i think i am making a lot of new friends this night as i sit at one patients bed and keep him quite, so the rest can get some sleep! but i have to say after the 3rd night of screaming i needed a break too!

hope it qualifies as make a friend day! have a great upcoming friday and weekend all!
    That qualifies!

I had an autistic child actually scream for 4 hours straight one day. It was a long day for the adults and the kids.

Well I finally lost on the scale. I was going to lose my mind if I did not lose weight. However it is not much since it has been 3 weeks. my body is fighting this!

@Karendee: you lost, that is the only thing tat counts! My 30 lbs lost so far her on mfp over the past 6 month have been a back and forth fight that makes World wars look like a piece of cake so to speak!
I know they say when you have so much to loose ( and starting at somewhere at 210 it is a lot loose) it goes faster than just 5 lbs at the end... uhm no, not from my point of view, they all have been fighting to stick around non was easy lost!!!

So I can understand your scale frustration and now happiness of the slightest movement!

@spacecurly: Way to make new friends. I am wondering, from your newest profile pic, are you a nurse or an aide? By the way, I love your feet pictures. gonna have to do some myself!

@karendee4: So glad you lost! That is a positive. And you have come such a long way! Just want to say, your profile picture is great. You are so beautiful and look so happy! You are doing an awesome job!

Okay, now for some musings of my own. Just wanted to share my little "observation", lol.

I just turned 49 about a month ago. I am tall (5'11") and have a very long waist. I have always worn my pants, well, up over my belly button (is that now called high rise?). I went to the thrift store yesterday and got some new capris and tops. Everything else is getting baggy (love that feeling) and looking sloppy on me, so I was in need of something that fit. Everything I tried on were "low rise"! Nothing comes over my belly button! I have spent most of the day making sure my shirt is pulled down and trying to pull my pants up, lol. I even had to get creative with my underpants! Most of them come up to my belly button! Going to have to get some new underclothes! Boy do I have a lot of things to get used to!

Yesterday I read about martial arts, because I have no clue about them. or lets say, what falls into the category. I just knew I never liked it as a kid.
some classes look quite interesting but after starting a new week of the c25k yesterday not for the love of god I could have raised my legs for anything more than what my work requires of me!

I had an all around crap day yesterday, which started with the scale going up instead of down, spilling water all over several places (both at home and work), food choices better left alone and a situation which from the heart i felt I handled differently, but now will not be able to change!

Well after a good day of sleep I am now cleaning out my house a bit and than go do some grocerys. And after TOM next week the scale will drop again!

    Have a great weekend all!!!

You all are going to laugh. I have been on a werewolf kick lately. Eileen Wilks writes a good story. This series is really good, with a tight story line and lots of action and unexpected turns. My favorite is the 3rd book in the series (with the last two being very close). You don't have to read the first two books before. It can stand alone too.

    BLOOD LINES
    World of the Lupi #3

    Synopsis
Touch-sensitive FBI agent Lily Yu and her werewolf bond-mate are recruited by the Secret Service to help identify elected officials who have accepted demonic pacts. But Lily must turn to fellow agent Cynna Weaver for help when Cynna's former teacher, a demon master, emerges as the main suspect behind the pacts.

After a demon commits a gruesome murder, sorcerer Cullen Seabourne joins the team racing the clock to find the apprentice of evil who uses demons to kill. Cynna and Cullen must work together—a challenge indeed when each has good reason to ignore the desire simmering between them. But passion and events both spiral out of control as an ancient prophecy is fulfilled-and the lupi's greatest enemy sets her sights on total devastation...

i wanted to look up her books like forever!
unfortunatly the last werewolve related book i read was just not good and I tried to read a second book of the author and series, but she did not improve!

Eileen Wilkes will go on my to do list!!!
(that list grows by the hour it seems!!!)

I like her. Even though she is billed as a romance author (that's where she started), this series doesn't concentrate on that. It is a natural part of the story but not like some series I have read where it is 80% romance and 20% plot. Hers are mostly plot.

