Harrisburg Half Marathon in 1:28:17. 3rd in AG, 30th overall (top 3%). Not a PR, but a good effort.

Nice run! Great to get an AG award in a fairly big race.

I feel like a putz posting this after an impressive sub-3 full, but I did my first full today at 4:27:29... PR'd it lol. Next year I will have more than 480 miles logged leading up to my next full though. Hopefully bring it under 4. Y'all are rather inspirational like that

That's awesome! Always great to see someone finish their first marathon and then come back for more!

I completed the Lehigh Valley Health Via marathon yesterday in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was my 22nd marathon overall. I finished in 3:48:49, 8:44 pace. It was my 4th marathon of 2013! It was a tough course, although not a huge elevation change overall. I burned 3,671 calories during the run! I'm building towards a BQ attempt in November in Philadelphia. I'll need a 3:30 for that.

Ran a trail (roots, trees, rocks, killer terrain) 10K in Western Pennsylvania yesterday.
    55:07 - 6th place overall - 1st place in male 20-24
I've never placed before, it was awesome feeling when I heard that only 4 people were ahead of our group.

Weather was good then it got humid and hot

I feel you. I'm not as fast as some of the people here either. My last three races were:

    5K - 21:42
    5K - 21:25
    8K - 35:07

So I have only been running regularly for 4 months. . I did 2 5Ks over the summer 35:42 and 34:55 and my first 10K Sunday 1:16:00. Training for a my first half October 20th. After that I can focus on speed. I know there is a sub 30 5K in my future.

Good job. Running more slow miles, like you need to do to train for a HM, will make you faster.

Hopefully. I definitely feel stronger. I would have never imagined four months ago that a HM was realistic for me. So if this is what I can do in few months, I can't wait to see what I am capable of in a year or more.

    Hi all
I did a Park Run 5k this morning, on a fairly muddy hilly course. I finished in 27:16 which was 3:04 faster than my PR. I was 81st out of 166 runners so I finished in the top half. It is less than a year since I got off the couch and in my first race last January a 10k in 1:18 I finished 2nd last. So I am pleased with this improvement. All I want now is to go under 2:10 for my October HM and my first years running will be a success.

Awesome to hear what you've done in a year. I hope I have those kind of PR in a year. Great job!

I took nearly 10 months off running last year and got back into it in December starting off at 12 minute miles. This is my progress so far!

Recent results: 10k in August in 55:36, beat my previous time of 60:02 (in March).
5k in Sept time 25:40, beat my previous time of 32:17 (in dec)

I need to work on my half marathon times. My first was in March 2:17, 2nd one in May 2:36 (hot hot day at 30 celcius). I have a half in October and hoping to get under 2:10, ultimate goal is under 2hrs
