Adult Swim Club 2200m Felt harder than that due to the Fly & IM.
Warm-up 50m free, back, breast, kick

    Free x 3
50m Finger Drag = high recovery elbow
50m Fist = Good Forearm position for maximum pull
50m Long Dog Paddle = Maximize reach on each stroke/body roll
200m Distance per Stroke. Put them all together
Did all free strokes with Forearm Fulcrum to improve my left hand entry. I tend to drop my left wrist which creates entry resistance and a massive bubble wake. The large adult model was uncomfortably tight and at first I wasn't able to get a proper elbow bend, had to re-position/adjust the aid twice.

    Fly w fins x 2
    8 x 25m 30 sec RI/coaching
100m IM / Dolphin kick all strokes
    50m Fly

    3 x 75m Back / Breast
    100m free
    100m Easy cool down

    500m front crawl
    250m with hand fins
250m mix breaststroke and front crawl

last set was trying to glide more and take fewer strokes. Managed 12 for front crawl and 11 for breaststroke (25m pool)

    2100m today.

It was one of those swims that was the most boring thing ever. Each lap was excruciatingly tedious. I kept wondering why I don't find something fun to do for exercise like kickboxing or Zumba.

I wanted to do 2500 but after I turned at 2100 I made it to the flags and I bailed. I never do that--I always set a distance goal for the swim and stick to it, but the tedium was too much today.

(For the record, I usually love swimming and it suits my introversion, unlike kickboxing or Zumba.)

Got my 45 in, then did a few more just because. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't one of my fabulous swims that I'd been spoiled by lately. I had a holiday party to go to tonight, so I was happy to get some exercise in, whatever that was. Pool was nice and quiet because lessons are on a break :)

Went for a splash on saturday. They were having the annual Life Guard Re-certification part1 so we lost 1/3 of the pool which made for tight quarters. Not really possible to do any drills ( 6/8 per lane so pretty much touching the toes of the person in front of you ) so just lapped on free. 1000m and left to make room for others coming in.

@YosemiteSlamAK You know your having a good day when you outlast multiple swimmers

Only 3.5 miles today. Had to cut it short.
Did a little "coaching" for another Grey haired swimmer that is trying to improve his technique and endurance.
One thing I learned in martial arts training is that one need not be an expert to be able to share ones knowledge and experience.
Every yellow belt is a teacher to the white belt.

No swim. I was waiting for my 14 yo to wake up. By the time she had, I was snoozing on the sofa. Seems like I needed the rest. I spent the day telling myself that I could still go, but not going. I need to be OK missing a planned swim day. Tomorrow morning, back at it. I think it bugs me because we're leaving for the beach for 6 days on Saturday, so all I can do there is walk, run or hike, and it will undoubtedly be windy and wet.

Yes. And it was a good one. 45 laps of the usual mix. The bummer was that I had forgotten to shut off my ipod last time (Monday?) so it was dead, but for a little bit at the start, there was a saxophonist who played Christmas carols which was awesome. The acoustics were incredible!

Last month I signed up for a challenge at my gym that involves a certain number of workouts before the end of this month. With my 10 day break earlier in Dec I need to work out almost daily to reach the challenge goal.
So I have swum daily since last Sat.
    Sun 2100, Mon 1400, Tues 1450, Wed 2000, Th 2000, today 2000
Fortunately I am off work for the holidays so I can swim daily.

I have the dreaded Christmas Cold. Sounds like whooping cough when I go off, it's like everyone in town has it. So no swimming. you know how a snail leaves a Trail behind him, I have this personal hygiene thing where you shouldn't be leaving a trail behind you in the water, so no swimming until I get better. Go enjoy the next few days with your family and friends.

20 laps, and I headed to the hot tub. I trail run twice a week, and today I ran with my sister because I'll be out of town on our regular run day. Boo hoo. Tired legs. I put my fins on and stuck it out, but realized I'm a grown up with free will, then called it. Blargh...

Swim #2 in the long climb back to fitness after pretty much two months of losing my way in pool and in life, to the point of nearly giving up both. Hopefully 2018 will be better!

    2000m

    500 free

    200 back

    3x 100 free on 2.00 (1.24/1.23/1.22)

    200 back

    3x 100IM on 2.00 (1.35/1.36/1.35)

    200 back

    300 warmdown

The IMs nearly killed me. Eight months ago I could swim a 400IM at that pace - onwards and upwards hopefully!

Keep on keeping on. Sometimes life will put walks in front of you. That's when we have find that inner HULK SMASH.

swimming is an essential part of my physical and mental health. I'd probably have to the some sort of prescription anxiety drug if i didn't swim.
