Ooo, fun! I had RNY on 7/17/14 and all is going swimmingly.

    Age: 44
    Height: 5'5"
HW: 311 This is at my last pre-op appointment. Likely it was higher but I wouldn't know because prior to prepping for surgery I hadn't been on a scale in years.
    SW: 298
    CW: 230

    Starting pant size: 26/28
shirt size: as big as I could get them; 26/28, 3x
    Current pant size: 18
    shirt size: 18, xl

I still have big honkin' size 11 feet, but my shoes fit better for sure.

    Updating myself!

    CW: 180
Pants: 12 or 14 depending on the cut/style and label

    Doing it again:
    Date of Surgery: 7/17/14
    SW: 298
    CW: 156
Pants: 8/10. The last two pairs I bought one was an 8 and the other a 10 and they fit the same. LOL

Then, pants 26w, tops 5x if I could find them
Currently, pants xl- 18w, depending, shirts xl- 14w depending

And I bought shoes in a regular outlet store, in a regular width. Yahoo! Of course, still wearing my men's 9.5 4e for walking. Maybe in 50 more pounds I'll be able to buy cute woman's fitness shoes.

I'm a newbie but I'm doing great! I have already lost weight and I'm just trying to balance my food intake. I am excited about this journey and I see a change in me already. My clothes are already starting to be loose. My goal weight is 150lbs I will be more than happy at that weight. I haven't seen that weight since I was in my 20's.

Amazing success stories! Hi! My name is Barbara. My shoe size was 71/2.

    Height: 5'
    Weight: 321 lbs
    Pants: I didn't wear them
Dresses: 32-34, 36-38, (at that time, it was very hard to find clothes big enough for me)
Tops: 36-38 (4x) I can't remember if they had that back in 03'.

    Current Weight: 106-110
    Pants: 0
    Tops: XS
    Shoes: 6 or 6 1/2

I was so heavy/morbidly obese I could barely care for myself with personal hygiene. I got deeply depressed and I went into a cycle of binge eating for about 6 years. Before that, I was always about 15 lbs over weight. I was about to give up my career as a Hospice Social Worker when a friend of a friend that was heavy all her life had this surgery. Before I knew it I had the surgery.

The first 6 months was hell. Back then, they didn't require counseling, diet counseling, etc. The worst part was the feeling of a raw stomach. I also ate too much and experienced wasting. I found out soon that I could shrink my stomach and follow the doctor/nutritionist after some consultation.

I thought I was going to die. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, edema, and could barely walk. I didn't lose my weight over night. It took me about 2 years to get it all off. I did lose some hair but it grew back with no problems.

My life changed significantly after the weight came off. I finally felt a sense of self. I never became "oh I'm so great." For me, I was happy to be alive and humbled to be given a second chance. I swore I would help others that asked for it that I would support people suffering in silence the prison of obesity.

I'm just an average woman, who loves to laugh, make friends, and stay out of trouble! Feel free to ask me anything about my experience. I'm an open book and I do have a before picture.

    Sincerely,
    Barbara

    Hello all:

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the group. My name is Jennifer, 32 years old, and I am from Michigan. I am pre-op and have my surgical consultation January 6th. I have been interested in weight loss surgery for several years now, but in October 2014 I really dedicated myself to it; I've been following my insurance requirements since and hope to be approved within the next month.

    My height is 64"
My highest weight recorded was in April 2015 at 303.4 pounds
My current weight is 273.4 pounds

I am inspired by everyone's stories here and am glad you all have the courage to share. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group.

    Hi All
I had my sleeve done one week ago today. I tried back in 2008 for the lapband but I was denied.
In 1999 I weighed 497 pounds and over all those years I had been on numerous diets. I lost and gained over the last 16 years.
The day I went in for surgery I weighed 314. I am anxious to see what will happen to my body and self esteem over the next year.
  • Surgery : Feb 25 2016!!!
    Current weight : 205
    Current height: 5'3
    Current size :16/18
    Shoe size 9
    Ring size 9

My lapband surgery is around the corner and looking forward to feeling better more than wearing a smaller size. My A1C is currently a 12.9 and have high blood pressure. A couple months from now if like to be able to walk if not run for a mile at least without fearing that I'll pass out. I'm truly inspired right now and can't wait to be post-op.

Hello! New to the group! 4 1/2 months post-VSG.

5'3" -- I find it so interesting to see people of similar heights and weight have incredibly different sizes. It blows my mind.

