Jaccyber – It is awesome that you’re so pumped to do W5R3. I was petrified of this one right up till the time I stepped out the door to knock it over. You seem like you’re in just the right head space to nail it when the time comes.
I am supposed to be doing W7R2 today but it is cold and really wet outside so unless the weather does something really drastic then I will not be venturing out today. I have the day off work tomorrow so I will do it then if I can’t get out this afternoon.0 -
Finished W7R2 this afternoon when I found a short break in the weather. I think I ran a little bit faster as I seemed to have covered more ground so I must be getting better. Maybe I was just worried that I was going to get rained on so I ran a bit faster. How is everyone else going?0

W4D3 completed today. I was scheduled to do it Friday but I had a day off work so didn't make it into the gym. Then I went I skating on Fridya night and did a major face plant and landed heavily on my knee so I decided to give it a rest for the weekend (my and just walk rather than run.
Today was a very good run both mentally and physically. Can't wait to move on to Week 5. And finally my blinkin calves have stopped hurting.0 -
Week 5 Day 1 is in the bag as they say. Felt good and the weather was great for running this morning. After the session I ran 2 additional miles. I am going to stick to the program schedule throught week 6, then in week 7 instead of 25 minutes I am going to go 30 minutes or 3 miles in my case. By week 9 I am going to try to be running 4 miles.0

Had a great run this morning with W5 D2. I am looking forward to that 20 minute run Saturday morning. Lets get it on!!0

Hi everyone!
Sounds like some good progress!
Titanuim, I'm right behind you with W5D1 happening tomorrow... Can't wait! Good to hear you finished off week 4 with a nice run!
Riskay, to me it sounds like you're really 'there'... Only a few more weeks to go and you'll easily do that 5k.... Awesome, can't wait to get there myself
And Jaccyber, wow... Sounds like you really got the hang of it, with adding minutes consistently... I'm impressed! For me, the first weeks were easy and I was adding minutes... But now the program is really challenging to me and I'm already happy when I'm able to finish...0 -
I am hoping to head out tonight to knock off week 7. Have not been able to get out and run for 4 days not for lack of wanting to but more due to work and other stuff getting in the way. I am hoping my other half gets home from work on time so I can get out tonight otherwise I will have to wait till Saturday morning. I have young child at home that can’t be left alone so I at the mercy of my work hours and my other half’s work hours lining up.
AndreaPool – I am so shocked that I am at the end of week 7. I remember on week 2 and 3 thinking that running 25min nonstop seemed impossible. I have been going much longer than 7 weeks though. I think I have been doing it for at least 10 weeks as I have been taking my time. I didn't want to rush and stress myself out about getting it done is a set time frame. I think the fact that I have put less pressure on myself to complete it has made it much more enjoyable than if I had pushed through on days when I was tired or ill.
Have a great weekend everyone.0 -
Week 5 Day 3 completed. I must bedoing a completely different program as my run today was warm up, 8 minute run, 4 minute walk, 8 minute run then cool down rather the straight 20 minute run that I have heard so much about - or is that is Day 3 of Week 6.
Good run I was completely in the zone today. The only downer was that I was in a very stinky mood when I started and was in a stinky mood once I finished which is a shame as I was hoping that all the endorphins zipping around my body would cheer me up.0 -
W6 D1 complete...WoooHooo.
W6 D2 on Thursday.

