Not thrilled with my effort in dog sweater knitting. Awful wool, which wasn't cheap. It unravelled as I knitted. Must look for English wool if the mills haven't all closed down! Jilly not thrilled either, but here she is.
Anne, no longer a knit wit, lol.
PS the sweater is 11.5 inches long which will give an idea of her size. She was a big hit in the wool shop. There was a knitting circle in progress and some of the ladies thought she was a cat! What a Cheek!

Red is her color!! Beautiful girl! Thank you for the pictures. Yes, I saw both of them. I just click on or touch them. I was wondering about wool, I think I'll stay away from it. I don't have enough talent to spend big bucks on supplies. Lots to do today around home. We took the huge area rug outside draped over a patio table, and I've attempted to wash it. I soaked it with the water hose, sprayed it with scrubbing bubbles, let it sit and rinsed it. Then Jim helped to flip it and do it on the other side. I felt like my shampoo machine wasn't enough. We'll see how it turns out. It is a braided rug and I would like to save money by downsizing it myself instead of buying a new one. I'm thinking I could do one side at a time(rectangular). Trim the amount I want to remove. Put a small edge of tape on it, then using my supply of denim, hand sew a binding edge over that. There may be enough scraps for small rugs.
Same problem with so much wiring! While we moved all those TV things, there were wires that we didn't use, all twisted in with the others. A telephone line was run the the back of the DVR, but I don't know if it is supposed to be plugged in! We get our on demand without it so I'll leave it off. Now we are having a few problems with the signal and don't know if we caused it. Still working right now. Sigh.
Marcella, thats my daily wake up, only the cat(s) want breakfast!! I try to pretend I'm still asleep.
Lin, hope you have good weather for your activities, I'm enjoying this fall weather, doors and windows open. We are in a drought again. Last year at this time we had lots of rain because our air show was rained out. It will be warm and dry this time.
Shirley, have a wonderful visit with Isaac, I'm glad you will be there for Halloween.
Sandy, are you at Babe's now? To Daisy's delight!! I'll check in on the Cubs tonight. Jim and I are for them.
Patsy, hope your storms are passing without damage. Does Katie enjoy the rain? Honey doesn't, but she manages to go out to potty if she Must or Bust!
Time for lunch, I can hear a squirrel complaining, probably talking to a cat!

Happy Tuesday!
I am back from Robby's and getting ready to get my suitcase ready for Babe's house. He leaves for Mayo Clinic around 6 tonight so I hope to get a nap in before I go.
The ultra sound was good, baby is going to be tall but all looks good. Lisa posted a picture on Facebook, one of which I could see his face the other I had to ask what it was and was told it was a profile which I finally saw. I took Robby to the library reading class and it was very cute. All were two and the lady read two stories and sang songs and other fun activities. Robby seemed to like it a lot and participated in all.
I will have my IPad at Babe's which isn't as easy as my desktop but will try to pop in everyday.
I am hoping to walk Daisy as long as it doesn't get too cold. I am a baby. Not sure I will go to bingo tomorrow or my meeting on Thursday. I really want to stay home and watch the Cubs and Thursday Lisa has another doctor's appointment early in the morning so I need to get to bed early. Babe should be home Saturday if there are no complications or other tests.
I am really tired so need to try to take a short nap. Have a good day.

I've spent quite a bit of time unraveling the dog sweater, so disregard above photos. Friend Janice is popping over with a much better design leaflet tonight, so I guess I'll be knitting again tomorrow. I think Jilly is happy I've pulled the stuff I knitted apart. She is a very bouncy happy little thing, but didn't look very happy in my effort!

my blood sugar has really gotten high with taking this antibiotic Just talk with the doctor offoce and told me to increase my insulin to 10 units. The home nurse is cutting my home isit to one per week my stressed sore is finally heal.Still very touthie I guess needs more

Marie, good to hear from you but not happy to hear that you don't feel you are really healed yet. Boy they sure cut back on care in a hurry. So are you finished with that darn antibiotic soon ? I hope so. Hugs. Hugs. Hugs.

Buzz, I hope you got some rest today. I thought of you as I was on the phone multiple times--on hold--as I tried to get a few things accomplished. Got a bit of progress but many things left. Always pushing the rock up the hill!! I loved the photos. Your furniture is lovely by the way.

Patsy, does your son have his boat ready for winter? And it makes me somewhat ashamed to get so excited with my little coloring adventures when we have an actual artist in our midst. Thanks for humoring me.
Mah Jongg was interesting this morning as we had to relocate to the closest mall--there was no room for us this morning at the senior center with massive numbers of seniors wanting to talk to a SHIIP counselor about their RX plans. Yipes!!
Then off to get gas and to the library to pick up some books. The Tuesday afternoon Mah Jongg group was there so I watched them play a game. They play faster but even with that a game still took over a half hour. Interesting.
Home to lunch, more tossing out garden stuff. My trash can is small and it will take a few weeks to get everything put out.
Updated the software on this iPad and now I am off to REI for an evening class.
Tomorrow early it will be Tai Chi/Qigong followed by coloring and a trip to HyVee for 10% off health market day.

