Hi, I'm not new to Leslie's walks, but I am new to the group. I did her walk challenge on Facebook in November, but got sick with one of those nasty upper respiratory things early in December and it is hard to walk when you can't breathe and hacking up lungs. I didn't see a January challenge in Facebook, and just found you guys tonight. My husband gave me 3 Mega Miles and 5 Mega Miles for Christmas. I've been doing 3 Mega Miles about 3 times a week since, and did not quite get through 5 Mega Miles once. My goal for January is to continue doing the 3 miles at least twice a week and maybe 3 times and add the 5 once a week. Then work into the 5 miles twice a week and the 3 mile twice a week.

Hi Bonnie-Welcome to the group and we are glad you found us. 5 Mega Miles is a tough one that you really need to work up to, so your plan is a good one. There are also a couple of 1, 2 & 3 mile walks on Leslie's You Tube Channel the you could add to your 3 Mega Miles to make 4 as you work up to 5 Mega Miles. I wanted to do a 2 mile walk this AM but it looks like they've pulled some of the youtube videos down. I switch over to Jessica Smith and tried her 30 Min Barefoot Fusion Walk instead. Had my phone on me and it tracked me for 1.75 miles worth of stepping.
I think I'll have to head to the gym tonight and add some milage in and get a shower.
New drain field and septic system coming in on Tuesday so our life will we return to normal water usage in about a week. YAY!!0 -

I would have thought walking a colicky grandbaby would have got me a few more steps but I guess doing the baby sway doesn't count steps... Oh well.... I did get to outside - bundled them up and went out with the toboggan and feed the birds and went for a short walk. could only get as far as the snow plow had gone so wasn't very far... the 2 1/2 year old wanted to walk a little bit which was good because he slept for an hour in the tractor plowing snow with grandpa, Lots of fun outside tried to teach him how to make snow angels!!!0 -

I got outside today and I power walked a little over 7 miles! That felt awesome. My legs hurt so I may rest tomorrow. My son has a new puppy (German shepherd 9 weeks old) that is to be my walking partner. He managed to pretty well. My hope is he will slow me down this summer and we will walk longer and not faster.

Hi...new to this group and looking forward to walking with you all. I plan on walking 4 to 5 mornings a week before work. I have been doing 2 already but plan on improving on that. I usually do 2 miles but today only did 1 mile due to recent knee problem. It felt good so I am ready to go back to 2 miles, hope to increase to 3 on weekends when I have more time. Looking forward to the support found here....looks like an awesome bunch of people.☺0
