith machine free..... legs already feeling like rubber I decided to try OHP first.... had to deload and even still only managed 3x5 at 45 lbs... Squats at 65lbs 4x5....couldnt even muster energy to do deadlift....

I gave up...gonna repeat this on Wednesday hopefully with better results...

I did manage to get a few laps in the pool after which kinda made me feel good

Totally off topic.....but I am writng our vows tonight and would LOVE feedback. I want something unique and super short....Here's what I have:

Hello all, and welcome! We are gathered today to celebrate Sarah and Adam’s love for one another. Each of us has strengthened their character and brought happiness into their lives. It is through our continued support that they stand before us together. And, because you are so dear to their hearts, they have decided to make this ceremony short and sweet so we can all get to the food a little faster.
Do you, Sarah and Adam, realize that this ceremony is the biggest real-deal, unplugged, sincerely meaningful, and everlasting thing you'll ever do?
    “we do”
And are you prepared to support and love each other unconditionally, throughout your many years together, no matter how silly or serious, geeky or nerdy, artsy or fartsy, or sports related the situation may be?
    “we do”
Okay, here comes the big important part! The rings –
    Adam, do you like it?
    "I do!"
Then put a ring on it! Sarah, do you like it?
    "I do!"
Then put a ring on it! By the power vested in me by the state of Wisconsin, I now pronounce you… hitched!

Ha! You should see the wedding program I just totally wrote too, well, partially hijacked from off-beat bride and made it relevant.....I'm finding myself rather humorous this evening!!! And nobody is around to appreciate it!!! Cats....no sense of humor....

Darwin I absolutely love those vows! Weddings are usually dreadfully boring it is always nice when people do something different! Love to see the program!

I'm so excited!!! I bought lifting shoes!! Green converse! Very sexy! I had a lot of fun doing my workout today. I only did the dead lift wearing the new shoes. The others I tried barefoot. I thought now would be the time to try barefoot when I am doing light weights. After I did the Squats and OHP we went out to the hardware store and then the shoe store. That is why I didn't use the shoes for squats, next time. I don't know why but I absolutely felt euphoric lifting today. Even more than normal. I think my body is feeling better after all of my injuries. yesterday I slipped on the ice when I was out for a run and bruised my hip and knee. I was quite sore last night but I'm ok now, pain only when I press on things. OR it was all of the chocolate I ate today?? could be that! ; )

    5x5 squats 55 lb
    5x5 OHP 50 lb
    5x5 DL 75 lb

Vette your profile arm is amazing!

Poor sleeper friends. I'm also a poor sleeper, but it didn't start until after I stopped smoking. Clearly the solution is a pack/day! J/K I try to do the realistic for me solutions for better sleep. Like I try to only have caffeine in the morning, and only one cup of coffee, no cocaine after lunch. etc. I'm not sure it really matters though, on nights when I go crazy and have a Pepsi I don't really notice my sleep is affected.

@ fitreelol. Personally I prefer my cocaine first thing in the morning then I'm sure to sleep at night. I assume that was an autocorrect.

This is tree....I'm totally going with she meant cocaine :)

Just got around to reading this, and I'm dying. And my abs are sore, so it's a love/hate thing right now.

Darwin, love the vows. And as a wedding photographer assistant, I hear a lot of them. Definitely fits with the dress and shoes. Irreverent, hip, and perfect!

I'm at home! Ted milling was fun though. I have landscape mode turned off on my phone, and it makes a lot of websites angry when I try to post. Not sure why. Like it won't ever have the cursor in view, and if I try to move the cursor ever it just won't. Or will try to highlight everything I've written.

I totally meant cocaine. Only after lunch on Fridays.

Fisher I love your new kicks. Sorry about your fall. = < Ice is EVIL.

ETA: I found my first gray hair last night. SO EXCITING. I accidentally pulled it out while checking it. My hair is as dark brown as you can get before it's black and it tends to reflect silvery. Turns out it was really silvery. I hope when there are more they come in a well arrayed fashion. I'm too lazy for hair color upkeep.

I am SO too lazy for hair color upkeep, too. I have a little cluster of grey hair kind of in my bangs, and other than that I think it's pretty well sprinkled, so it doesn't show too much. I DREAD having to color my hair. And I probably will feel like I have to at some point. Although, I have to say I am now 37, and actually my mom had a LOT of grey hair at 40. *crosses fingers* Who knows what these next 3 years will do to me, though. If I could figure out a natural enough color to do it myself I would, but most women I see who do their own color do it WAY too dark. And then the ones who try to stretch it too long between colors get that white stripe where their hair is parted. Not a good look.

Okay, let's stop talking about it now, it's stressing me out too much.

I've had grey hair since I was 13, and it never really bothered me until this year when my hair stylist started asking me what my "gray correction strategy" was, or something like that, and I was like .... WHAT? WHY?!

But I am too lazy to color my hair at home (and I don't think home coloring is all that good on dark hair). I might eventually get a color woven in, it won't cover them all but it will distract from most of them and that prevents the roots line that full color gives you.

