*resurrection* It's not toally dead yet...

Just got a set of Clement X'plor MSO 700x40 tires for the bike (and promptly put a piece of metal into the rear but that's anouther story) with some tubes, sealeant and Ironclad Mach 5 gloves. Really looking forward to putting the tires through the paces on some local gravel and dirt, they felt pretty nice this morning (briefly).

Well - after the abortive attempt to buy a Cyclocrosser, I decided that it was high time to actually properly finish the Dolan - it'd always been visualised by me as being fitted with a power meter.

Finally, Stages have announced a UK distributor for their cranks, so I snapped one up on Tuesday.

Still have a yearning for the 'cross bike though... N+1

I purchased a road repair kit (pump, flat repair kit and first aid kit) for our (wife and I) cycling getaway in Jim Thorpe, PA. Pics to follow soon. If anyone happens to be in the Lehigh Valley area (Pennsylvania), you owe it to yourself to bike that trail. Awesome!

I just picked up a couple of Manolos

Radial - the sole is really stiff & thin - almost no power lost - my favourite pair at the moment

Genius 6.6 - more comfortable than the DMT, nice for longer distances & I like the dark green

Nice Sidi's - got a pair of the "Mega" last ones (I've got feet that are more like flippers! - far from dainty) in white. (or at least they WERE white maybe 10,000km or so ago...) - proper "Disco Slippers"

I picked up these on my lunch break, after riding Candies all summer and never liking them.

And I'm ordering these, smoking good deal:

Just bought a new saddle as the old one was getting too squishy (OK the purchase decision didn't really have much to do the squishiness  )

not exactly big scale bling, but i've a pair of Shimano M540 SPD Pedals heading my was from Merlin Cycles, hopefully in time to be fitted to the CAADX 105 Disc when it lands (supposedly mid next week)

(grabbed a couple of spare inner tubes as well, but I don't really count consumables as schwag )

got my $2.30 gloves today. stitching is a little loose on the strap of the right glove so i have emailed to see if they will send another pair, but if not its an easy fix.

still, for 2 bucks, you cant really complain.

Indeed; lovely jacket I'm sure, but at £200+, it'll be staying in the shop (IMHO of course)!

With my Christmas money going to treat myself to my first set of road specific pedals and shoes for my road bike. I currently use SPDs which I have on my hybrid too and MTB Specialized Tahoe shoes.

After doing some research - these are the ones I'm going with Look Keo Classic

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/look-keo-classic-pedals/

I can't decide between the red/black (as my bike, the Giant Avail 1 2013, is black with bits of red so unsure if it's too much red on the pedals) or the classic grey. Then going to look at shoes in Evans Cycles at weekend as I need to try those on and go off feel

I do love those red/black pedals but have niggling doubts as to how it would look on the bike...

This is the bike - it's black really with flashes of red...which is why I'm a bit unsure. If the pedals were black with red then I would definitely go for them...

    http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/2013.giant.avail.1/11866/56904/

Also, would the red/black pedals look silly if I end up with light coloured shoes though - a lot of the ladies ones in my budget seem to be white or silver???

Nothing wrong with red pedals on that bike, and a pair of the white "disco slippers" would go great - as long as you keep the white bar tape/saddle...

(you know how OCD I can be about things on bikes "matching"... remember the saga with my Dolan build )

Haha I know all about your bike matching OCD - that's why I came back to you for a second opinion with a pic of the bike - hahaha!! OK - bit of flashy red it is then - blingtastic!!
