Finally got 350lbs for 5 reps for my Monday workout and will try for 360lbs for a triple tomorrow. Current program calls for 10lbs jumps, but might have to move to 5lbs jumps in the near future.

Also raw as I have yet to feel the need for a belt or anything else yet.
That's some good weight. Good luck on getting those triples.

Got my triple last Friday, but it was at 355lbs...don't know why the spreadsheet jumped that weight by 5 compared to previous weeks at 10lbs jumps. But completed this Monday's workout with ramped set of 5 at 355lbs...I think I might have finally found my "groove" in regards to bar position and stance as while it was tough, I could have made it another rep or two. Spreadsheet says 365lbs for my triple coming Friday....

Paused squats are definitely helping! Haven't tested my max in a while (see profile pic for my reasoning), but managed to slam out 600 confidently without my spotters the week before the arrival, and pushed a 1005 lockout to get over the "this is too heavy" mentality.

That sticking point when I try to push through parallel is going away bit by bit, and I'll be ready to compete in the spring!

looking to work up to a 1RM tomorrow on squat day, but as of now my best is 365x5 as the final set of 5x5 with 285/305/325/345/365. hoping to push out 405-425 working some warm ups and heavy singles....

625 in competition, barely missed 660- bar tilted a little too far to one side so I didn't get depth on the other side when trying to recover.

One of those rare days where the weight just felt light. It was going up easy.

    245x5 (5 rep PR) 90% of my 1RM
    260x3 (3 rep PR) 95% of my 1RM

    bodyweight: 124-125

just adding a little update... got 415 for a clean rep. then did a few sets of heavier pin squats, got 515x3 and it felt remarkably light. im hoping ill hit 425-450 at my meet in march.

    275 for 3 reps @ bodyweight of 124-125

had two people observe and confirm that all reps went below parallel

275 is my PR from my October meet. My next meet is in three weeks.

Mine is all over the place at the moment. I ate at a little above my maintenance calories two weeks ago and handled 370lbs for 5 reps rather easily, but after a few days back at caloric deficit, I struggled to get 365lbs for 5 reps last week and couldn't get 370lbs for my triple on Friday. Seems like it's taking longer to recover here lately on squatting but my bench for whatever reason seems to be improving some...

Awesome numbers. I use StrongLifts 5x5 Program. It calls for 5 pound jumps on everything except Deadlift, Which is 10 lb. jumps.
I found this formula helps me advance consistently, while continuing to get stronger.

Got a couple of singles at 243 (110kg) last weekend, and was chuffed...then got 5x3@220 (100kg) yesterday and now wondering what my *real* 1RM is...

I hit 545 the other day easy (coming back from back injury, so that was a small victory) If my back holds up I'm hoping to hit 600 raw in the next few weeks.

    Here's the 545:

150kg (about 330lbs I think) without a belt, wraps or suit. But, it's not that impressive given my weight. I'd like to see a 500lb raw squat.

squat is climbing pretty good right now. raw, no belt, no wraps. got 455 for a pretty easy single. might have had another 20lbs in me too.

You had at least another 10kg in you last weekend.
  • I have done 245kg in the gym before Christmas.

I sank 240kg easily just two weeks ago and then missed a 245kg on the platform at the weekend.

    *throws hands in air*

    Need to be more consistent!

Saving it for Worlds ;) I'll get my 125 there and you can get 250 minimum. Deal?
  • Deal :) I am gonna deadlift over 300 at worlds or I will be in hospital trying. 250 for squat is in me just need to produce it on the platform :)

Still waiting on big Pete getting back to me but don't see it being an issue

Just did my 3rd RAW meet yesterday (APA). Belt and sleeves.

Got 270lb at 157lb. Very happy with it as I added 25lb to my meet max (albeit at 9lb heavier) and it was only 5lb off my gym 1RM (which was parallel but possibly would not have been white lighted). May have had a few more lbs in me - but glad I decided to go for the weight I did. It was my 4th lift as it was a State record in the Masters division (allowed by APA).

Clipped the uprights on the walk-out - need to work on that as I keep doing it.

Nice lift. Next time you compete, get them to set the racks 'in'. That prevents a bit of banging on walk out.

    Thanks.

Yep. I usually try to wedge the bar more - but it was a bit intimidating as they had all these cameras around as it was a record (for their website I assume). One actually set up right behind me but was told to move to the side by the refs. It threw me and I rushed things a bit. I definitely need to take my time more on the set up.I was also a bit anxious as it was 'up there' re weight for me. Felt good though.

Thank you. I thought about that afterwards but was not sure if they would if my grip was not out wide. Will ask next time.

I have them and rehbands. I use rehbands for day to day training and the sbds for competition as they are a pita to get on and off. Having said that, I love them.
