Yesterday was a good day. I have been struggling since my dad passed away last April, not really eating right and not taking care of myself as I should. I have been keeping up my walking when I could, but it was a chore, not really something I enjoyed. I would try to find pretty places to walk so at least I could enjoy the environment, but the walking was still a struggle some days. But yesterday, I was out on the bike path and I realized I was enjoying walking. I liked the way I felt, I found a challenging but comfortable pace and the cramps that kept trying to start up in my calves were something I could deal with, not an excuse to quit or just another reason I hated to walk. I was actually disappointed that I had to turn around and head back to the car so I could make it to work on time. I had almost forgotten what it was like to have fun walking, and I hope this continues.

Added 4.5 miles for a May total of 77.5 miles

Oh Taxmom, I am so glad that you had an enjoyable walk. I sure hope this is the beginning of many more. You certainly deserve it.

Did some gardening yesterday and added another 5.25 miles walking too. I was hoping to get a quick walk around the block this morning before I headed off to work, but as I opened the front door, the skies opened and the rain is coming hard and fast. I hope it stops so I can get out this afternoon instead.

    May total 82.75 miles

CONGRATS on hitting goal, ANACONDA & CLEPANT!

Ah animals. They bring us so much joy in their lives and so much sadness in their passing. I once saw a Peanuts cartoon that I think helps. Charlie Brown says to Snoopy "One day we are going to die." Snoopy responds, "But on all the other days we won't." Here's to all the wonderful animals that brought us joy on the "other days."

Too hot in Florida to run, so I went for another bike ride. I'm at 62/75. I'm trying to get to goal this weekend because next week we start our migration north.

So, I took a nasty fall yesterday during my run. I landed hard on my left side, scraping my upper thigh and knee pretty bad. I'm most concerned about my upper arm. It hurts. X-ray shows nothing is broken, but I likely bruised a bone. At least it wasn't the recently repaired right shoulder. :| ETA: 2.88 miles total including the walk back to the car after the fall.
