Would it be wrong to leave the reflectors on it when I race? ;-)
Only if you don't win. :bigsmile:0 -
Here's my main ride/commuter/baby. It's a late 80's Raleigh 10 speed that I picked up at a yard sale a couple years ago for $30. I stripped it and put all new everything on it. The frame is the only thing original now. Fixed/Free wheel flip flop hub on rear. Nothing too special as far as the parts I used. The color scheme is to match my other ride, my MK4 VW GTI. I even painted it the VW factory silver to match. Ya, I'm weird.
When I had the original bars, saddle, and front brake:
Matching rides: (car now looks a little different now with R32 bumpers/badgeless grill/hood notch delete)
Now with the bullhorn bars and rear brake:
Also just ordered these bad boys. (bullhorns with a drop) Can't wait to get em on!
Happy riding y'all!0 -
Ok. Its been about four months in the planning but here is the new addition to my stable.
I want to get some slicks and slime tubes fitted, but the coffers are dry at the moment for that. I would also like to find a better place for the D-Lock, but it is doubled up as a place for my front light at the moment because there is not enough room on the handle bars. It has a set of tektro brakes fitted on the top too. :blushing:0 -
Can't believe nobody's passed comment on that bike mate - Have to admit to starting fancying a disk equipped non-racy 'crosser as my prospective winter bike... but at the moment I'm still sort of waiting for the springtime to kick in and get out riding the new bike on a regular enough basis to be able to decommission the Planet-X as a source of bits for the new build...
Generally it looks really good - though personally that saddle angle looks a little fierce - but, of course, if it works for you...0 -
I know what you mean about the seat. It does feel a tad uncomfortable at the moment, but I wanted to ride it in for a week or two just to be sure it was not discomfort as a result of switching bikes and the very different geometry. Was hoping to get a 50miler today, but I didn't want to take out the new bike in the gusty weather when I am still not 100% confident on it. The Nemesis has blown 2 spokes on the rear... must had its nose put out of joint with the new thorough-bred in the stable. Will take the dog out for a run whilst I put the mountain bike through its paces just to show my face on the Giro board later.0

Got my first road bike last week, will post up my mountain bike next time I go for a ride!

I bought a Craigslist Univega Via Montega Last year, and liked biking so much I bought a 2013 Fuji Absolute 1.4...but I've never been able to upload pics. These damn things are addictive like crack...I'm thinking I need a road bike now.0

Everyone needs a roadbike - or three, or four...0 -
I currently have FIVE plus a spare frame and two spare wheel sets and endless other parts........
This is 'Cash' my 29er Single-Speed Cannondale. I upgraded to Avid hydraulic brakes and the front rotor is a 180mm piece.
My Ketstral is something of a Work-In-Progress - since I took this photo I put the Aero bars back on
Then we have my SE Draft - a Steel Frames Single speed, coaster-brake piece of fun..
The SE is going on a gradual diet at the moment already it has gained a lighter seatpost, better saddle and I have a crankset on its way....
Finally we have the twins....
Back in 1999 I got a Giant mountain bike and over many years replaced everything, before finally replacing the frame with an Access (Performance Bike) close-out-special frame ($99) in a size that was closer to my size than the Giant.
After building it and throwing a a pile of money at it (XT stuff and Avid brakes), I got a second frame for $49 !
This is the original - freshly washed and with brand new tires.
So I built the second one up as a city bike, groupset is all Shimano Deore on this one though and currently badly undergeared with a 2x10 setup.

The Transition Covert is my cute bike, especially now with it's brand new SDG Anka Martin fantail saddle (not in the pic) and the Turner 5 Spot is one of my partners fleet of bikes (we have 10 in total plus extra frames and things)
My Bike!
Edit: bugger, the picture didn't work but it is on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=528165463863713&l=087b4be0ec0 -

Thanks for your help :flowerforyou:0 -
OOOOOO that transition is lovely.
I have always liked the look of the Turner 5 spot too. It's the frame I would look at when my Orange Five needs to be retired. I even have a Gravity dropper that would go into it as well.0 -

I got my fill of purple anodised back in the 90's personally - after tying the third set of Kalloy Uno Bars in knots "just riding along" I decided enough was enough.
I think I've probably still got a pair of the old Ringle Mojo Brake Straddle Hangers in the bottom of the "big parts box" - a bit like these - only purple and scratched/scuffed/knackered (delete as appropriate!)

Just finished a 175 mile three day tour in western Washington State. The bike was originally a Diamondback Apex converted to touring for a round the world tour in 1988/1989. I've got a total of around 25,000 miles on it I would guess. Still going strong!!

^^^ breaks gawd knows how many of the rules... (seatpack, frame pump, spacers, cranks at odd angles, bottles in cages, dustcaps, Arc-En-Ciel when (to the best of my knowledge at least) you're not a current/former world road champion)
But I still like it :-)0 -
