    Hi...new to this group and looking forward to walking with you all. I plan on walking 4 to 5 mornings a week before work. I have been doing 2 already but plan on improving on that. I usually do 2 miles but today only did 1 mile due to recent knee problem. It felt good so I am ready to go back to 2 miles, hope to increase to 3 on weekends when I have more time. Looking forward to the support found here....looks like an awesome bunch of people.☺

    Hi Newjeans and welcome to the group! This is a great group of walkers and we just Love Leslie and her walking programs. Do you have a favorite 2 mile walk? I try and walk daily either to Leslie or I get outdoors. It is cold today but I am thinking about layering up and getting out there.

    Since I'm new to this group, when do y'all typically start thinking about next month's challenge?
    Usually, texasgardnr posts the new walk challenge on the last day of the month, although I suspect we start thinking about it earlier based on how we are doing. I start thinking about it when I look at my calendar for the next month and compare my calendar and results for this month. Since I HATE to not make my goal, I adjust accordingly. For example, there are only 29 days in February, so I might back off a bit since it is a short month and I have a zillion meetings next month. When do the rest of you start thinking about next month's challenge?

    To answer your question Wannabealoser2 and zichab....I start thinking about next month a week prior. I too adjust my miles with the next months scheduled activities. I am thinking about scaling back a few miles next month but as soon as I even think about it I change my mind. LOL

    I just did Walk to the Hits for the first time today. Wow, I think I need more room to move for that one. Took me a bit to figure out the twist move during the HIIT moments but it's a 3 mile routine.

    Thanks for the welcome ladies. Today I did 2 miles with the 5 Day Slim Down DVD. I have a few other dvd's. Deeder, the Walk To The Hits is a good one with the HIIT going on! Apparently it is real good to raise the heartrate quickly for a small amount of time before bringing it down again.I know it is a good workout. I am going to finish out the month with 2 miles a day, then start February with 2 miles during the week and 3 or 4 on wekends.Hope I am not setting too high a goal for a newbie. PinkyPan, my favorite 2 mile is the belly blasting walk, I like the extra core workout, don't know how many days I will get the core in, aiming for 2 when walking. My husband I workout with free weights 3 days a week, just starting easy, and I do core then. looking forward to being part of this group.

I need to end strong this month or these holiday pounds are going to take forever to get off. Why was it so much easier to lose 100 pounds than it is to lose 10!!!!! :grumble:

    The weather is drunk!! Night before last it rained for 2 hours here!!! So much for walking outside unless you have spikes. It is only Zero and -1 Celsius. Highways were scary too!!

    I have 4 days to make goal - eeekkkk Unfortunately the curling bonspiel for this weekend was cancelled and I was counting on it to get more steps in...so I am home and I should only have to leave for errands on Friday. have to get some book work done though so best set the timer on the stove so I have to get off my chair and turn it off.... and make a few trips around the house!!

    I start thinking and adjusting my goal the last week of each month.

    Bravo, 2020pinktogo making your goal!!

    zichab, I may require an intervention! When we tee'd off it was 46 degrees and 25 mph winds. I was freezing but by hole 5 I was actually sweating. It took us 5 hours to golf and the temp was up to 58 degrees when we were done. My husband just asked me if I wanted to to golf again today. We are waiting for a rain shower to pass through and then we will see if there is still time to get to there.

    So I am going to miss my goal this month. Had a rough week this week and was so exhausted I didn't even walk this week. I feel so bummed out!! I was so close this month!

    I may have to readjust my goals for February and see what happens. I need a little pick-me-up! :'(

    It's the last day of January! What!!!??? It went so fast. I'm down 2pounds it looks like. :)

    LOL you are definitely going to need some couch time over this! However, it does make walking go fast. I have hiked in super cold weather as well and a few feet up the mountain, it might as well be 80 degrees F. Enjoy it!!! :drinker:

    It sounds like work is making a lot of us nuts this month. You know, we could stop eating so we do not have to work anymore???? :laugh:

    I miss texasgardnr and AnnofB. I hope they are both OK and just having a crazy month like the rest of us!
