Sandy, I live in a two story house with a basement. Everything I use each day seems to require up and down stairs. Non perishable foods in the basement, laundry in the basement, laptop on first floor, printer on second floor, craft supplies on the second floor. Plus I do not sit down much, I stand and keep walking around, I walk when I brush my teeth or talk on the phone, waiting for the water to boil for tea..l just keep moving. When I am nervous I pace around. So far I cannot hold a book and read and walk as there are too many things to run into......I might figure it out some day.

Oh no Marie, I hope all is well from your visit to the ER. Please let us know what happened.

Happy Sunday, Funday!! Superbowl Day! I will be meeting up with friends to watch the commercials, I mean game. Will ride my bike before I go since they have free hot dogs and chili at half time and yes I am going to cheat and eat and drink!! I will regret it tomorrow but I need a break. Tomorrow I go for my yearly mammogram which is always fun. NOT!!!

Buzz, the 30 day shred is a workout program with Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser. It is intensive with lots of cardio such as jumping jacks, push ups and working with weights for strength. It was just too much for me now that I am older. I will take some of the strength exercises and do them moderately but riding my bike is more my style.

Lin, you and Barbie are a lot a like as far as not sitting still for long. I think I would get dizzy if I kept walking around my apartment since it is not that big!! When I am with Robby I gain a lot of steps just playing with him, so he is good for my health. :p

I don't have a preference in the game today so I am going to cheer on the Falcons for Marcella and for Phoebe who lives in Georgia!! I will wear a red sweater in their honor!!
    Have a great day!

Whew Marie, glad you are home

Scary news for us today. Our best friends are in Florida for 3 months. The husband had a heart attack and had 4 stints put in. Yikes. Still in ICU but doing well.

Too close to home. Another extremely close friend lost her husband in December. I guess these things will continue to happen as we age but I am shocked and saddened by it.

MARIE, sounds like you had a hypoglycemia attack, which is more dangerous than high sugar! Are you checking your sugar 5 times a day? Be sure to ask your doctor how to avoid low sugar and always have something near you to immediately raise the sugar, like a sugar pill or orange juice. Mike used to love oreo cookies and milk, but his doctor was not happy with his choice!!! Take care, li'l sis; we all worry about you! And love you <3

No Patriot fans here? My Boston roots tell me I should care, but in truth, I never developed that side of me. I guess I feel the money they earn would be better spent researching some of the serious ills that trouble humans, like diabetes , CA, or Alzheimers! Few fans agree with me, so I don't dare mention it where I live, especially tonight!

    Bedtime...

Good day for me. Got in just over 11,000 steps and fracked every bite. Even had room for a small glass of wine. Life is good.

Ugh. The Atlanta Falcons lost in the first every Superbowl overtime. :'(
    Well, maybe next year.
    Wishing everyone a wonderful week,

Cold and wet walk this morning so once home and a mug of coffee inside me I got on line and booked a trip to the Chelsea Flower show at the end of May for myself and friend. Coach to London and the show one day then after an overnight a visit to our RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) gardens that I last visited over 25 years ago. I think it's always important to have something like this to look forward to.

Read all the posts but have to admit NFL holds no interest for me so instead I watched our rugby teams competing when England only just managed to beat France. Also the Davis cup when a rather over enthusiastic young Canadian talent lost his match by default after whacking a tennis ball in the direction of the umpire.... gave him a black eye!!

Marie ~ I'm relieved to see you are home and sorting your levels out. Do please be careful because you mean the world to us all. <3

It's a task this week to empty my freezer in order to defrost it so am now off to make a quorn chilli that will remove a couple more items from the trays. Earlier I cleared the kitchen cupboards and washed everything down where that pesky mouse had been snooping before succumbing to the poison. No sign of a body but apparently when I was away a dead mouse was found next to the cat food container, possibly Brady leaving a gift!

    Have a good Monday.

    Good morning-

Jackie, oh my, what a WONDERFUL trip to have coming up in May. Oh my!!! Do you see me turning green? I have heard so much about that show. It will be a fantastic trip!! And good for you on cleaning things out. You are doing some early spring cleaning. (Glad the mouse remains were found by the way!). I didn't watch any of the game, or the half time activities or the commercials, I was knee deep in my ha-ha creative pursuits. I watched a bit of Victoria.

    Jeri, great step total!! WTG!

