Ok ladies, this almost 60 yr old lady is crazy...I just agreed to do a Road Race (five different 5K races) series with my daughter and granddaughter which will be run from May 27 to August 6, here in Arizona. So I guess I better start training and really glad I've been building my strength with all the challenges with you ladies. 30 Day Shred and running in the heat in AZ....YIKES!!!3

I'd run in the morning...1 -
@TheCupcakeCounter , Barb around here running is usually done these days as the sun comes up. I think that's the part I dislike the most. Not a morning person, especially since retirement, so getting up early to run because of the heat, not my favorite. It's 7am here and I've already done my 5 miles for today.0

Did my "hump day" legs, butt, and abs workout this morning. Tomorrow is light walking and Pilates only for recovery.2

L2D1 shredded....not sure what I think of level 2.0

I think it went by faster than level 1. Planks are cool because I can do them (because of our previous challenge), 5 lb weights are very difficult to raise for me in most of the exercises so I'm only raising them halfway as of now. The cardio to me is better and the weight lifting seems more beneficial.
Just my two cents.1 -
I start L2 tomorrow. Not sure I'm excited about the planks - I have issues with extended time in plank position because of the injury to my back last year.1

You can always modify on your knees. Where did you get your body weight vest from?0 -

I don't have a body weight vest0 -
Ok, I thought I read that you added 18 lbs somewhere in your workout. Maybe I was mistaken

Oh! I have a 18lb body bar. It's basically a barbell but padded and you can't add weights. I put it across my shoulder for weighted back squats1

I got it on Amazon0

Gotcha. Thanks. I'm going to check that out.0 -
Got my butt kicked by L2 today. Planks weren't bad - I have issues with static planks but planks position with movement I'm ok with.1

Lol! I got mine kicked too. I was dripping sweat. Those twists at the end are killing my shins but I realized I'm not doing them right. Other than that it's impossible for me to bring the 5lb weights up to "eye level" on the chair squats and lifts part. Oh yea and I hate high knees but luckily I can do them because of our previous challenge.1 -
@SmithsonianEmpress and @TheCupcakeCounter , I am with you ladies! Today's shred kicked my butt too. I am not a fan of planks (probably because I need them the most) so I think these 10 days are going to be tough for me, but we keep going, right!!! They can only get easier as we get stronger. L2D2 SHREDDED!!!!1

I only can do them because that challenge we had made me stronger. That's the ONLY reason. I now know how to push through the pain...because there is pain in doing them. Lol! I don't know why this workout seems so much quicker than level 1 but I'll take it. It's like it's over as soon as I start it

Today kicked my butt! Maybe because I rested yesterday, I don't know. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. With your activity level throughout the week I'm sure you are killing it! You're my inspiration0 -
definitely not killing it! I don't have an issue with the cardio and abs but some of the strength compound movements I have a hard time with because of my back. Honestly I'm not sure how much more of it I am going to do because the workouts I write myself are harder and I can use heavier weights to hit some more of my goals.0