Who are some of your other authors? I read a lot and am always on the lookout for more good ones. As you said they are hard to find, werewolf or not =)

And blah, I went up 1.2 lbs =(

I read Lori Handeland because of the werewolve theme, but reading her first book, I was not atracted and I thought by reading it a year later again maybe makes it better, cause maybe I was not in the mood, but her 2nd book made me even more frustrated, that I stoped and figured she is not my style. (i hate dumb characters and especially her heroines were dumb as a piece of bread, sorry I have to say that)!

I like christine feehan, her drake sister books are awesome they all have a bit of magical power and i loved the plott!
Also feehans carpathians novels are good after reading over the first couple of books the greater scheme of things becomes more intersting then the love stories! Only problem if you try to read her 20 something books, there is a chance you get a bit depressed like the male heros in the beginning, at least I felt like it, because they are so dark in their moods *lol*!

At the moment I also like the fantasy adult books alot like lara adrian, gena showalter and J.R. Ward!!!

Most of my underpants are getting big and they always are above my pants. (well with the newer pants at least)
It takes time getting used to the feeling of low rise. I grew up with tall pants. Remember the 90's? I had some tall ones. LOL

Sorry for being MIA. Baseball is wearing me out. yesterday came home from the games took a nap and still slept last night!! (we had 8am games which means we have to arrive by 7am and the field was 45mins - 1 hour away. So we left around 6am!! I got up at 5am on the weekend!)

I took a new photo. I did not see a difference until I put them side by side. My face looks longer than the other. I used a different phone for the other pic but something looks different. Noting huge but I will take a small change at this point.

I did meet new friends day. I made friends with a Mom off the baseball team that I did not know. (Her son just joined recently because we lost a player. Nice family too!)

    Have a nice night!!!

@Karendee4 - the photo looks awesome =) Good luck with the baseball. Lordy but that is early.

@spacecurly - l loved JR Ward! You're right about Handeland. I wondered what was wrong but it took a while. Tracy Spear is ok. A couple of hers are pretty good but there was a couple of ringers. Lora Leigh has a Breed series that is pretty good. I keep getting hooked on the extra characters then she usually writes about them. However, they are 30% plot, 70% romance. Sometimes that gets old. I'd rather have the plot. Elizabeth Lowell writes a really good suspense romance that is mostly suspense. Her Donovan series was really good. So was her Western series, the Only You, Only His. She had a medieval series too. Actually, I don't think I have read a ringer in any of her books at all.

Wow! Sounds like we have our own book review site going on! Awesome!

@ spacecurly and Prephred, I have never heard of any of the authors you are talking about. I'm going to have to check them out! I tend to be a John Grisham, Richard North Patterson, Jeffrey Archer fan. I also like some true crime novels by Ann Rule.

@ karendee4, you look awesome. You can really see how far you have come. I really like looking at older pics to see the change!

Saturday, I ran t the store with my granddaughter. She wanted a new swimsuit and I thought I'd look for some clothes. I was so excited when I tried on 14's and they were too loose. I tried on 12's and they fit, but a bit loose. I was so excited! Before, I was in 16 / 18. Some days I feel like I have lost a lot and others, I feel like I haven't changed. Guess that's being a woman?

Hope everyone has a great day. I'll try to be a bit more attentive tomorrow!

If you like John Grisham, you would probably like Elizabeth Lowell. She does do a little romance but it is mostly suspense with a twist. She has the Donovan series which is about a various family members who work with gems. Her more recent stuff is Death Echo, The Wrong Hostage, Whirlpool. I really liked Moving Target and Running Scared. Amber Beach, Jade Island, Pearl Cove and Midnight in Ruby Bayou were the Donovan Series. She wrote several Mysteries that I have yet to read. They are being re-released as ebooks.