Anne - Loved the doggy sweater. I'm sure the next one will look nice too. Jilly will probably be a bit more thrilled with the sweater when it gets cold outside this winter.
Phoebe - I'm curious to hear how the rug turns out.
Today has been a nice day. Late Sunday night, my son left his I-Phone6 on a downtown park bench. When he noticed that he had forgotten it, he returned to the bench only to find that it was gone. Today, we received a call from the person who had picked it up. He noticed the phone and wanted to make sure the owner got it back. Our son is one very happy (and fortunate) young man. It's always nice to know that there are some very nice people out there willing to go a bit out of their way for someone else.

Not so happy Wednesday! Cubs lost the first game, it looks like I will have to go back to my own house to watch the 2nd game with my friend. Not that I am superstitious or anything.
Babe is having tests done this morning so I probably won't hear from him until later. It is a gloomy, dreary day so I won't be walking Daisy.
Marcella, I am happy that your son got his phone back and glad there are some good people in this world. I would do the same, I am a firm believer in honesty.
Lin, I did get a short nap in yesterday but since I didn't sleep well today might warrant another. I just got a book from our village and they offer a lot of senior stuff so I might be checking some of the activities. I like they have a gym with classes so that might be something I might pursue.
Marie, sorry your blood sugar is so high, but please listen to your doctor and adjust your insulin as needed. Glad the pressure sore is healed but sorry it is still tender. Be patient, you have got this and hopefully will feel better in no time.
Anne, yeah, I don't think I would like a wool sweater either, they get so itchy. Hopefully, the new one is a more gentle yarn. It amazes me that you can just knit a sweater in one day, no matter how small. You have lots of talent, I am jealous.

Laptop computer at Babe's is acting strange or something is wrong with MFP. I had to toggle to full page to finish my post but there is no where to submit the post. When I bring it back down the submit button is not there. I am going to copy this to word and try later. (fixed it)

Not much going on today, I had choir last night and now we have 42 members in our choir, it is expanding. Our concert is on December 4th and it will be here before we know it.
I have an apt. with the diet clinic tomorrow so interesting to see how much they can tell me that I don't already know and what their plan is.

Okay, so I'm not the best knitter in the world, and Jilly ain't the best model! She's wouldn't stand up to pull the darn thing straight. Anyway, this is a totally different pattern from the previous unraveled one. Better? I don't think so. I should stick to drawing and definitely not join the knitting ladies at the "Wool Bin". Back to the pet stores to find something elegant for chilly Ontario mornings.

Adorable Jilly! No time after reading all the posts, but you've all covered what I would have said except for the trouble SANDY had with posting on MFP. It won't accept your post unless you sign in with you password if it doesn't recognize the computer! I had that all last week while Dell was working on m software! I just couldn't figure it out, but that's the answer! Gotta run get Mike and deliver his meds before dinner. so see ya'll manana!

The rug is doing ok so far. It has plenty of time to dry. There is no rain in the forecast.
Shirley, thanks for the oxyclean tip. That would've been better than scrubbing bubbles. The cats like sleeping on the rug draped over the table.
it'll be vacuumed when we bring it indoors.
I'm patching my comforter today. Tomorrow laundry. Friday ill probably visit my aunt. Saturday and Sunday we attend the airshow. Looking forward to that. Monday, pack up, and Tuesday we go to work

Tonight we are having Mexican chicken. The instant pot really saves time with that.

The last 2 days have been somewhat frustrating because after a swim yesterday morning I was popping back out to do a bit of shopping and noticed an ambulance parked up at the end of the lane and the door to the housebound neighbour I pop in to see open so I stopped and went to see what was happening and found a paramedic and 2 ambulance attendance sitting in her kitchen waiting for carers to hoist her into her chair. Unfortunately she has been taken to hospital because they feel she needs to be checked thoroughly and I know it's the last place she wanted to return to. Then in the evening I went to the yoga class at the local community hall where 7 of us sat and waited for the tutor who didn't turn up!! We think it being half term could have something to do with her absence although she had said "see you next week" when we left the previous class. Today, once a fog lifted, I did some work outside and then realised I'd not seen George for awhile..... found him trying to dig under the chicken wire to get at my hens and his face and legs were black and coated with mud. He went straight into the shower and lay all evening in front of the fire but when I let him out for his last pee about half an hour ago he disappeared again so I had to don wellies and a jacket and search for him with a torch. He was back at the chicken wire and beginning to look mucky again so I'm afraid I probably woke the neighbours as I told him off and guided him back to the cottage where I was tempted to throw him back in the shower except it's now close to 11pm so instead he's gone to bed with tail between his legs..
Anne ~ That's an adorable coat Jilly Bean has been knitted and if she's anything like George, once she's got used to wearing it she'll love it.
Sandy ~ don't worry, the honey extraction from the hive took place last week and I only got stung the once. The next process is to spin the frames in a drum so the honey flies out and runs to the bottom and out into a bucket..... no bees involved!!
Having read all of your posts I really must get myself to bed because my plan is to be up early in the morning and visit the supermarket before the usual 9.30 walk. Here's that painting I bought on ebay of a Lhasa apso the spitting image of George, although not tonight with his mucky face!

