    I live in a small town called Grantsville which is 35 miles west of Salt Lake City Utah. We moved out here 33 years ago to raise our kids. It is a great place to raise a family, but our 5 kids are all married and moved away. Oh well that just gives us plenty of places to visit. We are in the middle of the valley between two gorgeous mountain ranges, the Stansbury mountains and the Oquirrh mountains. There are lots of places to hike, fish, rock climb and enjoy! We enjoy all four seasons, but Fall is my favorite, especially when I'm out picking yummy vegetables from my garden which the pesky deer enjoy too, ha!ha!

    Hi Team 6!

    My name is Amanda. I apologize for posting so late. I have started off this first week with STREP. :( Lucky me!

    I currently reside in a suburb of Jackson, MS but I travel a great deal with work. Jackson has a few museums and many historical sights to visit. The capital is also doing a great job of trying to incorporate more healthy activities for the community. Just last week the county fair was here. Not necessarily the healthiest food to eat, but I guess you can "balance" everything out with the amount of the walking you do. (At least that's my excuse)!

    I am currently halfway through my training for a half marathon in January and need some extra motivation to get there. I enjoy having an active and healthy lifestyle. But motherhood and work both make it difficult to maintain a consistent schedule. Accountability will be one of the keys to my success.

    I look forward to participating in this challenge with you all! Hopefully I'll feel better soon!

    Hi, my name is Alisa and I live in the beautiful Salt Lake Valley, Utah surrounded by the most beautiful mountains in the world! I have access to hundred of hiking trails within a half hour from my home and thousands of hiking destinations within an hour drive. This picture is from a hike last week. 0sdrox4xbpqx.jpg

    I live in Utah and have been recruited by Shauna. We have been good friends for about 14 years and have enjoyed exercising together for about 13 years.

    I am a mom of 3 kids and shuttle them around after school to their activities. I've been running races since I was a freshman in high school and have enjoyed running really my whole life. I have been married for 18 years and love hiking with my family. I lead hands on science activities for elementary kids twice a week at a local school and have been doing that for 2 years.

    I'm looking forward to an adventure with this race. Let's have some fun!

    @MissionEnforcer

    I think I am supposed to say more about where I live for @MissionEnforcer

    I live just south of Salt Lake. We love the mountains and all the trails available in the area. My family visited the Fifth Hot Springs yesterday. It was awesome-although we all smelled like sulfur after getting in the hotspring pools. A fun adventure!

    I have a question does a member still have to be accountable for the challenge, IF either they go on vacation OR get sick. Plus is there a day they have to opt out.

    (I thought of this just driving to pick up hubby) that one of my teammates came down with strep. I'll have to go read over all the posts.

    Sorry, this never cross my mind, :)
    Jackie
    I'm glad you asked because we are heading toward the end of the week with a few non-participants.
    The spreadsheet closes at 9:00 p.m. PDT. All exercise minutes and challenge points must be entered by then. By MONDAY (PDT), @MissionEnforcer will post the new spreadsheet. IF REQUESTED BY THE TEAM CAPTAIN OR CO-CAPTAIN, non-participating players will be switched out from the Wait List. However, if a player comes down with a bad illness, gets injured, or "real life" gets in the way, they may take a week off (although this will hurt the team!). They MUST let their team know what it going on. If they decide to leave the game, they need to inform their Team Captain or Co-Captain immediately & they need to inform me or @MissionEnforcer ASAP!
    There are no "substitutes". Once a player leaves the game, they may not come back unless they put their name back on the bottom of the Wait List and see if an opening occurs later in the game.
    LOGGING DAILY IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED SO THAT YOUR TEAM KNOWS YOU ARE STILL WITH THEM!!
    That is another reason why it is a very good idea to get the challenges completed early in the week! By the weekend, something might come up and you won't be able to do them, thus greatly hurting your teammates!

    Thank you for asking!! :)

    The internet keeps freezing up, :( This is the third time, I've tried to type this!

    Everyone is doing a fabulous job in inputting their information into the spreadsheet. We still have a couple of days for the challenges. The weekends are hard for me since my husband is off.

    Tomorrow, I'm really glad the weather says NO rain since my husband has a tournament. That mean, I'll be able to get a couple good walks in!

    @MissionEnforcer

    I have accepted or sent requests to all team members.
    I live near Portland, Oregon USA I am in one of the BEST parts of Oregon as far as the proximity to all the different areas to see. We are two hours from the West coast beaches, One hour from the hot dessert and one hour from the beautiful Mountain for some snow time fun. I am on the outside of town in a suburb named Fairview in what we call the "Gateway to the Columbia Gorge" (the Windsurfing Capital of the US NOT counting Hawaii)

    OK trying to think of MORE info for you all...LOL

    My town is on the Columbia River which is the border of Oregon and Washington State. We have the BEST fishing here you can catch the biggest Sturgeon to the smallest perch only 2 miles from my house. I am about 15 miles from the world renowned "MULTNOMAH FALLS" People come from EVERYWHERE to see the falls we have here in the gorge, AND hike some of the STEEPEST and most BEAUTIFUL trails that cut back through The MT HOOD forest. Speaking of hiking trails, the movie "WILD" was filmed only 30 miles from were I live.

    @MissionEnforcer

    I am still waiting on @lewiann but all others have been added as friends.

    Just laying here in the Jacuzzi trying to convalesce lol. I pushed myself as far as I could on the Mt Olympus trail then booked it down the mountain just as the darkness was falling. There was quite a haze over the valley today. Not so pretty in the daytime but it sure makes for some nice sunsets.

    Stopping by from Team Five to offer some encouragement for everyone!

    So I was doing my Saturday morning kpop fangirl thing when I came across this YouTube video of 40 toughest kpop dances (fan made, so my opinion was different).

    https://youtu.be/59fwEoHmX5I

    Some of the dancers look like they're weightless at how fast they move their feet.

    I read an article about the rigorous kpop training industry. If you notice in interviews, the idols are very humble and grateful that they get to do their passion. And this is why:

    In Korea, musicians are not 'discovered' like they are around the world. They first audition as a young teen, even so far as 12 years old for one member from BigBang.
    Once they pass the audition, they sign with a label as a 'trainee'. They then practice relentlessly dancing, singing, and acting for an average of 2-5 years before they're even allowed to debut. One member of Beast spent 7 years before his debut.

    They can be cut at anytime, perform weekly for the president of the label, and are criticized constantly to weed out the 'weaklings'. The emotionally strong and determined continue to train until finally being allowed a debut.

    They leave their families at an early age and move to Seoul to pursue their dreams.

    After reading about how hard an entire group of people will work to obtain their dream, and even knowing over 72% will never even debut in their life, what are you going to do today to achieve your goals?

    Nothing is unobtainable in life. You want to be a king? Form a monarchy.
    You want to play soccer in England? Start dribbling a ball at the park.

    Make a goal, form a plan, find your passion, and do it.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Hi, I am Adrianne! I too am a friend of Captain Shauna! I live in the Salt Lake Valley love it here. I am loving this team. It is so fun to see people cheer me on each time I exercise! I like to run. In fact, I haven't really had any success with any other form of exercise though I am willing to try most things once. This week besides running I went to a boxing class so I am branching out. I am a mom to the 5 best kids ever. Here is a family picture from last Halloween. a3omsqjtna5a.jpg