Hi everyone
I didn’t get out of Friday to my run as my other half didn’t get home from work till really late. So went out to finish Week 7 on Saturday morning. It was an absolute disaster. I was tired to start off with and I could tell from only a few minutes in that it was going to be a struggle. I stopped running 4 minutes before the correct finish time as I just couldn’t go any further. This is my first failed run ever so it really put me a bit of downer.
Last night I went out again in the cold. I nearly chickened out because it felt so cold but I am so glad I did go. I went out with the intention of doing W8R1 but if that was to hard I was going to finish at the 25min mark and call it my W7R3 run. Amazing how much better you run once you have had a good night’s sleep. I nailed W8R1 and I honestly could have gone to 30 without too much trouble at all but I am sticking to the program and I stopped at 28 minutes. It felt so awesome after Saturday’s failure.
Have a great week everyone.0 -
Hi everyone!!
I'm up for W5D3 tomorrow... Excited, but also a little nervous about it... After the last run, I feel like I'm ready though. Hoping the weather will be perfect tomorrow!
Riskay - Isn't it funny (well, funny might not be the right word) how some runs you can feel on top of the world and others are just a disaster? Even though I'm only at Week 5, I can totally relate... W5D1 I was struggling through it, while W5D2 went smooth! Glad your W8D1 run went great!!
Titanuim, it might be a different program you're on... My W5D3 is the 'dreaded' 20 min run . My last run (W5D2) sounds much like the one you finished: Run 8 min, walk 5 min, run 8 min... Hope the endorphins won't disappoint you next time !
Jaccyber, just glanced over your blog and think I might (depending on how I feel tomorrow during the run) follow your example: run past the 20 min... Just to see how long I can keep running...
Hope you all have a great week!!0 -
You guys are doing great!!! Keep it up.
You may not see me around her much as I'm shelving the C25k for a bit. I'm switching over to a program called Tacfit. I will still jog/walk/sprint on my off days to continue to work on my from. I just got tired of the constant pain, and not soreness kind. I think when I get my form down it will alleviate al lot of those problems. If it does I will be back. Feel free to friend me if you haven't and would like to keep in touch. Until then, keep kicking butt!!!0 -
Finished W8R2 tonight. I was a little tired but managed to knock it over. I was going to chicken out and not go as it is so cold here tonight but my other half will not be home tomorrow night so I have no baby sitter. Decided at the last minute to go out and knock it over.0

If it not working at the moment Randy I don't blame you for ditchin the running plan.
Well done to Riskay and Andrea.
Finished my W6 D1 today which was two sets out 10 minute runs with a 5 minute walk in between. It went well. No really mental barriers except frustration that my ipod decided it wanted to replay songs rather than shuffle throughmy running playlist. I got my first real running injury today. I took of my trainers and socks for post run shower and ther was blood all over my toes on one foot. One of my toenails had decided to shred one of my toes - and i hadn't even noticed it until it was all over.
Got my offical enrolment registration for the City to Surf run at the end of August. I foolishly sighed up for the 12km run rather than 4km. Oh well - I have no delusions that I will the entire 12km but I sure will try and not totally shame myself.0 -
Mornin' Group,
So I got my butt out of bed at about 4:15am got ready did my stretches and got outside. It was a great morning for running weather-wise… nice and cool. I set my watch for W6 D2 which went great. I actually went a distance of 3 miles during the session this time which I am soooo happy about. Then I ran for an additional 20 mins after wards. Those last 20 minutes were difficult indeed but I am secretly getting myself mentally ready for the B210K program which I am going to dive into right after C25K. I have noticed that when I run past the 3 mile mark my right hip starts to get sore. I think I need to focus on exercises for running I think if I am going to try to run further than 5 miles. What exercises do you guys focus on for running?
Have a super day.0 -
Hi all
I finished week 8 last Friday. I should be going out again tonight start week 9 but I am feeling really tired so I think I will have an extra rest day. I am over my calories for today so I may talk myself into it a bit later tonight.
I am a bit confused though. When I finished my last run the app on my phone said “Congratulations you have graduated”. I thought I had to do 3 x 30 min runs before I graduate. I guess it doesn’t really matter as I am not considering myself a graduate until I can do the full 5K in under 30 minutes and at the moment my running is still pretty slow so I am completing just under 4K. I am going to start focusing on my speed before I increase the distance past the 5K mark.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend.0 -
Hi all,
Completed W6 D3 with flying colors. Did the 5 min warmup then ran for 34 minutes straight, then did a 13 min cooldown. So happy with my achievements. This program is amazing. Will be moving into Week 7 on Monday.
Great work on getting through week 8 Riskay... Keep it up.
Titanuim: That City to Surf sounds like fun. I bet you will do great.0 -
Hi all,
Completed W7 D2 this beautiful morning. It was in the mid 50's... so awesome. Did the 5 min warmup then ran and ran for 32 minutes and got about 3.3 miles then did about an 8 min cooldown.
Keep up the good work everyone.0 -
Hey everyone!!
Always good to 'check in' here to see what you all are up to .
It really motivates me!
I did W6D3 yesterday and it was pretty tough on me. I know it's really all in my head (my body isn't even close to giving up after 22 minutes), so I am trying out different ways to distract my thoughts ... We'll see how that goes with the 25 minutes on Saturday!
Riskay, sounds like you're graduating this week! Very awesome!! What are you planning on doing as far as running once you've graduated?? Will you continue running 3 times a week, will you set yourself another goal?
And Jaccyber, it's always good to read your updates!! Love the positive attitude!0 -

