A challenge is just what I need! There's nothing I hate more than sabotaging myself after working out hard, feeling good, and then I just eat whatever. it's a process I'm working through....my new motto is: "skinny" taste bettered than fat!....although I'm not really into skinny ;)

I did my 2/21 weigh-in and it's official, I'm holding at 4 lbs lost which would've been a boo, had I not decided to check my measurements which have gone down quite nicely. I've lost 5 total inches, 1.5 from my waist, since 1/26/13 - so I'm thrilled!

I wore a dress on Wednesday that was in my give to Goodwill bag, and it's now a new favorite. :)

I hope that you all are experiencing great losses and great health! :)

I'm sorry that I'm a bit MIA these days, I'm working on my portfolio and spending much too much time on another forum. :blushing: I'll be back to normal next week. :)

Have a great week everyone! :)

Had to dig this out for extra motivation because it is so easy for me to become deflated on this journey.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
    When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Hope this can help motivate you too. :flowerforyou:

I've decided to make an adjustment to my goals for this challenge. I've been struggling and the weight is coming off really slow or not at all. I will not get discouraged...just trying to be realistic so I've given myself the option of a new start. I will weigh in on Monday to keep me focused on the weekend. So here are my stats as of today:

    2/25 - SW: 219
    GW: 195

    Goals and NSVs:
    1. Exercise at a minimum of 5 days a week.
    2. Cook and eat healthier meals
    3. Drink a minimum of 80oz of water a day

Thank you Yana and all my friends in this group for your support and motivating words. Starting again and will not give up!

Hey lady! I'm all for fresh new starts. I like your idea to weigh in on Monday to keep you accountable through the weekend. That is a really good idea.

I'm a slow loser, too. I have PCOS and I seem to have just plateaued where I am (or gain a little water weight and then go right back to plateau weight). It can be challenging to lose so slowly, but we can do it. I changed my ticker to reflect my first real goal, not my total goal because it just seemed insurmountable. I've also changed my weight goals. Course corrections are often necessary in weight loss. You're gonna win!!! :)

I used it, went through one tin and it is filling for awhile but I didn't see much loss but I think that's because it is high in sugar and I am insulin resistant plus when following the plan I didn't feel I was eating enough and always hungry.
I think you should give it a try as a filler when on the run but also keep to wholesome homemade meals

    Good luck!

Thanks! I'm going to try it for about two weeks and see how my body responds to it.
  • Yesterday, I almost hit a stumbling block. My husband and I were in a store and they had a large bag of chips for $1. All different flavors and I was like a kid in a candy store, because I am a sucker for chips. I stared at all the different flavors and my husband walks over to me and said, "You don't want those chips. You have been doing so well!" and he walked away. I guess he walked away to let me make the decision for myself, but I did not purchase the chips. I was really surprised my husband even made a comment, but it also let me know that those times when I just want to fall back, he is there to give me that little push.
I am not saying I am going to deny myself, because we all deserve a treat every now and again, but I thought about what my husband said and YES, I have been working really hard and I am glad he has noticed it too!

Just wanted to share that with you ladies! I have been sick off and on the past few days and I am trying to get myself back into gear for this week. Hopefully, I can get back to my full workouts on Wednesday, but I am going to give my body a rest for now.

    Let's do it!!
