I think Ill be doing about 1000-1200. It's SUPER low but only 5'2 and no time to exercise since I work full time, in grad school, and have two school aged kids.

I'm also short (5'0") and also try to stay between 1000 and 1200 per day.

I'm aiming for between 1200-1500 a day. 1200 is hard to hit most days, so I'm happy if I at least eat under maintenance. For reference, I'm 5'3, currently at 143 down from 154. I'm also always up for more friends. :)

I'm like bizgirl26. I do want to lose 10 more pounds but the most times I can stay under 1450 is about 2 times/week. It's easier in the summer when it's 100 deg+ here & I'm really not very hungry. We usually have more home made smoothies than food

I am 5ft 3' and 65kg. I aim to eat 1300 calories per day (plus exercise gains) but quite often bust it (only by a little, but I do nearly all the time). I am working out two or three times a week but walking and cycling every day on my commute. Slowly but surely losing a little, but it is hard being good!

Around 1500-1800 a day, depending on if it is a weight lifting day or not. When I was solely weight lifting, it was closer to 1800-2000+ a day.

I net around 1500-1600 calories a day, I do eat most of my exercise calories back so it's usually more like 1,800 on average.

1200-1300, but usually every 3 days I will eat higher for a day, then again 3 low and so on + around 600kcal from exercise 5-6x/week.

1800 calories - healthy eating - exercise - Just want to lose 10 lbs and it isn't happening (yet)

I think someone mentioned this earlier, but when you don't have a lot of weight to lose, you might trade lean muscle for fat before you start losing weight. No need to follow your son's lead right now.

I eat anywhere from 1600-2000. My Fitbit and MFP app tells me I can eat 2500-2600? I jog/walk about 10-11 miles a day. I'm 5'4", weigh 113lbs. Doesnt it seem like it's off?

Yep I think that is right :) . I would try to eat what fitbit is telling me and see if I am gaining or if it is my maintenance. In my case fitbit is accurate. Everyone is different so just try it!

I have just started with my fitness pal. My question is- it has me at 1350 calories a day. That figures in my walking and aerobics. I mainly want to tone and firm with my workouts. But losing about 5-7 would be great too. Should I reduce my calories to lose those pounds?

The app usually adds your exercise calories once you log the exercise (e.g., if you burn 300 calories walking for an hour, your daily calorie total is 1350 + 300 = 1650). So are you getting 1350 after you log those exercises? Also, how long do you have to lose those 5-7 lbs?

1500 to 1800. I exercise a lot and don't sit down a lot . I actually loose any time I go under 2000. I could never go under 1200 long term. I would starve.

I've been eating 1200 for the past two months but very close to my goal weight. When I'm only two pounds away, I'm going to change the setting from lose 1 pound a week, to lose 0.5 per week, in hopes to begin preparing for maintenance. That will be around 1350 calories per day.

    Stats 5'4"
    CW 121.8 lbs
    GW 115-118 lbs

Apparently my maintenance is around 1500 which is awesome. I'm doing fine with the 1200 cals/day but I'm making sure to eat lots of whole foods so that I stay full (meat, vegetables, etc).

Feel free to add me! I will need help transitioning into maintenance lol

I'm 5'7, 200lbs and eating under 1400 per day (or trying to). Sometimes I go over a bit, but other days I'm in the green, so it evens out for me. I'm trying to lose 50lbs before July 2019 (wedding month). I have a sedentary desk job and I'm working out 2-3 times per week. Any advise to reach my goal would be helpful.
    I'm vegetarian (occasionally eat fish).

At the beginning of my weightloss program, I was eating 1200 calories a day (give or take). Now, I am 15 lbs from my goal weight and I work out a lot! I have a sedentary job, but I play soccer 4 times a week and hit the gym at least 5 days a week. I have hit a major plateau and know I need to up my calorie intake. My problem, is that I don't feel hungry. I'm having a hard time adjusting the foods I eat to meet a higher calorie goal. I'm totally up for suggestions if any ladies out there have some!

Side note, I'm in a biggest loser competition (and currently in 1st place with 5 weeks left to go), so it is important to me to see a drop in the scale each week if possible.

1420 is my goal, but I tend to eat around 1200. I try my best to accurately log foods, and stay ontop of my macros. I am currently trying to lose weight.

I eat about 1850-2K depending on how active I am. My goal is to keep TDEE at around 2500 but some days I don't get there so I give up some rice pudding that day haha

I'm 5'2" and the app is set at 1200. I just recently lowered it because I thought I could be challenged a little more and lose a little faster. I didn't feel like I was making any progress on the higher amount, and since I've switched I have been pretty good with keeping things balanced.

im 5'9 and 28. I eat around 1300 a day (one day a week aroun 1800) as i have a strict deadline for my weight loss goal (currently 150 pounds 7 to go) and workout 4-5 times per week. Im losing pretty quickly so think i may soon need to reassess!

Depends on my workout routine that day, but generally 1300-1600. I usually work out 6x a week and am trying to build lean muscle more than lose fat. I am 5, 0" so even though it doesn't seem like a lot, it is pretty good. Only time I have to be careful are the rare days I burn 1000+ cals.

    I'm 5'9", CW 144 GW 135ish.
I just started back on this, and am currently shooting for around ~1500 a day, which is what MFP sets for ~1lbs/week. It seems to be working, and isn't too hard to stay within. Once I hit the 130s, I'll probably bump that up to ~1750 or .5lbs/week.

@gutsnglory6 Don’t forget that as your weight goes down, your caloric needs go down as well. So once you got the 130s, it probably won’t be exactly 1750 - you’ll have to recalculate what .5 would look like for your lower weight.

I'm sedentary and move very little, so as per IIFYM I'm aiming for 1272 cal. I recalculate every time my trending weight goes down 2 pounds or so though. According to Fitbit I burn 1934 on average and I'm losing about a pound per week.

Yes! I really like the MFP reminds me when it’s time to recalibrate. The overall difference between now and goal is about 60 cals less, but the overall goal of increasing my calories is to sort of work myself back up to maintenance (while still losing, just at a slower rate).

I normally eat between 1700-2200 cals a day, depending on how active I am. Still, that keeps me at a low deficit at 5'10".

I aim for 1200, and its still hard for me to do that when I do low carb and high protein. If i just eat junk, then its easy to hit over 2000.
