My son has registered us for the Tour des Chutes in Bend Oregon in July. That is an event I have had problems with, especially after two accidents. But I have been hammering miles and working on cadence and stuff. Whether my neck holds up is another issue. But gonna give it a shot. So my training is going to change.
Goal: 250.0 miles
06/01 - 16.0 miles cycling (while the weather window was there)
06/01 - 01.0 miles walking with the grand kids
06/01 - 04.0 miles hamster wheel (weather window slammed shut yet again)
06/02 - 01.0 miles walking with the grand kids
06/02 - 20.0 miles hamster wheel (split work today, lots of stuff to do)
06/03 - 01.0 miles walking (at the river with the grand kids)
06/03 - 20.0 miles hamster wheel (split work today, lots of cadence work)
Total: 63.0 miles

June 4: Rain day here. Managed to get 11.1 miles in of walking, RW Streak day 7, and a few miles on the bike. Feeling lazy. Not like me. Guess we have those days. Last week of school.
TTD: 54.1 miles
@anaconda469: You are a gutsy gal to tackle such a big challenge. I will keep good thoughts and prayers that your neck and any lingering issues from your prior accidents do not surface.

@anaconda - good luck with the training!
@kar328 - that sounds downright inhumane.
@2essie - didn't see your total? I have you at 21.11?
@k80flec - the parade sounds fun. Good luck getting your run in tomorrow. Mondays can be tough.
As for me, I did a 2 mile beach walk with the dogs in the morning before it started raining. Then I managed to get in a 1 mile run between showers in the afternoon to keep my RW streak alive. That puts me at 13/75.
Hope you all had a great weekend.3 -
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. This is a cancer research charity ride, just going to train as much as I can and let the bike do the rest.

June 3rd= 3 miles (2 jogging/1 walking) HOT
June 4th= 12.5 (1 mile running on TM, .5 walking on TM & 11 from ex bike) 94* with high winds today so I was only outside to move the sprinkler around. We are soooo dry here in the northeast corner of MT & NEED rain in a BIG way! Some of the crops aren't even coming out of the ground & ranchers are selling off some of their herds due to not having enough grass growing to feed them. If you're a believer that God is in control I ask you to pray with me that he blesses us with RAIN!!! Thank you!!!!

@vhuber prayers for you and MT. I'm sorry for the struggles that everyone is going through.0

We babysat the 2 month old grandson while mom & dad moved house. He did not want to be put down *at all*. Needless to say, I didn't get much moving done beyond small battles with the laundry monster and spider horde (I didn't win), but I feel like I've a good start to the month.
June 1-4, 4.3 miles, all walking.

5th: 1.65 miles elliptical - MTD 29.65
@anaconda469 - as @clepant has said - you're one gutsy woman taking on that challenge. May your training go well.
@Leanz - hope your cold symptoms are clearing up and not wearing you down by lingering coughs.
@kar328 - that sounds dreadful - but it didn't stop you ... a brave woman or a glutton for punishment???
@JTH11706 - I'm hoping the elliptical counts (my argument would be it's not that different from a TM). Between the rain and grandparenting ..... running outside wasn't going to happen.
@vhuber - my thoughts and best wishes are with you and MT.
@djmicheals - hugs to you and the pleasures of a 2 mth old grandchild.
@Just_Ceci - happy to oblige
