Just wanted to pop-in and say hi. I have been off and on some kind of diet plan since I was 16. After 16 years, 2 kids and 1 divorce, I've decided that i don't need a "diet" and just need to start making better choices. I sometimes get discouraged seeing people post about how "fat' they are when they only have 25 pounds to lose. I wish it was only 25.
Please add me as a friend if you need encouragement or motivation. I make a pretty good cheerleader. To me, being able to wake up every day and face the world is a victory. :-)0 -

I am 53 years old and struggle with health stuff just like everyone. I am not making any excuses anymore. I do not want to have any surgery for weight loss. I've know many close friends who have had surgery. Some were very successful and some were not. I am not a very social person so even posting is me getting out of my comfort zone. Very happy to be here.0 -

Hi everyone my name is Melissa. I started my weightloss journey a few years ago at 430 lbs. I lost 115 lbs over the course of a year and my hip went out. Unbeknownst to me, that was contributing to my weight gain. I actually thought my body was hurting so much because of gaining weight alone. Though, I'm sure it didn't help. It's a long story but it took a year and two months before I could get my hip replacement (it was from a birth defect btw). So, I gained 70 pounds back during that time because I was immobile again. I'm now 5 months out of having the surgery and have my mobility back again. Yay. I am losing weight again and am so happy to be back on my journey. I am at 359 lbs now and my goal weight is around 200. I'm looking forward to making new weight loss friends. It always helps to have encouragement.0

My SW is the absolute heaviest I've ever been. When I started MFP I didn't weigh first. I'm TERRIFIED of the scale. I did, however, bite the bullet and weigh yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. Go me! I MIGHT start weighing every couple of weeks. We'll see how the anxiety level is, lol!0 -

Hello, I'm Jeri. I've been "back on the wagon" for nearly two weeks now and I'm ready to be serious about my weight loss. (again!) Two years ago I went from 415 to 350 and managed to gain it back.
But that's in the past! I'm 11lbs down in the last two weeks. That's a pretty nifty start right? Swimming is going to be my secret weapon. The fact that I'll even get in a swimsuit shows my dedication!
I would absolutely love to make some supportive friends who are active on MFP. Keep up the good work everyone!

Hi I just started. My name is Cynthia.0

Hi . . . I'm Tonya, 31 years old, and from Mississippi. When I started using My Fitness Pal at the beginning of May, I weighed at least 405 pounds. More, really, because my scale couldn't weigh me and I got "Error" every time I stepped on it. I've lost 31.4 pounds so far (I'm at 373.6 now) . . . I have about 200 more to go. I want to be able to have kids some day, and I currently can't because of hormonal issues related to being so obese. I topped 200 pounds in junior high, and I've been on blood pressure medication since I was 18. I want to feel well instead of constantly drug out and tired . . . and being able to buy cute clothes without using mail order will be a fringe benefit, too!0

So that's me!0 -
Hey everyone! So glad to have found this group!
My name is Marie and I am a nurse in TN. I am currently working private duty with a contract for a year, and am hoping to be 100 or so pounds lighter by next summer so I can go back to working in a facility.

Current weight - 432 BMI 72.9
Goal for my bday (9/12) 415 BMI 69.1

I am married with 4 kids: 2 19 year old college freshmen, an autistic high school senior and a 4th grader. Also providing round the clock care in my home for 1 parkinsons/dementia patient.
I started McDougall diet halfway a couple months ago which started my weight loss slowly. August 1 I made a commitment to the diet and am starting to feel better and move more.
I have been doing chair aerobics dvds by Paul Eugene (awesome way to get started) and have recently gotten to the point where I feel like I can start doing regular aerobics and ordered some The Firm workout dvds from ebay.0 -