    HW 8/25/15: 307
    SW 10/15/15: 283
    CW 3/10/16: 208
    (surgeon's) GW: 185

    Clothing:

    8/15: Shirts: tight 5x
    Pants: 32

3/16: Shirts: XL (wearing a 2x most of the time because of my damn bat wings!)
    Jeans: 18/20
    Skirts/Yoga Pants: 16/L

My shoes are way too big, not sure what size I am now. I was completely floored when I had to buy all new socks because my feet had stretched them so much width-wise, and they no longer fit!

Thanks, @anbrdr, for reminding me of this thread. I've been lax with accountability lately.

    Month 4: 7.6 lbs
    Month 5: 12.4 lbs
    Month 6: 8.2 lbs
    Month 7: 7.0 lbs
Month 8: 3.8 lbs (BIG stall during this month, including several small gains before losing again)
    Month 9: 5.4 lbs
    Month 10: 4.4 lbs.
    Month 11: 4.6 lbs.
Month 12: 4.8 lbs. (Total loss of 108.2 lbs. on my surgiversary date)

    Hello,
    I am 33
    Female
    5'10"
Highest weight was 306 at the beginning of the year, pants were 22/24, shirts were 3x
Vsg weight was 283 on 2/10/16
    Current weight is 253
Pants are now size 16 or 18 and shirts are xl or 1x.
My shoe is 10 1/2 w, but it has been since I was 11!
My goal is between 200 and 180. I'll just have to see how I feel when I get there.
My loss has almost halted over the past couple of weeks, so I need some encouragement, but also to start working out! I haven't done much other than increase my walking.

    Thanks!

I finally committed to the process and to have the surgery a little over a year ago (23 March 2015). I weighed 285 pounds at 5'4"and 39 years old. I'm not sure on my sizes because I specialised in stretchy leggings and oversized tops...but there were at least two Xs in front of the L.

I lost about 30 pounds pre-surgery...albeit most of that during the 2 week liquid diet immediately before surgery.

I had originally planned on having the sleeve but some irregularities in my esophagus made RNY a better option. I had my RNY, hiatal hernia repair, and partial esophagectomy in July 2015.

This morning, a year and few days later, I weigh 156. Wear a size 10 pants comfortably, tops and dresses medium (and sometimes small). A size 6 ring. My feet are also down a size and a normal width.

My lupus has been in remission for the longest period that I can ever remember since I started having symptoms 20 years ago and I'm off anti inflammatory medication and my CPAP.

I'd like to get to 150 before my 40th birthday in April...but I haven't really determined my final final goal. To be honest, I never thought I would see 150 again.

GAH! So, I don't post here often because I dislike accessing the boards from my cell. I sit at a desk all day at work with a computer and internet access. I used to search recipes like a mad woman, reading all about food. It's crazy how it was my life. We are blocked from most social media, thankfully they don't consider MFP social media! Anyway, I did post my stats above, but wanted to put a SUPER DUPER update!

    HW 8/25/15: 307
    SW VSG 10/15/15: 283
    CW 3/28/16: 198.2!!!!

I was 199.8 on Saturday, but didn't drink enough water, so back up to 200.4 yesterday. 198.2 seems far enough in to say I'm officially in the ONE hundreds!

My surgeon's May 20 goal for me is 198.0, when I get there do I get to take time off? *wink*

I've not been under 200lbs in almost 22 years. It's crazy!

    Current Weight: 287

    Howdy!
    34 yr old female
    Height: 5'3.5"

    VSG: October 7, 2015

    HW: 262
    GW: 130

    SW: 246.2
    Clothes:
    Pants - 24/26
    Shirts - Almost XXL
    Shoes - 10

    CW: 182.4
    Current clothes:
    Pants - 16
    Shirts - M
Shoes - 10 (unfortunately, I've always had BIG feet)

    6 months out - 79.6 lbs down.

I'd being lying if I'd say, it's been a smooth ride. I log EVERYTHING I eat. I weigh everyday, some times twice - morning and night. I find water weight curious, especially TOM.
It's become somewhat of an obsession. Hell, I guess it has to be. Your way of life HAS to change.
The greatest fear I have is gaining the weight back. I can tell myself that I'm eating right but slipping into old habits scare me to death. It's a habit now to eat proper and to carry a small cooler everywhere I go. I hope beyond hope that it sticks.

    :)

Keep up the amazing work everyone!!