It is awesome you are down to a 12! I remember my grandmother losing over 60 lbs but nobody realized because she kept remaking her clothes. I will do the same with mine simply because I hate to spend money on clothes. I would rather spend it on the books =)

@ spacecurly - I will have to pick up some christine feehan, I don't think I have read anything by her.

uff, gotta say between getting out of nightshift monday at 6 am and starting lateshift yesterday at 1 pm I feel like a zombie when I came home yesterday! I ate something and then went straight to bed! Slept around the clock and now feel a little better!

Usually I would not call my work comunity service or something, but since yesterday was not my usual shift I did it anyway, cause I had the feeling I was giving advice about social situations more than ctually doing my work!

Hope I will be able to respond today a little more, but since ar running short on staff, this remains to be seen *lol*

    Have a great wednesday all!!!

I need to do something quick today and that is why I wrote a movie critic:

One of my all time "I can never get enough re -watching the end" is Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze!!!

Oh how I loved the movie since I was like 5 years old... back then I did not get much of the plot, but how I loved to see them dance!!!
I still love the end scenes the best and I can watch them over and over and over again!!!!
How Johnny storms in and just grabs her hand: "No one put my Baby in a corner!" - makes me melting all the time!!!

I am not saying it is the best movie ever, but like Grease every time the rumor comes up that Hollywood plans on a remake I pray that they leave it alone! Not because the actors were so great, but some things are just good the way that they are and this is one of them!!!

@ Prephred, thanks for the info on Elizabeth Lowell. Going to have to check her out. I really love to read, something I got from my mother, I guess. We would swap book all the time. I had hundreds and hundreds of books, but about a year ago, we had a fire and I lost most of them due to the fire and water damage. I am almost afraid to accumulate books anymore (or other things, for that matter). I'll get over it eventually, especially when my new house gets done, but until then, ebooks for me! We live in a very tiny house and there is no room to store anything, lol.

@ spacecurly, I so love Dirty Dancing. That is one classic I hope they never remake. I wish I could dance like that! I am glad you wrote about it, I am going to have to dig around and see if I can find it, lol.

I don't know how you do it, day shift then night shift and back again. I would be so dead! I worked the night shift (on top of my other job) watching a woman with Alzheimer's and I could barely stay awake. It didn't last very long, that's for sure.

Next week (Monday), I leave for a week of camp (yes, the real thing) and I will not have my food scale, my bathroom scale, measuring cups, nothing! I am going to set my calories to maintenance and log the best I can. I am pretty sure I'll get in a good deal of exercise, running after those kids for 5 days! It will be a great experience, one I am really looking forward to! Hope i make it out alive!

thanks! I sometimes need to look at old photos to remember how far I have come. (Especially when I am having a hard time with the scale). I am sure you will do just fine on your camp trip. I bet you can tell serving sizes by look by now. Have fun

I hope you get some rest from work. Sounds busy!

I worked on the farm yesterday. I did weeding, raking and used the hoe. I am so sore today. I have been cleaning my house top to bottom. I am definitely burning the calories even if I am not doing an official workout.

I also got some great veggies! They had extra so I grabbed more. I have lots of greens, beets, broccoli and more. these veggies straight from the farm spoil me so that grocery store veggies look like crap!

Today I did music appreciation and used my headphones while vacuuming. It was a nice change hearing music instead of a loud vacuum. :)

Funny enough today is my only day off this week, cannot wait for the weekend!!!

I made a new friend today, a neighbour of mine needed some help with her dog, because she had trouble with her door, so i jumped in and gave her a helping hand!!!
Just a little thing, but she was happy someone was there!

@ karendee4, your veggies sound so awesome! Makes me wish I had put in a garden! My Mom always had a garden and supplied me with fresh veggies. I miss them this summer. I do not have a green thumb. The last time I had a garden, my corn only grew three inch long ears, lol. The boys ate them raw before I could even prepare them. Maybe next summer I will put one in.

@ spacecurly, the weekend is almost here! Glad you have it off.

