Can someone please explain how planks, and hold yourself in plank posistion, helps your abs?
Try holding the plank for 1 minute and you'll see why it is working! It doesn't only strengthen abs, but your whole core. But, then you must have correct form. Your spine should be straight and your arms not stretched forward, but straight down under your shoulders. As you get stronger, you will be able to hold it for longer, but you should feel it in your abs!!0 -
So I finished week 1 and will start week 2 on Monday. (I'm taking tomorrow off) I decided to watch week 2 tonight. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!! That does NOT look easy!0

Just completed day 5 of Level 2 I'm so excited to move onto Level 3 on Monday! Still had a hard time with those crow push ups but at least I could do more today than I could on day one Progress!0

I gave up on attempting crow pushups and just do regular push ups. I"m ready to move to Level 3 as well. At least I think I am ready!0 -
I finished week 2 today. I then watched week 3. I think I am gong to go hide under my futon with my cat! Yikes!0

Today was day 1. I've been doing TurboFire the last year, although I slacked the last few months because the DVDs stopped playing (non-EU format). Anyway, was pleasantly surprised that RI30 gave me a good sweat, I was wondering since TFire is pretty intense and I also hike and bike a lot.
So, I'm looking forward to the coming weeks.0 -

I started week 3 post week 1. Quite challenging. M on day 3...I need 3-4 breaks in between. Can anyone do it with one or without break?0

I'm finished Day 1 Level 2, and the crow pushups are brutal. I can't even come close to doing them correctly, or to doing more than one or two before I lose my balance. So far I'm liking RI30 much more than 30DS, mostly because of the switch to only 30 seconds per exercise, and also because of the increased variety!0

Does anyone have a hard time keeping your knees an inch from the floor when doing bear crawls (week 3)? I feel like I'm never as close to the floor (thus not making it hard enough) like Jillian recommends because I keep losing my balance lol.0

I haven't had time to work out for the last two weeks. :frown: Between the week leading up to get ready for teaching VBS at my church last week and then teaching VBS AND still working most days last week, I just couldn't find the time or energy. (Especially the energy last week!) Yesterday I did my workout for the first time in two weeks. However, MY RI30 DVD wouldn't work yesterday so I went back to 30DS. Way to easy! (Even though I am feeling it today!) So glad my RI30 DVD worked today! Now I am feeling it even more!0

I went to start back into RI30 today. Since it's been almost a month since I really did it, I went back to the beginning. However, I ran into the same issue I had when I last tried to do it. My DVD keeps freezing. I know it's not my player on my computer as other DVDs/CDs work just fine on it. I'm starting to think something is wrong with the DVD itself.0

Hey guys! I'm totally new to the community here, though I've been using MFP for almost two years.
I just finished day four of R30. (I'm still damp... ew.) One thing: I can get through all of level one with no breaks or modifiers... except the push-up. I do the modifier, and even that's iffy.
Does anyone have a success story for push-ups? I've never done one proper push-up in my life. I can barely do the modifier!! I have decent strength and great cardio stamina but... I swear I couldn't do a push-up to save a drowning kitten!! It's really frustrating.0 -
Hi Happy tofu...i am also not able to do pushups. It sounds crazy to me..Lets see when can Jillian make us stronger to do the same..

Right now I am trying to decide if I should re-start at week 3 or should I go back to week 1 or week 2? It's been over a month since I worked out, and I have gained weight back. :frown: I've been bad with what I've been eating and sneaking in things I shouldn't. :frown: I need to get back into a routine to maintain what' I've done.0 -
I'm going through RI30 again, love it. I like it more than 30DS. I feel like RI30 focuses more on strength training/muscle building while 30DS feels like it's more emphasis on the cardio.
Generally if it's been more than a couple weeks of not doing it, I go back to week 1 until I feel ready to move on.0 -
Today is day 4 of level 2. I definitely notice my planking improvement but I'm still doing regular modified pushups instead of crows... :grumble:0

Hi, I am doing RI30 - I'm still on week 1 - day 4 today. I have been doing modified pushups, and abs, but feel like I am improving a bit every day.
Wondering whether to move to week 2 next week, or repeat week 1 to do the higher level exercises I didn't do this week. I have read that others repeated week 1.0 -
I personally like to do each level more than the recommended 5-6 times so I feel like I've really mastered it and can do the advanced version of most or all of the exercises. I do each level 8-10 times before moving on.0

I am doing horrible at keeping up with doing this. :sad: I have switched to do it at night, as I just have a hard enough time getting up in the morning to do it. I did it Sunday night, but the last two nights I haven't gotten home way to late at night to do it. Hopefully tonight when I get home (I'm out again tonight) I can have time to do it.0

Week 1 Day 1 i like it a lot this one and i think is more easy than the 30 Day Shred but with days im gonna say that more secure lol but today was easy but makes me sweat a lot and i like that cuz Level 3 of the 30 Day Shred dont make me sweat like that and is like Jillian says if you sweat you are burning calories!0
