Okay, it was pretty far back, but I did a 4mile Valentines run with my 8 year old daughter. It was one of my best racing moments. The finishers medals were chocolate. Oh yeah!

I'm quite chuffed with my HM progress over the past 3years...
    My running started ok...
    Sept 2008 - 2:24
    April 2009 - 2:16
Then I injured my knee in 2009, had to skip the September HM that year, couldn't run for ages, put on 25 lb...
    Sept 2010 - 2:51:cry:
    May 2011 2:31
    Sept 2011 - 2:25
    Sept 2012 - 2:21
    March 2013 - 2:18
    May 2013 - 2:13

    Aiming for sub-2hours one day...

Wow, nice steady progress! When's the next one?

Thanks, next HM is in September...so lots of long, hot runs until then...!

Today was the "The Moose is Loose" Half Trail/10k race. I did the half. Overall it was a great day. I could have came out a little faster in the first 1/3 but I was conservative, maybe too conservative because I had such a great solid kick at the end (last 3k). My goal for it was 1:48 and I ran it in 1:52:02. I haven't checked official placing, the sheet said 71st. Big turn out and some really awesome looking runners out there!

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this considering my GI issues yesterday from a screw up eating something that contained lactose and suffered all day. Didn't get the chance to eat most of my calories until later in the evening. Debating running another half next month.... LOL.

Last night - Heart of the Hills 10.4 miler (Hill City to Keystone). Did a 2mi warm up and ended with a 1:24:26, and eked out a 10K PR of 48:56 during my negative split (started at a 9min/mi, split at mile 6 to 7min/mi), Considering I was at 1:01:13 6mos ago, I'm really happy with this. Miles, miles, more miles, bike, bike, and more bike.

Beautiful views on the race, almost 1500ft ascent and 2000ft descent.

This was my first half since 2001, man so many wild years of partying, traveling and child rearing put my running on the back burner. The nerves were high for me too Jessica. Great job everyone on your season so far!

Only just discovered this thread so I'll post my last result.
    Sheffield Half Marathon (May 12th) - 2:07.

Beat my last time by 6 minutes, woot! Now to aim for a sub 2:05, which I think I'll achieve if I fuel mid-race next time.

Good job beating your PR. Fueling likely won't make much difference, but continuing to run consistently between races surely will!

Thanks! You're probably right about the fuelling, but it took me 12 minutes to run mile 12, unlike the 9.5 minutes to run most of the other miles, my energy just disappeared completely and I reckon a bit of sugar would have helped a lot. But I intend to train more for my September run!

My local running group did a "prediction run" last night -- you predict your time on our 6.39-mile loop and the person who gets closest to their prediction wins. Doesn't matter if you are fast or slow, accuracy is what counts. Oh, and you don't get to wear a watch or GPS.

Anyways, I predicted 43:00 and ended up running 42:55, just 5 seconds off -- so I won! It was also a PR for me on our training loop by 30 seconds.

    Awesome job!

On Friday evening I ran just under 64 minutes for the Blessing of the Fleet, a 10 mile road race. I'm very pleased with the results. You can read about it here:

Slow(er) runner here. Just ran a 5k in 32:54. My 5k PR is a little over 26 minutes. After running my first half marathon (in 2:02) 2 years ago, I jumped into marathon training, got hurt and switched to run/walk, and have slowed down considerably. Finally trying to build myself back into running without walk breaks again. That and losing the 20+ lbs. I have gained back should help me speed up again.

Ran my first HM in May in Providence, RI - 2:04

    Last 5k was 24:10

Haven't ran a race in a few months. Running a 11.6 M (I know, weird distance) on Saturday. Interested in seeing how much I improved!
