Will do my end of week test tomorrow as well and since many of us are at different levels it might be fun to work out our % increase?

A 30% increase for me would take me to 40 which would be (very) nice :)

Cool idea! I didn't actually *do* the first test b/c I assumed I couldn't manage more than about 10 at a time, soooo...but I can get an estimate of my % based on that, and get a proper one at the end of the challenge!

The percentage increase sounds like a great idea - I would be due to take the exhaustion test about now but instead I'm on bed rest for the time being. Doctor thinks I have either strep throat or glandular fever, I get the test results in a few days, I'm hoping for strep. I'll rejoin once I've recovered

I'll join you in hoping for Strep! I had GF about 20 years ago - not nice to have :(

Hehe, just worked out some % improvements, my first test was 31 so when (not if) I make it to 100 that's a 222% improvement, however, if you started with a max of 10 and get to 100 that's a 900% improvement!!! (I'd need to do 300+ pushups for that sort of % increase and that ain't gonna happen lol).

Aw, Electriq, hope it's the lesser of 2 evils and you're back to things soon!

End of the second week for me. This was brutal (again). I'll do my test tomorrow so I know what Week 3 (week 5 on the program) brings me.

    Week 2, Day 3. Following Week 4, Col 2, Day 3: 23/28/23/23/33 = 130.

Awww, geez, electriq :frown: Neither sounds very nice, but yeah, strep would probably be..."better"(?)
Either way, GET better and jump back in when you can. :flowerforyou:

My mistook, I thought my first exhaustion test was 31 pushups but it was 21!

Took it again and got to 41 (98% increase), I'd have loved to get that last one in for double my first test but was beat. Week 3 for me will be following the week 5 plan (8 sets start day 2!)

Well I did my test today and managed 17. I'm a little disappointed b/c I thought for sure I could make it to 20...I blame all the shovelling and incorporation of Insanity workouts this week for upper body fatigue.

That said, I'm sure it's still an improvement! Going on the assumption that I could do 10 when I started, this translates to an estimated 70% increase! :drinker:

I'll be sticking with column 1, and my modified (knee) pushups for the next section!

As I did my max test yesterday (41) I thought I'd take today off in the hope that I'll be fresher tomorrow but just noticed 41 puts me into col 3 in week 5 so will play things by ear and may drop into col 2.

I did my test yesterday. Managed 31 (ow). My initial test was 21, so, is that like a 44% increase in 2 weeks?:drinker:

Based on the schedule, I'll be doing Week 5, Col 1, Day 1 tomorrow. I think I can manage that, but I see I'll jump to 8 sets on Day 2 and 3!:noway: Going to be an interesting week of push ups!

I make it 47.6 % but it's been a while since I went to school ;) And yes, week 5 looks cruel - good luck!

And good luck to everybody else in their quest :)

Yup, sounds like good news for you :)

Ok, Week5, Day1, Col3 was not a good thing to attempt with a hangover!

Just did the first set in col3 then moved to col2 36/35/25/22/35 (153). Last 2 of the final set were done modified (on knees). And joy of joys day 2 is 8 (eight) sets!

Week 5 has 5 sets on Day 1, and 8 sets on Days 2 & 3, even for Column 1, which I'm in for Week 5. Also, remember, you'll take a new maximum test at the end of Week 4 to see which column you'll be in for Week 5. Just because you're in one column for one week doesn't mean you stay in it the week after a new test (I dropped from Col 2 to Col 1).

I'll be doing Col 1 tonight, so you'll see what that set looks like. It's not as demanding as Col 3 or 2. *whew*

    Week 3, Day 1. I'm following Week 5, Col 1, Day 1:

    17/19/15/15/29 (max) Total = 95

Day 2 is going to be 8 sets!

Nothing to be embarrassed about, we all have to start somewhere, right? I'm starting to see some changes too, which is...like, kinda the point, right?

Agreed! Glad to see people getting back to it! Your current level doesn't matter. This challenge is improving all of us.