Just got back from walkies. Jilly was as warm as toast! Can't resist showing you the full look! Mind you she had to be dragged out from under the coffee table before we went out. We got a few smiles. Goodnight from us, and no more photos, promise!

I have shocking (to me, anyway) news tonight. As I was preparing to relax after a very pleasant dinner with Mike and another couple, there was a knock on my door and a security staff asked me to accompany her to the 3rd floor. I insisted she explain why, and her answer was "He's gone!" I think I can truthfully say I simply was not prepared, and still cannot believe it! I am not feeling like sleeping, and I needed to share this with my dear Sneaker friends. His depression was so sad to watch, and I can only hope he is in a better place now! Buzz 0

Buzz, indeed such a shock for you ,us, and all of his friends there. I'd noticed that from your information, he was declining but I didn't think he was ready as long as he had his oxygen. I was concerned about his difficulty with eating, but I thought it would take quite a while for that to affect him.
I am sending hugs to you, wish it was more. You took such good care of him. I hope he is his old bright happy self now. You will see him again. Much love to you.

Dearest Buzz, I'm so very sorry and like you, shocked to learn that Mike has gone. If we do go to a better place then for sure he'll be there because his decline in health would never have been what he'd have wanted or expected. Thank goodness you are surrounded by good friends who can now offer you the support you've so often extended to them.
You know I'm thinking of you and send hugs and my love.

Buzz, while i have only known you for short time really, it is true that there seems to be a connection that is beyond understanding. I understand your loss and a feeling of relief that Mike is no longer suffering. It is really important for you to remind yourself, you did take such amazing care of your sweetheart. You constantly teach us about pushing through tough situations, dealing with life's changes. We all wish we were at your side, holding your hand. We can't make it better but we can try to help shoulder some of the grief and loss. Reaching across the miles to walk beside you during this sad time.

Your response to Mike's passing is so uplifting, warm and enfolding, it reminds me thoroughly of the "thread that binds"! This morning was rather embarrassing as I broke down every time I met or spoke to someone. As the day wore on, my response to the shock and grief of others was to try to comfort them! My own reaction became more contained. By evening (yes, I went down to dinner as originally planned), I was able to become part of the group and actually handled all my empathizing friends without breaking down! So I am not too worried about my reaction to the planned service on Sunday at 2 PM, as I am among very caring people simply sharing a similar grief for a man who loved kidding with humanity and was welcomed and loved by just about everyone who knew him. I either missed the many subtle clues, or misunderstood his rapid decline, but the entire professional staff did the same thing! Everyone reacted with shock and disbelief, and a huge outpouring of affection and sympathy. From wherever. Mike had to be beaming back! Our granddaughter from Hawaii/Oregon, called to say she is coming on Saturday and would like to stay several days, and our corporation is not charging me for the mini-suite she will be using! Another new friend sitting at our dinner table insisted on picking Meg up at the airport, and I invited myself along! Here it was, less than 24 hours following the shocking loss, and I was able to look forward to life again! Mike's musician DD is planning to speak and also use her iPod to play his very favorite music, Exodus, and his kids (middle aged!) will all be here, while mine are trying to decide if it would be better to be here after the memorial and crowds have dispersed, leaving me more alone. Either choice is fine with me, as truly I feel suddenly stronger and understand I am not alone! The hospice Social Worker called and offered help and advice plus counselling if necessary, and I cannot praise that group enough for everything they gave us both! I highly recommend considering them if the need arises, and it is not true one must leave Medicare or HMO's any longer! The groups work together seamlessly! In our case, even the VA cooperated with both and all medications (plus every comfort imaginable) were covered by one or the other!
I do hope my experience will be of some help in the future,...and may no one need it for a very long time!

MARIE, I hope you continue to improve, dear little sis, and do not rush to do more than you are comfortable doing so you don't relapse! You and your dear Jerry must try to stay well!
