I am so tired of this! This morning i was 334. Last night post dinner I was 375. My dr said he doesn't want to give me insulin. I am waiting for refer to endo. Hopefully they will do something to help me.

Well I don't know about that... I finally talked to him and told him my numbers today and he gave me another sample of Levemir. I also picked up the referral to the endochrinologist YAY.

7.8 (140). I was starting to panic because I was never, or very rarely, in the lower numbers. My endocrinologist told me on Monday that considering that 80% of my pancreas is atrophied, I'm doing okay. If I'm in the double digits(Cdn) and it's food related, then Once in awhile that's okay. So, I will snack better to avoid really high numbers, and do my best to stay in the 7's or lower.

6.9 (125). I got a cold. Haven't had one in years. Some woman was coughing across from me at the doctor's on Monday. There are huge signs that say, if you have a cough, wear a mask. Duh, how hard is that? She didn't even try to cover her cough with her sleeve or hand, just shared it with the room.

That's a great improvement! Sounds like you may not be producing much insulin....

I hope you can get to an endo soon and away from that quack GP who only gives you samples with BG over 300....

    What motivates me is Levemir!
My old insurance was $100 for 6 boxes of 5 pens each.
my new insurance is $1,125.77 for the same
    6 boxes :s

For me diet has the biggest effect on my glucose #s,
carbs in particular, so I eat as few of them as possible.
I don't eat high protein because a lot of that will raise my #s too.
To get my calories up closer to where they should be I
    eat fat. :)

Keeping to a strict Very Low Carb - High Fat diet,
I've been able to completely get off daily Victoza injections,
and reduced my Levemir injections from 100 units a day
to 30 units and still dropping. I still take Metformin twice a day.

Thank you for the information Ken. I am still waiting for referral to endo and will hopefully get what I need. I can't do HI fat because I have chronic pancreatitis. But i do try and stay low carb...most of the time
