Baby Randy made his entrance 9/20. He weighed 9lbs 12oz and was 20.75 inches long. Managed to get him out without any assistance so that was exciting! Since this is our first it has been a big learning experience, but hubs is amazing with him and we are all figuring it out it seems.
My depressing story is when I weighed myself 4 days postpartum I was only 5 lbs down from when I went into the hospital. That was a pretty big letdown. I think its a fluid/crazy hormone thing, not really sure how else you lose less weight than your baby....
Anyways, I guess I will be heading over to the postpartem packers group from here. Wish all you ladies the best on your own pregnancy journeys! It has been really nice chatting with you all over the past few months.6 -
Congratulations @4legsRbetterthan2 he is beautiful! And well done on pushing out a nearly 10 lb baby without any help! That's amazing! Don't worry about the weight, you'll be retaining a lot of fluid and your uterus needs time to shrink so it'll be off in the next few weeks. Enjoy this time with your new cutie pie x0

@phreekles you are so right. I thought for sure my feet couldn't swell anymore than they did during pregnany, but boy was I in for a surprise. I got brave enough to get on the scale again this morning and was another 3 lbs down, so I am working my way there even if it is a little slower than I would like. Can't wait for the day when my feet dont feel like they are going to pop when I walk around!1

It's surprising how long it takes! During my first pregnancy I went engagement ring shopping shortly after the birth and had to get the ring I wanted resized (bigger as my fingers were so swollen) when I got the ring back a few weeks later it was sliding off my finger! In hindsight I should have waited a while before getting it resized but the nice thing is that I've been able to wear my ring the whole of this pregnancy so far1 -
@4legsRbetterthan2 Congrats!!! Holy cow you had a big boy! I'm glad to hear you are both doing well, and good luck in your postpartum journey!0

@4legsRbetterthan2 congratulations on your adorable boy!
Don't worry about the weight loss. Mine stayed for a little bit to as my body freaked out but then started dropping off pretty easily. Just keep drinking lots of water and eating well for now0 -

Ugh, so much weight gain recently. I'm trying to reel it in, but having issues! Need to be better about just healthy eating when hungry. And actually working out - something I haven't done since my foot injury. Ugh.0 -

Guess last week was an artificially high reading. Whew!0 -
I am so glad that I found this. I am 7 weeks, had gained ~8 lbs as of last Friday, and have been pretty stressed about it.
Morning sickness has been miserable for the past two weeks so I've pretty much given myself a pass to eat anything I want as long as I can keep it down...
It's really a relief to see such a variety of weight gains from other people and to know that several of you gained this much or more during your pregnancies, had healthy babies, and were able to lose the weight after.0 -
Age: 29
2nd Pregnancy
Start weight: 203.6
Gain goal: 20-25 lb
Week 4- Aug 28/17: 206.2 (+2.6/+2.6)
Week 5- Sept 4/17- 205.8 (-0.4/+2.2)
Week 6- Sept 11/17- 204.8 (-1.0/+1.2)
Week 7- Sept 18/17- 207.4 (+2.6/+3.8)
Week 8- Sept 25/17 - 206.8 (-0.6/+3.2)
Week 9- Oct 2/17 -208 (+1.2/+4.4)
This whole month Ive eaten much worse than I typically do due to nausea! I had so many aversions that only junk food and carbs appealed. Luckily this week Ive been much better and able to eat vegetables and some of my more normal meals again, so Im hoping that'll slow the gaining. Last pregnancy with my son I gained 30 lbs, and also started off that pregnancy a lot heavier than I am this time. So my goal this time is to gain 20-25 lbs and to keep active as close to the end as possible.0 -
