I have a super simple, single serving recipe. It's 1 tbsp each of butter (melt the butter first), coconut oil, peanut butter (I use crunchy for the texture), unsweetened cocoa powder, then I add in 2 packets of Purevia, and stick in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
I also have made a salted caramel variation using the same recipe as above, and omitting 1 of the Purevia packets and adding ~1tbsp of Torani SF caramel syrup, and 1 good twist of the salt grinder.0 -
Carbs are a limit, protein is a target range, and fats are to satiety. Fat is not a goal to "reach." If you're full, stop eating. You don't need more fats if you've accommodated your other goals.
I found that fat bombs, when eaten one here or there, are okay, but they made me crave more junk and became almost a macro unto themselves. I don't eat them now, much, if at all, but they were critical to my success in the beginning.0 -
I don't do them often but I've been dying to try this recipe: http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/2015/07/03/walnut-keto-fudge/0

I think that was my problem. I was a sweets junkie, and while my cravings are more managed on this eating plan, I still have the "sweet tooth" and so most fat bombs and such end up being a slow slide to carb creep for me...
I'm so jealous of those who can have them once in a while without much adjusting!0 -
I've done a chocolate fat bomb with: 1c Coconut oil, 1c unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 c sweetener of choice. Very good! Makes 24-30 in a mini muffin tin lined with mini liners. Must keep refrigerated.
Next on my list to try is a vanilla variety that I may add coconut flakes to...
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 Cup Coconut oil
Sweetener of choice
dash of vanilla extract
Shredded coconut (optional)
Let me know if you come across more good ones too!0 -
Awesome guys, thanks! I find myself really hungry all day still so I know I need extra fat, without going over my protein so I think this will help.0

When you are new to Keto, try it all out, I did.
I don't do them anymore because where I am at I have mentally worked really hard for and I feel really good.
It was fun learning and collecting Fat Bomb recipes, what I learned was I could use flavorings to copy just about any thing I was craving. I even added in cream cheese.
The scale was going no where when I was eating them.
I now am at the point where I would consider them a waste of time.0 -
Just fyi, there are also savory (i.e. not sweet) fat bomb recipes out there too. Here is a link to a website that has some sweet fat bombs and some savory fat bombs.

Here's another link which has both kinds but has a larger selection of savory fat bombs than the link I posted above:

Another super simple one - Poor Man's Chocolate Mousse
2-4 TBSP heavy cream, 1 TBSP cocoa powder (I prefer the "Special Dark" flavor - if not using a dark, add 1 tsp vanilla), and stevia, sweeten to taste. Adjust flavors to taste, but whip ingredients together.

I've since moved on to:
http://www.healthfulpursuit.com/recipe/chocolate-hemp-shake/
My basic fat bomb recipe is:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 oz butter, softened
4 oz coconut oil, melted
2-4 TBSP flavors
Sweeten to taste.
Melt the butter and coconut oil together until JUST MELTED. Mix... Blend in cream cheese (it won't get super smooth and emulsified until you mix in flavorings.
I've done this with cocoa powder and cinnamon. With lemon juice and zest. And a few other flavors that were less memorable. But this base can be used with most anything...
As for the savory ones, I tried the smoked salmon one, and oh, goodness, I did not like it! LOL - just forewarning. But at this point, I'm not sure I like smoked salmon anymore, apparently.0 -

I had same experience. Rarely do them now.0 -
