Did you swim today?

Got my 45+1 in last night. I'm used to swimming in the evening after work. I actually prefer it as I am not a morning person, but this swimming from 7:30-8:30pm is tough. By that time of the evening, it is just too easy to be "too tired" from the rest of the day. But it's only until mid-Feb. I can do this...1

No swim, but got a run in, even though it ended in the dark. I have a summer goal to climb Mt. St. Helens in August to celebrate turning 50. I did it with my husband and kids in 2015 and it was awesome. I was in great shape, but it still kicked my from behind. Putting a lofty goal out there is keeping me in my lane for swimming, but I also need more running than once a week, so I've worked in Wednesdays as my 2nd run day. For some unknown reason, my legs and lungs felt strong today. Must be the swimming, lol...2

Had a chat with one of the high school swum team coaches when i was done. Actually got a few good tips on how to focus on stroke count reduction.2 -
Got to the pool for the 3rd time this week, which is more than I usually get there in a month. Really hoping to keep this up - masters swim tuesday/thursday, and then a saturday workout where I build distance (next year's goal is a 2.4 mile open water swim in August, and a half ironman in 2019). 2000y freestyle today. Will try to add a few laps each week.2

Finished up a good week. 30 laps last night. 47 this afternoon. Both felt strong. I have no idea why my swims are feeling so strong lately, but I'm not going to over analyze. I'll take it. It was so nice to have my own lane, and eventually, my own pool. There was an older gentleman two lanes away swimming using only one arm. I have seen people do this before, and it's humbling. I'm not sure I could swim if I could only use one arm. He just kept going and going.2

I don't like kicking drills, so I am doing a kicking workout every Saturday morning before work. Goal is to decrease split times, and total time to complete 2000 consisting of primarily kicking. Today was about 51 minutes

Am far from the league that all you swimmers are in but trying. After being at pool several times I think I've figured out that its my kicks (legs) that need the work ..... will do kickboard laps to try and build up leg strength to generate more forward motion and keep my butt from sinking

Third masters swim, apparently this is a distance work out. My train gets me to the gym a bit early, so I'm going to make of habit of hopping in and do as many laps of easy warm up as I can before everyone gets there at 6:30
400m warm up
200m IM kick (flippers fun, but I learned that apparently my garmin doesn't record things if I'm not moving my arms so boo)

Was supposed to do Fly with fins since we are just learning it.
I have a BoBo Blister on my right foot 1.5 in in diameter so I can't wear fins ( tight shoes etc ) so I did some mixed drills and an IM set replacing the fly with Back & Breast.

Wow, some great swims going on here!
I snuck a trip to the pool in yesterday while my family was elsewhere. I realized that it was too dark for my Wednesday run, but threw my swim stuff in my car just in case. I love it when "just in case" works! Put in my 45 laps, with the last 15 really pushing it. Then another few to cool down. My swims feel strong, but when I breathe on my right side, my right hip is still dropping. And my kick stops when that happens. I can't figure out why my left and right sides are SO different.2 -
Back in the water after about 10 days of snow, work craziness, and a child with a virus.
2500 m, and I got up at 4:45 am because I was so eager to get back to it.
Interestingly, this past week I have had a fairly constant strange sensation on my neck, like there is something touching me. It has not been painful, just a feeling like my collar was touching me. Today--completely gone.
