Thanks Ab! I'm trying to breathe and not dig myself any deeper. Sad thing is I ate my dad's sugar free candy stash so now I have to shamefully explain myself and buy him more.0
-
Unfortunately I did not know this and am currently experiencing the violent after effects... I will now consult with you before bingeing.0
-
Hahhahah "violent effects....." That is so unfortunate. Not funny but your use of language is amazing.0

A long time ago I read Amazon reviews for sugar free gummy bears and they are hilarious and horrific. It's one diarrhea story after another.0

Never, ever again will I eat sugar free candy. EVER!! UGH!0

The next time I find myself unable to produce, I may find some sugar free candy I hope you are feeling better.
Low carb. Y'all, why did I poo poo this for so long? This is day four of low carb. No desire to binge. I ate two bites of cheesecake last night and stopped. No cravings for my usual binge triggers. I am stuffed. Best off all, did I mention that I have no desire to binge? I really think that carbs are a dietary black hole for me. All these years I have avoided certain foods because they are "bad". (Bacon, cheese, sausage, steak!!!). Yet in four days I have dropped four pounds and have not binged or wanted to. I like it!
It feels too good to be true.0 -
I'm glad it's working so well for you! I had a different experience, but I feel like it really depends on the person. Prior to trying LCHF, I NEVER ate fat. I never cooked with oil, never ate cheese, avocado, etc. Of course when I binged sometimes there was more fat involved, but it was usually higher carb binges (still is). I was terrified of eating fat, and LCHF helped me to overcome that and I also lost weight pretty fast and was awesome for a couple of months.
However, the way I felt about fat previously then became the way that I felt about carbs. Although I've always avoided carbs like bread, rice, pasta, grains, etc. LCHF made me terrified of fruit and vegetables, which I had always eaten a lot of. I got really obsessed with this, and then when the holidays hit I couldn't avoid eating carbs and I just could never bounce back. I think it's definitely sustainable if you really love bacon, cheese, eggs, steak, etc. I like them, but most of the time I like vegetables more so for me it wasn't sustainable and I feel like it's a big part of the reason this binge cycle has been so much bigger and longer than others. I feel like I'm making up for lost time.
So many people have amazing experienced with LCHF, and I may be the exception. Also, considering my history of various eating disorders and weird food obsessions and sometimes illogical beliefs surrounding food it makes sense that ultimately it didn't work for me. But I guess all I want to say is if the reason you feel it's working so well is because you can finally eat the things you've normally considered bad and denied yourself, that may happen with carbs too. Keep us posted though! I don't mean to send mixed messages. I really think it's amazing you're having such success with it and I know lots of people do, but just as a fellow binge eater has gone down this road wanted to share my experience!0 -
I should also mention a lot of people say they feel full or really satisfied on LCHF, and I didn't. I don't ever get full. So I think that may have been part of my problem, is I just seem to have a disconnect as far as hunger cues go. Since it sounds like you've found it satisfying, then it's definitely a better solution for you than it was for me! And DEFINITELY awesome if it's helping with bingeing! I didn't binge as frequently either when I was doing LCHF, but I wasn't in one of my binge cycles at the time either! And I've tried to do LCHF while in my binge cycles and I just can't commit haha!0

Where is the do over button???0

@Ab, I hear you. And I am still trepidatious. But I am very, very encouraged. That's something I haven't been for a long time!
Being bingers and weird restrictors can really screw up our metabolisms. This rapid loss may just be my body saying, "WTF?!?!"

I'm so glad to hear you're encouraged, if it's helping with bingeing then it's definitely worth a shot!
I fell asleep around 11:30 last night and have been up since 2 AM. It's now 5:10, and I have to get up in an hour or hour and a half. I have two important meetings that I always dread on Mondays because I HATE public speaking (even though it's just discussion style I get super anxious) and I also have an internship. It's going to be a long day, and I imagine I'll feel tired. Hoping I don't binge when I get home.0 -
Yes - 9 days is awesome!!0

Actually worked out yesterday afternoon for half an hour on the treadmill as we got the TV set up in my exercise room. Even my daughter was in there. Awesome as we can watch pretty much anything while working out. I hope I can keep it up.0

This weekend was okay. I stayed under my calorie goal both days, and even got some walking/jogging in on Sunday. I made my boyfriend take me out for dinner Sunday night because I had eaten so little all day, I needed some calories! Went to Stir Crazy and I had my favorite 580-calorie salmon dish... yum yum. And now it is once again Monday and I am not looking forward to work.0

I started C25K today. Since I already have a little bit of running under my belt, the first day was pretty easy. I also caught a look at myself in the mirror at the gym and literally said, out loud, "OH MY GOD" because I couldn't believe how much weight I've lost. I'm also trying to step up my strength training a bit. I figure I'll do it 3 times a week instead of 2. Did a lot of arm and chest stuff today... gonna feel it tomorrow LOL.0

@Ab, I am a freak. I actually enjoy public speaking I hope you can get some rest tonight.
@betrue95 Good job on the half hour workout.
@RespectTheKitty -I tried C25K but my knees couldn't handle it. So envious of you!
Well, I knew it was too good to be true. The scale showed a four pound gain But....still no desire to binge, so I still feel like I'm winning.
And I can't help but think of our fearless leader who is enjoying Disney with his family right now! Wonder how many miles he'll walk per day?0 -
No desire to binge is a huge deal, that's the most important thing! With that will come weight loss anyway.
Tuesday's are a day in which I almost always binge. I'm already feeling stressed and didn't plan my meals well. I made it a point to eat a bigger breakfast than usual to hopefully get me through the day for longer so I can mostly eat snacks until I come home. Not sure that's the best idea. Will see how it goes.0 -
Keeping fingers crossed for you, @ab6046.
I had a larger than usual breakfast this morning because I was just so HUNGRY. Sometimes I wonder if I'm not eating enough because I frequently go to bed feeling peckish. Last night was worse than usual... I had to have a rice cake with peanut butter before bed because I was just so hungry.
I got out of bed early this morning because my IBS decided I was going to. So I had a chance to stop at Starbucks on the way in and got myself a 500-calorie breakfast sandwich. This better last me til lunch.0 -
Just checking in to let you all know I am alive. I am beyond worn out and we are only on our second day at the park. Lots of walking and carrying the kids. No binging yet really not eating much outside of the dinner buffets and even that not really over doing it. Here is a family picture in front of the castle I hope you are all doing well.

Yeah, you might want to stay where you are, because it's not going to get much better any time soon in Illinois.0

My thought for the day..... I was in the Pita Pit where they know me very well.
I was asked about my work, and was whining about how my easy job is getting very difficult and stressful.
I was expecting sympathy, but her reply was.... " I guess you better step up your game. "
I was really quite pleased by the reality check. So, that's my catch-phrase for awhile.
Does anyone else find that the large image attachments mess with the formatting on their screen?