@ Prephred, I love Ghost! It is one of my all time favorites! Patrick Swayze is awesome. And Die Hard is also a good one! Going to have to watch those two again soon.

Today, my back is feeling a lot better. Not sure what I did, but it felt like my tail bone was going to explode. I have been off my bike for three days now and I'm having withdrawals, lol. I was going to ride to work this morning, but things are still a bit tender, so decided not to chance it. I have suffered from so many back problems in the past, it is my biggest fear. It is also one of the reasons I needed to lose weight and strengthen my core. I was constantly suffering from sciatic nerve pain and visited the chiropractor often. Actually, he commented that he hadn't seen me in a while and about how good I looked. I was pleased!

Yesterday, I baked some English Muffin bread. It was a very easy recipe and turned out great! So great, I had about 4 pieces. Fresh bread is a huge weakness and it took all of my willpower to stay out of it, but I did!

No green thumb no problem....grow herbs! They grow very well :)

baseball started on July 4th this week. VERY busy! My inlaws were here and took us out to eat twice.

I WAS BAD! I hope I did not gain 4 pounds again. it seems if I stray I usually gain a lot of weight. I guess I am lucky that way.

I was just getting tired of tracking and I guess I need to track because it keeps me accountable.

I hope everyone had a great week!

I hate the whole day with my husband! We had a nice long walk with our dog Kayla along a river here in town and kayla got a little swim in!
Then we went out and I kind of did good at all day and at dinner... then we went for ice cream (bad idea!!) oh well its one night and the eating is over, going to run in the morning and no scale until friday/ saturday should solve the problem!

Water will be my friend!!! Have a great weekend!

This last week hasn't been a good one for me (arthritis in knees), so hopefully this next one will be better. Sorry if I didn't come through last week with the challenges, or even the morning movements and evening cool downs - I just didn't want to move.
Next week I have a fasting blood draw and a follow up doctor appointment - I have to go to town for that, and will hit the gym and the pool! I have to get out and stay out of the 240's!

@spacecurly - I haven't been getting my water in, and it shows =( Glad you had a good time with the hubby (Ghost makes me cry too)

@Karendee4 - lol I must have a black thumb cuz I can't even grow herbs

@SavvyGurl0528 - glad to hear your back is better.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

    Exercise App Review:

I like the App Endomondo. It has a free version. I use it on my smartphone to track how far I have walked etc. I use this when I am walking without my HRM/GPS device. Sometimes I find time to walk before a baseball game etc and don't have my HRM.

It has many activities to choose from, Hiking, walking, running, bike, so may I cannot list them. I love this App and have used it both on a windows phone and an android phone. It also links with MFP if you want it to.

Link to the site to sign up/find app

I can find herbs you can grow. LOL Some grow like weeks. Oregano, tarragon, mint (spreads fast so better in a pot). I can help anyone grow something. :)

    <><><><><><><>

The in laws were here a few days. I cleaned for days before they came. They are so snobby.
They are very nice and treated us to dinner two days. The first day I was good. I got the burger I wanted but switched the fries for a side salad with light dressing. The next day they got doughnuts and I ate one. OOPS. that sugar set me up for a bad day. That night we had pizza and they were paying. So at the restaurant we got one large pizza and I didn't want to ask for something healthy. I should have! I ate only 1 slice but my binge eating disorder took over the next couple days.
I have not done well the last few days except for a good breakfast. I did not even track the days because when I binge sometimes I cannot remember what I have eaten!
My doctor wants to put me on a medicine that helps control the urge to binge (I have Binge Eating Disorder). I am still not sure what to do there. I will continue therapy so I can learn to deal with my binges after I stop the meds. (If I decide to take them. it is called Topamax if anyone is curious)
I don't usually share my Binge eating stories to others (unless on the BE support group) However I have felt like all of you are so understanding I wanted to share.

I hope I can get rid of this water weight fast. I have stayed away from the scale today. I don't want to see they water weight. Sometimes the scale can be a bad thing. I might get so emotional seeing a large #.
