Back on a reasonable diet. Off to the pool for a swim. Video's in the morning.4

I didn't get my typical 4am workout today.....decided on sleep instead. But, I will walk tonight to get at least 60 more minutes on the spreadsheet. Dance videos are done, so I will head to the spreadsheet to record this.
So.......do we typically have someone post a bartender for the weekend? If so......I am a happy camper.

I, of course, always remain above all that silliness!

OK, I have a "miles" dilemma. And maybe I'm just overthinking it.
I am very adamant about only counting intentional exercise, and not just physical activity. Intentional exercise (per my opinion) means whatever it is I am doing, is for the purpose of exercising and burning calories, as opposed to doing something for some other primary purpose and getting some physical activity as a secondary benefit. Simple rule of thumb - exercise generally requires special clothing or equipment. If I'm in regular clothing, it's activity not exercise.
So the dilemma.....yesterday and today I did not workout. However, because of that winter warrior challenge that I signed up for, I did walk the necessary minimum one mile outside. I wouldn't typically count walking as exercise. However, the only reason I did it was to fulfill that other challenge. It wasn't like I was just going out doing other things, and happened to walk a mile as a result. So do I count it????
And, if so, how much do I count? Usually I run. But because I had other things going on and had to build it into the middle of my day, and didn't have time to change clothing before and after, I walked instead. So because of that, the number of minutes, is almost double what it would have been if I ran. Do I count the actual number of minutes walked? Or should I count the number of minutes if I had changed clothes and ran the mile.

@ka97:
It was intentional and deliberate exercise. Running or walking, you still were exercising. All minutes should count. Don't be so hard on yourself!4 -
@ka97-you're definitely overthinking it lol! It's still exercise even if it's not as strenuous as what you usually do. Count the whole time.0
-
Count it. My walks at my son's practice aren't intense at all (morning ones are my tough workouts). These are to keep me moving instead of sitting on a chair and playing on my phone like all the other parents do. It's exercise, no matter how small it is.2
-
@ka97 happy belated birthday! Didn't check in yesterday or post my numbers because I brought work home again. Caught up now for the rest of the weekend. Definitely post your workouts. I do wii bowling with my mother a few times a week or tennis it gets her up and moving. She has arthritis in her hand very bad but I want her to exercise, she lives with us and this is the only way I can do it. I post those numbers but when I calculate with my watch we actually burn about a hundred calories or so in an hour.
I updated the spreadsheet and I finished my three days of orange challenge. Yum2 -
@smile_laughter the girls pick a really nick looking waiter for us and @Vowder usually gets himself a hot little waitress @junodog1 have fun on the cruise1

I totally agree with Hawkins
it is different when you count housecleening (dusting and vacuumcleaning) as a workout or making dinner a lot of people do that to but who are you fooling than?
I have my thought about that to because moving boxes or furniture or painting your house is pretty hard stuff so I think that counts as "workout" you don't do that every day I hope .....But there are so many people with so many opinions there will always be someone who has comment positive or negative.
So do what your heart says and you feel good at if walking is not good enough for you ( for me it is don't get me wrong) you don't count but if you do feel good about it count. You know in other teams there are persons with 180 min of workout everyday !!!!I hardly believe that they are jogging or running all those minutes everyday that is not good for a human body and also not possible! You know the best what to do but as hawkins say don't be to hard for yourself.

The picture says enough and for bringing a smile on your face:
It's 1957 and Bobby goes to pick up his date, Peggy Sue.
Peggy Sue's father answers the door and invites him in.
He asks Bobby what they're planning to do on the date.
Bobby politely responds that they'll probably just go to the malt shop or to a drive-in movie.
Peggy Sue's father suggests, "Why don't you kids go out and screw? I hear all of the kids are doing it."
Bobby is shocked. "Excuse me, sir?"
"Oh yes, Peggy Sue really likes to screw. She'll screw all night if we let her."
Peggy Sue comes downstairs and announces that she's ready to go.
About 20 minutes later, a thoroughly disheveled Peggy Sue rushes back into the house, slams the door behind her, and screams at her father, "Dad! The Twist! It's called the Twist!"
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch.
At the head of the table was a large pile of apples.
The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray,
"Take only one. God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
One child whispered to another, "Take all you want.
God is watching the apples."
A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with three young mothers and their small children.
"You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother, he said, "You are obsessed with eating.
You've even named your daughter Candy."
He turned to the second mom. "Your obsession is money.
Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny."
At this point, the third mother got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered, "Come on, Dick, let's go."
Have a great weekend lovely people

I think I have the flu. Came home sick from work. I don't know that I will get any minutes in today. I will try.0

@TamiJo1004: Take care of yourself! You are too valuable to get sick!
Just a little Saturday morning humor before I head out for a hike:
@Vowder: I understand puppies were recently born at your house4 -
Checking in from Cozumel. Added to the spreadsheet. See you Monday.6

Hello everyone! I am in fact still alive, I think. Remember that cold I told you about, it is still here. I think it is finally on its way out. It has been screwing with me since last Monday.
I have two challenges done and am still working on the orange fruit one, will be done by Sunday. Hoping to return to my normally scheduled activities tomorrow or Monday.
I love the bartender and and our new "gym" lol!6 -
@junodog1 sounds nice - enjoy Cozumel.
@mswanger09 great to see you check in! Great work and glad your cold is on the way out.
@TamiJo1004 oh no on the flu - hope it's not too horrible. Take care.
Looking good on the spreadsheet team! Stay strong because all the teams seem to be pouring it on this week. I'm going to try to add more today or tomorrow if I can but not sure if the travel schedule will allow.3 -
Thanks guys! I added my numbers to the spreadsheet. I decided just to count my Thur and Fri minutes as if I had ran a mile. But I did get in a long run this morning. And all challenges complete.2

My youngest son is competing at a swim meet this weekend. That puts me at a rec center for some 8 hours today. Well... I did poorly on Wednesday so I thought I would try to make up for it, today.
105 Minutes treadmill... (4 MPH at 4 degrees) Not as good as last Amazing Race but respectable.
45 Minutes swim. 20 minutes doing 100's Free at 1minute 35. 20 minutes doing 50's on 1-minute intervals at 39 seconds.
The puppies are 2 weeks old now. Here is a pic from about 1 minute ago.

Almost there with Week one!!! Very different race this time! Congratulations to our three team members that maxed out their minutes @cardbucfan @ejdp254 @GSXRGIRL61. But now they can't help us in the homestretch!!

@Vowder you rocked it today! Great job
@junodog1 I would love to go back to Cozumel on a cruise, just for the tequila I bought. Some wonderful peach flavor that you can drink straight without a pucker at all..yum
@mswanger09 glad you are getting better
@hawkins410 @MissionEnforcer I cannot thank you enough for getting this going again. I am loving it and it's keeping me moving during the dreary winter2 -
Good luck for the last stretch of week one ! It's a close race1

Hi team! I survived the Gasparilla festivities yesterday. I'm feeling it a bit today so glad I don't have to do any challenges or get more minutes! I will be (quietly as it hurts my head) cheering you on from the couch to beat those other teams.
@vowder-my older son swam all the way until he went off to college (and thank goodness he decided he didn't want to swim there!) so I know all about those all day swim meets. I still have the bleacher butt lines to prove it! Good job taking advantage of all the down time (and oh, the puppies!!!!)
@TamiJo1004 -feel better soon!
@junodog1 -enjoy that cruise!
@mswanger09 -glad to hear the cold is on its way out of town-we need you!2 -
Do our extra minutes go to help the team?0
