Are signups for this still live? If so, I'll help round out Team 2 with either of the numbers left :)

I'm in! Don't let my Classics Challenge mileage fool you - I ride a lot, it just took me awhile to figure out the posting :D I've got it down now, and while I won't put up huge numbers (due to work and baseball, the big rides are usually on Saturdays), I'll make as big of a contribution as I can :)

hey, "from each according to their abilities...." works for me... it's all about getting out there - and if the whole challenge gets everyone to do at least one extra ride above what they would, then it's all worthwhile...

it's a lot simpler on this challenge - no spot prizes, no photo's, just ride, log and report...

    Isn't Harksy Northern Ireland?
    ...

True - but last year, on his request, he had the tricolour... Having worked in the construction industry for 10 years, I made a point of asking

    Cool... My bad

    Bit of both really...
For those of you who didn't join in with last years challenge, what I propose is that as a team of 9 riders we try and ride between us a distance each day equal to or greater than the distance of that day’s stage in the Grand Tours (The Giro d'Italia, Tour De France and La Vuelta Espana). The person in the team who rides the largest total km’s gets the Leaders Jersy, the person achieving the fastest average speed overall gets the Sprinters jersey and the person who posts the highest total ascent figure in metres gets King of the Mountains jersey.

Excited! My first "dossard" (or I believe here in the US it's called a "bib")! I shall wear it with pride.

Also, I've invited a cycling friend of mine to join and fill out Team 2, but will depend on whether he gets the message before the final spot is taken. Here's hoping, he cycles to work every day :D

OK , I'm in. I'll do what I can on the days I can. It's been a horrible weather year so far in my area. I had fresh snow in my yard yesterday morning. The month of May should be a different story.

    Good luck to all

Thanks for pre flipping my number TBY!

Funnily enough I was the dreaded number 1-3 yesterday but thankfully you don't have to wear it on Audaxes!

    Looking good everyone!

So as a newbie to this group and a relative newbie to cycling, are we expected to cycle on each day of this challenge. I tend to just stick to weekends with a short 40km on a Friday and Sunday with a longer ride on the Saturday. Does this rule me out of the challenge?

Although in my defence there is usually quite a bit of climbing involved. I managed almost a 900m on Saturday, my best yet. But looking at some of your totals I'm an amateur.

As a general 'rule of thumb, I ride three or four days, then have a rest day - I listen to my body.

Just riding at the weekends might be a little too little riding to make a difference (IMHO of course); rides ridden on a grand tour rest days don't count towards the total either. Having said that, the more participants the better...

Aw Heck, 321 is my Birthday... so I might as well jump on board if its available.

I need a program to automatically synchronize Ride With GPS, Garmin Connect, and Endomondo all at the same time. Anyone have a clue?

BTW, my personal goal is to hit 1,000 (1,613km) miles per month May-Sept. We shall see, I've been slightly off the pace so far this year.

I have held off volunteering as I have a riding schedule that will sometimes line up with the Giro days and not other times; I didn't want to be an inconsistent team player! Most of my riding will be on Sat Sun and Wed around a training schedule we are doing. So if you need an extra person to help, I am willing to help & join but just know that I won't be riding on some days. Most Wed rides will be about 22-25 miles; most weekend rides will be be between 40-80 miles depending on which week. These have been fun in the past and I always like to see where folks have been riding!!

Al, I'm sure you'll be a good addition to any team even with intermittent mileage - normally, we tend to run the final team with either a few extra riders, or a "rider number adjusted" distance target anyway.

I'll sort out the Dossard in a few days time if that's ok - partly because I've a lot on my plate for the next couple of days, and partly because It's easier to sit down and crunch a whole batch of them out at once...

We'll take any additional mileage makers we can get on Team 3. I am like you in that I don't necessarily schedule my riding around any of the Grand Tour schedules. I just get out and ride by commuting to work and squeezing in some long rides on the weekend.

Of course, I do have a personal mileage goal of 1,000 miles per month for the next few months... but I'm trying not to stress too much even about meeting that goal. Bicycling should be fun even when training and its challenging.

Hi guys, narak_lol asked me to try this challenge. So here I am, new to this group tho. Let me know if I can go for the third team. I bike almost everyday and averagely about 30km on weekdays and longer rides on weekend.
