    Went out for a ride today, it started out great. Ran into a couple of road cyclists (expensive bikes, full kits, road cycling pedals/shoes, the whole bit) today. I was stopped drinking water. Was asked what I was doing, said training. For what I was asked, for half and full century tours I said. I was told to get a proper road bike, get rid of the junk I have and then road ride, that I am not a proper cyclist. The two guys laughed and took off. Well to say that I was discouraged is an under statement. So I just cut off my ride and came home. Am feeling sad right now, all of the miles I have ridden, all the weight I have lost, and I love to ride tours. Oh well......maybe I will just give up and sell my bike and be done with it. Sorry for the rant, but I feel we are all friends here and I have no one else to vent to.
    ANACONDA469 - Don't you tell me for that you are going to pay even a second's attention to those two utter and complete A**HOLES for what they said to you!!! Don't you dare hang it up! You should have told them to STFU and keep their crappy opinions to themselves!!!! You HAVE come a long way and maybe you're not going to be competing for 1st place in the next Tour de France, but you're setting and reaching goals and getting fitter all the time! All a better bike does is cost more and maybe make it easier. You're getting more training benefit out of the bike you have. Besides, you're not in the tours to win, you're in them for the enjoyment and camraderie of it. Screw them. And if you ever see them again, please give them my regards (tell them to EFF OFF) and wave to them for me, but I only want you to wave one finger...

    Pardon my language...but for crying out loud. Why do some people have to be so horrible. Just plain bullies.

    This evening got in the way of my plans to go to the gym, but I got a good short ride in on my stationary bike in its place.

    anaconda649...don't let the narrow mindedness of others stop you from doing something you clearly enjoy. They know nothing about your journey..so why let them dictate it for you. Do what you enjoy!

    I'm exhausted tonight so I will update the spreadsheet in the morning. Sorry for being a little bit delayed in it - I fear if I do it tonight, I'll make mistakes. Happy moving, people!

    This makes me sad. And ANGRY. That is complete BS!

    Another reason I love my Girls Bike group that I ride with- all levels, all kind of bikes, having fun, getting stronger, encouraging each other.

    You just keep right on doing what you are doing and don't let anyone get you down!

    =============================
    SPREADSHEET UPDATED TO HERE

    See (but not edit) the
    spreadsheet here:

    http://tinyurl.com/myac201402
    =============================

    Anaconda - I'm sorry that those guys were such DBs to you. :# I HATED riding my bike to work in Portland because I ride a commuter bike and all these "real" cyclists would ride past me SO fast and (even if they weren't) it felt like they were judging me for taking up space in "their" bike lanes. For being such a "bike friendly" place, the cyclists in our corner of the world can be really awful. >:) I know it's easy for me to say, not being you, but hang in there, and don't let them undo all of the progress you've made. You're doing GREAT, and they are dumb. Period.

    2essie - you're in for the streak. :D For anyone not sure if you're in for the streak, or not, there is a new column in the spreadsheet. If you see a "-" in that column, you're in. If that column is blank for you, please let us know that you want in, and we'll add you.
