Me Vs The Binge -- February 2017 Challenge

Well this challenge is a challenge with yourself. The challenge is for you to win in the fight against "The Binge". Many of us struggle with binging and a few of us have found that making "The Binge" a person has helped us fight the emotions or urge to binge.
The objective of the challenge is to have more days for you (Me) than the "The Binge".
When you have a day you do not succumb to binge urges or binge give yourself (ME) a point. When you give in to the urge to binge you give 'The Binge" a point. No beating yourself up about it because tomorrow is another day. Honesty with yourself is crucial for it to help you and others.
So we keep score with ourselves the whole month. We encourage each other along the way. Please feel free to share your ups, downs, successes, struggles, etc. You will find you are not alone. See below for format. Feel free to use it or use your own format. This Challenge keeps you mindful of binging and the daily support and accountability helps also.
Check in often. The more you check and share the better you will do for the month. So are you in? You are stronger than “The Binge.” One day at a time.

You know I started just to drop out of this small little community after a two day BINGE. Does it really help any of the 2 or 3 of us that come here to pat each other on the back when we fail. I'm so mad at myself this time because I had such a good streak going and a 2 night BINGE put 5lbs back and pushed me back in the being OVERWEIGHT by BMI science. I use my Faith, an accountablity buddy and this community to stay on track. I think I'll stay silent for a while with the words and just pray I see your DBF raise against the SOB.

@hillmike56 - My personal feeling is that there should be no shame associated with this. There are real and true chemical issues behind the condition. That being said, as long as we never quit fighting, the binge cannot win the WAR. It might when battles here and there, but so do we with every choice. Every day we go to bed without losing. And just remember this - every lesson you have learned along the way, no matter how painful or rude, is making you stronger, and preparing you to fight back smarter, and harder. And the simple fact is - you know you made your good streak going there...that means it's moot for the binge to argue back yet - because IF YOU HAVE DONE IT ONCE, YOU KNOW WITHOUT DOUBT THAT YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN. So how is that not winning? Sending you the strongest of spirit-renewing-hugs...
I'm fighting back against an ongoing health condition right now in spades, actually 2 that like to piggy-back off each other, and the binge is in my face constantly...and just typing this out to you reminded me that I have won this exact battle before, so now at least the lying binge voice in my head isn't convincing me anymore than it is impossible for me to win... So thanks for sharing your struggles. It's helping me to fight back against my own. (hugs)3 -
Mike, I know exactly what you mean. I had a terrible January. And it seemed everyone else was doing so well that I just .... disappeared. But that doesn't mean that I didn't check in to see how everyone else was doing, because even if I was struggling, it made me feel better to see you, and Mae, and KristyKris, and so many others doing well. I cheered every day when you won the battle. If you go silent, I'll understand -- been there so many times myself -- but I'll still be cheering you on.4

I found that after each of the binge days I had last month I considered not posting because of the shame and feeling like a failure. The thing is, we all know what those days/weeks feel like and there's no judgement. If I knew about this group last year, I am pretty sure each month would have had 97% binge days from me!
I actually think it would be really intimidating to jump in and participate in the group if everyone was always doing really well. We are all human, and all battling something that is bigger than us.
We all understand if you don't feel like saying much, but are all here if you need to. Hang in there xo

It's kind of hard for me to do this on a points system, since wanting to binge is like, a running marquee in the back of my head at all times... but so far I have 7 days binge free! I haven't gone a week without binging in a VERY long time.5

@Nevadaden - thank you... That is sweet that the successful days made a difference on your path too.
@hillmike56 - I've been a part of this community for almost 2 years now and I never go more than a few days without checking in and being accountable. So for me it's not about the pats on the back, it knowing that y'all are here working through the same struggles. Y'all have helped me tremendously. Hang in there.

I've been gone a while, and pretty much threw health to the wind. I can see, and feel, the difference and it's not good. I need to stop making excuses, and I need to make myself and my health a priority, no matter what life throws at me. I don't have the energy to maintain healthy habits when I'm stressed...but the reason I don't have the energy is because I'm unhealthy! It's a Catch-22! I need to suck it up for a while to get that energy back, and then it will be easier to maintain those habits when bad days happen. I remember on Whole30 it wasn't long before my husband and I felt great! We had so much more energy, and we were happier and more productive because of it. We're not going to do a strict Whole30 again, but we are going back to eating mostly clean and taking daily walks.