Or I might not. My mom's going grey in a way that's pretty awesome (Heavy salt and pepper on top and heavy pepper and salt underneath, looks cool when she puts it up) and my dad is BARELY grey still so I might just wait and see.

Also I think that short grey look can be very classy looking.

Ha, I love how all of you are too lazy to color your hair; I'm too cheap to color my hair... and lazy!

It's official I hate the OHP. Completely failed at 52.5 again. I got 1x5 and then 1x4 at 52.5, then 1x5 at 50, then 2x4 at 50. Grrr. Just not progressing well. Maybe I need to drop back to 50 and get solid at it a few times. I don't know. I don't particularly want to switch to 3x5, but only because I'm stubborn. It kind of feels like I'm giving up.

Squats are going well, but not progressing very quickly. But, no knee pain, so I'll take it! Did 5x5 at 65 again (only increasing weight once a week to make sure I'm not adding to fast and causing problems).

DL went much better. I tried the split grip today, and it felt perfect. Still a little "difficult" (although I think that's more it's not easy, not I'm about to fail), and I'm thinking I'm going to have to stop adding 10lbs each time soon and drop back down to 5lb additions. Of course, I almost don't want to add more weight since the magical plate warm up is so easy to do!

And thanks Tree for the tip on relacing my shoes. I've done it to my running shoes, but I don't have cardio again until Friday, so we'll see how it goes. They feel a tad odd, but I guess I'm just used to the "support" aka lacing my shoes way too tight.

Salt and pepper grey can look cool, but I think it often does look better on darker hair like yours, Tameko. I think I'll have to just see what happens. My hair is sort of a mousey brown in the first place, so ...*insert screwed-up nose here* I don't predict it will look good with more grey. Although it may make mine easier to color if I decide to do it myself. My mom went with a lighter blondish color that I like. Her grey didn't really work that well with her complexion, so I'm not sure if it'll end up being the same for me or not.

I DO know I really don't want to be mistaken for my husband's MOTHER. I know someone who just had that happen. He looks really good for his age and just has that salt-and-pepper hair, but his face looks young, still. She has gone completely grey, and has that total white-hair thing happening. Her face looks younger, but that all-white-hair does age her in spite of it. Someone thought she was his mother the other day. I could see that happening with us because people always think my husband looks much younger than he is. Unless he lets his beard grow really long, maybe if he had a big bushy white beard it would make him look older. But the downside is I would hate it and be disgusted by it.

And yes, I'm also too cheap to color it. Back when I was working more I used to get it colored for fun, but I can't even be bothered to do that anymore.

I color my hair at home--with my hair stylist's full blessing. I highlight it in the spring/summer and then most fall/winter, I'll go a bit darker. I've been a medium brown since October, and this weekend, I put some highlights in it in prep for the spring. I've had a few mishaps, but nothing too severe.

Gray hair is boss! (changed my pic so you could see it) I love mine, but I know not everyone likes having it. I used to color to my original dark brown, then just couldn't do it any more. It took 9 months to grow out, like having a baby. The hair color didn't age me, but what has is losing weight! My face got wrinklier.
I say we should do what we want -- keep it or color it -- because of our own tastes and not because of exterion pressures.

Honestly, I love the Revelon kit---complete with cap and everything. I've been using it for years and I've always gotten great results.

    Okay, back to lifting...

This week is my BAB week, so I'm going to try and keep adding 5 lbs to my deads until I can't do it no more! It's so funny, like I got my body weight, and now I'm like, okay, let's see what else I can do! I think I might hit 60 lb on OHP this week too.

    Keep kicking *kitten* everyone!

Not a lifting day for me but I did yoga.....twice.....

Yesterday I picked up the Jillian Michaels yoga DVD and did that this morning then when I was at Costco I found one that focused on strength and flexibility....two separate workouts and only like $7.99 so I picked that one up and did the flexibility one this afternoon. Loves it!!

I also got the Bob Harber Warrior yoga DVD yesterday  Not sure what I was thinking....but I'm gonna try it on Friday and see how much of a warrior I am

I'm pretty skeptical about anything that Bob does...but that's just me. I'm a hater.

So, my plans to lift today were thwarted by me not having my rec center card--you can only forget it 4 times in a 6 month period and the last time I forgot it, the old biddy told me that next time, I'd have to buy a new one. Eff that! So, I'm home. It's husband's birthday, so I'll actually cook dinner tonight.

I've read decent reviews of his yoga video, and I think his workout video (the one I've seen) is MUCH better than the 30 day shred, which is the most awful awfulest awful thing in the entire world and I do not know how ANYONE does it without hating it forever.

Also, that is lame. LAME. Why can't they check your ID or something? Can you make a copy and just keep one in every car you might possibly use for transportation? My gym started using a phone number/finger print thing so we don't have to take any card with us. I'm a fan of it even though I felt totally lame the first few times we used it.

Ha, I go to an independent gym, and they're completely old school. I got a business card with a number written on it. I just have to tell them that number when I check in (although apparently my picture does pull up on the computer when they log me in to make sure I'm not making up a random number).

And it was odd this morning. During my rest period I noticed it must have been official red shirt day at the gym. There were at least 7-8 of us (of the probably 15 people at the gym before 6am).