Marcella, sorry about the Falcons. I cannot believe they lost for what I heard this morning. :(

Buzz, good to hear from you. I hope you have a lovely week and that you continue to take care of yourself. <3

    Marie, sending hugs. <3

Hi Sandy and Shirley and Patsy and all Sneakers.

Off to finish my laundry. I did a bit of cleaning this morning and had to treat a slow drain. I opted out of the artist's gathering today in order to accomplish some other things. Wishing everyone well.

    Hugs.

Holy moly! We have snow. This is very unusual for the north Oregon coast. Wind? Yes! Rain? Yes! Snow? Rarely!!!! It isn't deep, maybe an inch. It has caused a snow day for the kids and many closures. We don't have snow plows and we have very steep San Francisco-like hills. Scary stuff.

Katie is so concerned about the snow she just stands at the door barking st it. Very annoying after what seems like hours of high pitched barking. She isn't real popular around here right now.

We are resorting to looking at old DVDs while exercising. The current films are lack-luster as far as we are concerned. We are currently watching The Martian again. I love this movie. I had to go back to 8 lb.Weights. The 10 lb. weights felt too stressful for my elbows. I am reading that damage often happens when we push exercise too hard especially when tired. The advice was to gear back a bit until feeling stronger then ease back into the heavier weights. Seems good advice but I always felt that we should push harder for a bit to gain strength. Also the suggestion of two exercise shorter periods a day...really? I can hardly get organized enough for one exercise period a day! I am a total wimp!

Marie! This blood sugar episode is scary and dangerous. Not sure what causes it but I had that happen and I had to change medication. The doctor says as we age, the meds act differently and we what we eat is metabolized inefficiently. Not sure why, but that just made me angry. I feel like a juggler trying to keep all the balls in the air. Diet, meds, exercise, and sleep...

Happy Monday! :) Well even though the Falcons didn't win, we had a good time. It was a great game, just not the ending I would have liked. I thought Lady Gaga did an amazing half time show, but I do like her voice and think she is very talented. I am doing laundry before I go for my mammogram and waiting to shower until I have to get ready since no deodorant. lol

Patsy, when I had my video call with my son yesterday he said more snow was predicted and the kids will have their 9th snow day. In Portland? He wasn't happy because he is a computer troubleshooter and his appointments get cancelled when the kids are home. I don't live with Katie, so I think it is funny that she barks at the snow, but I could see how it would be annoying.

Lin, there were no Clydesdales which really disappointed me. That is the one commercial I look forward to every year!!! The puppy bowl was cute although I didn't get to see the whole game.

Marie, so happy you are feeling good today. That diabetes can scare you when you have low blood sugar. I remember my mother pouring orange juice down my father's throat when I was young and it always scared me.

Jackie, your trip sounds amazing, always great to look forward to something that makes us happy. I am going to the casino for two days for my birthday in March, Florida in April and Washington DC in May. I like you, look forward to all of them.

Marcella, it was a heart breaker game that is for sure.

Jeri, although I rode the bike yesterday I did not stay within my calories and of course today showed a gain. It is so hard keeping on track all the time, but I will get back at it today.

    Have a great day!!

We were invited to a Super Bowl party too and I ate my share of snacks and we also had a dinner of ribs, wings and pasta salad. All good but got on the scale and all the sodium is showing now. Not too worry a day or so and that will come down. I really wasn't hooting for any particular team but was surprised to see New England at the finish. Oh, well another year, another game. Lady Gaga did a fabulous job at half time. We don't get the commercials here in Canada so nothing to compare from last year.

Marie I hope you are all better now, kind of scary hearing you were back in the ER. Take care and hope your levels stay now.

Jackie Your trip coming up sounds great and something to look forward to. We get mice at the cottage every year and they get into all kinds of stuff. So we have been putting all kinds of traps in the kitchen to catch them. A neighbor down the road comes and releases any dead critters. Their feces is very toxic.

I had my apt. at the orthopaedic surgeon today, he was so young, he looked 20 but I am sure he was older. Anyway, he gave me the okay to go back on my bike again but carefully. He agrees with my
chiropractor that its probably meniscus. My MRI is on the 14th of Feb so we will know more. I have another apt. March 1st to get my results. He suggested I save my money and no more chiropractor
apts for now. We leave on the 20th of Feb for Jamaica so thinking about that right now and what to take and pack.

Wednesday we are going to see Isaac until Thursday. I have a picture to share.