The head game is what I struggle with most also. I try my best to concentrate on everything BUT the time I have left. Most often I'll focus my breathing, or mentally sing along with the song playing at the moment. Whenever I get to a point where I think "You can't do this, you need to stop", I find myself thinking about how angry I would be if I stopped without finishing. I don't like to "lose" and I feel that if I'd stop early, that's what I would be doing.0 -

I did W7D1 (25 minute run) this morning and I think it went a little better than the 22 minute one...
Now that I know what distance I'll cover, I think next time I know exactly what to expect and that usually makes it easier on me as well !
I can relate to the "don't stop now, 'cause you'll be angry with yourself" thinking... I guess that's what really kept me going today!
Now two more 25 minute runs this week... We'll see how that goes!0 -
Very nicely done Andrea and SLH...your doing AWESOME.:drinker:
Today my schedule was W7 D3 - 25 min run. I did the prescribed 5 min warmup walk then I ran for 42 minutes straight then I did a 1/2 mile cooldown. Might of got a little carried away but I was able to do it... which was so AWESOME. I am working on trying to do the longer runs for when I go into B210K. Knowing that I can run for a certain length of time is a big mind reliever for me. That is why I am trying to go a little further each week. I believe this is a great testament of how great the C25K program is along with strength training. Great Great stuff.
Keep up the great running group.

Today I did W8 D3 session of C25K. It is a Saturday and on Saturday I like to challenge myself to go further then my last longest run. Last Saturday I ran 4 miles... so this time I pushed myself and ran 4.5 miles... then I walked for about 1.5 miles I think for cooldown...lost track of how many laps I went around...LOL. I think I pushed myself to the limit on this run. So now I will be on the last week of C25K coming up which is awesome.
Coming up on Sept. 8 I noticed there is a 5K walk/run for Carenet here is Rapid City,.. So I am excited about that. That will be a super way to finish up this C25K program. I cannot say enough good things about C25K... excellent program indeed.0 -
WooHoo.... YEEESSSSS!!! Made it to Week 9.0

Hi running friends!!
Been away for the weekend, so I decided to postpone W8D1 to today (instead of doing it Saturday)...
I ended up running on Saturday anyway, however, and I think it really helped me to prepare for Week 8.
I was camping at a festival with a friend who enjoys running as well and we decided to hit the road early in the morning.
Because we didn't really know the surroundings and chose to not bring our phones, we just ran free without knowing where we would end up or how long we would be gone. Long story short: we were gone for almost 90 minutes and covered at least 10k (interval running)... It was beautiful!
Today I was up for W8D1 and almost decided to do it tomorrow morning because of the insane heat (we had the second hottest day EVER last Sunday here in Holland).
When I left the house to go to the gym (wanted to swap my running day for weights), I figured it was cool enough to run .
So... I just did it! And I LOVED it!
I can see it's kind of quiet here... Hoping everyone's making good progress!
Jaccyber, AWESOME that you're on week 9 now!! You're doing so well! Very inspirational!!0 -
Finished the C25K program and did my W1 D1 session of B210K yesterday (Aug. 27, 2012). So far my legs have not given up on me...LOL. I am posting my efforts for B210K in my Blog and at the B210K group here:

Keep up the Super running group.
Happy Running.
