This may be it for me on My Fitness Pal. My retirement system was compromised four weeks ago when an employee exposed 300,000 accounts to public viewing and one was mine. I had to get credit protection provided by them for one year. Now someone has ha led this system. I am getting all kinds of whacky email and may need to change my email address too. I just don’t know if my personal data is worth all this. I have pretty much ended my Facebook account.

I was hoping to get a nice long walk outside today after my marathon day at work, but someone must have done one heck of a rain dance so...... :( I tried to brave it with an umbrella but I was soaked and shivering after the first mile so I headed back indoors. I still walked 4 miles, the scenery just wasn't as nice.

Added 5.25 miles since Tuesday, March total 60 miles.

@vhuber @k80flec I love a variety of classes. Boot Camp is my favorite. The goat yoga wasn't related to the gym, the yoga teacher mentioned a farm in the area where you can do it. Not something you want to do if you're there to concentrate on your poses, but I did get in a few of them, some with a goat on my back. Thanks for the support on the running too :-)

Today is my birthday so I took the day off and had some fun. When I took this new daytime job, I had to give up my favorite TRX class - I really like the instructor, and it's on Wednesdays, so I got to go (I forgot how hardcore she goes, will be sore tomorrow). Before that, I was just starting to run on the treadmill, minding my own business, looked up to see both my trainer and dietitian are dancing and singing "Happy birthday" to me. Had to hit stop so I didn't fall off laughing. After the gym, I went to a foot spa place where they make you really happy with foot, arms, shoulder and head massage while you lay in a recliner. Followed that with a walk outside since the ugly weather decided to go away and it's in the 70s here.

    Oh yeah, 4.5 miles total.

    40/35
Happy Birthday!! (mine is Saturday) It looks like you made your day special & I KNOW I won't be having that kind of special on my day. It was such a nice day that the weather even want to join in!!!

I just realized I've been awol since Sunday. I'm safely back in Florida, where I've had some good runs and rides putting me at 96/75.

I updated my password to this site. I get a fair amount of spam email already. I have a pretty good spam filter and I try hard never to open anything suspicious. I hope it's enough. Suggestions from you tech guys welcome.

Regarding the security breach....it sounded like from their statement that all they got were names and emails. The passwords were "hashed" or in other words, encrypted, so they won't do them any good. What you should do. Immediately change your password anyway. As a rule, you should never share the same password between more than one site, but I know what a pain that is. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY....never, EVER use the same password that you use for online banking, credit card(s), retirement accounts, or anything else financially-related for more than one website! You're just asking for trouble if you use the same password for more than one website.

So then you probably are asking....how on earth do I remember all these different passwords?!? By using a secure password storage app like LastPass (www.lastpast.com), 1Password (www.1password.com), RoboForm (www.roboform.com), or Dashlane (www.dashlane.com). I use LastPass and for $12/year, I have access to it on my iPhone, iPad, MacBook and work Windows PC. I enter or change a password on one device and it updates it on all devices. It can sense when you change a password and automatically update your records. It can generate new passwords. You can create crazy, complex passwords and only have to remember your one master password to get into your vault and then work from there. It can even pre-fill login pages for you if you want. It is extremely secure and I highly recommend it.

Here is a link to a review between LastPass and 1Password that will give you a better idea of how they work and what features they have.

1.1 treadmill miles. Might have been more, I woke up early enough, but dawdled at home. Tried the StepMill for a few minutes, then a couple of weighted squats - haven't done those in a while.

Thanks, Dave. This is very helpful. My son also told me to be sure my email password is secure because it is used to change your password on other sites.

On my Chrome browser on my laptop in the address bar a big fat 'Not Secure' has shown up.. I don't know what to think anymore. When a site or phone app asks me too log in with my Facebook I never do. I don't sync any of my Strava or Wahoo fitness data with any Under Armour/MFP product. I am going to move MFP to a dump email box of its own if it the site will let me.

I am still here. Yes I am basically disgusted. I don’t hang out on social networks as a whole and I change my password frequently.i don’t have a password for my email account that I use anywhere else. They are all different in many ways that if I develeop Alzheimer’s, I am screwed. Yes those password groups sound great Dave until someone hacks them and they will have not one password but all your passwords. My retirement site was not even hacked. It was some employee who claims he accidentally hit something that allowed 300,000 teachers accounts visible to anyone to see. Yeah, sure it was an accident. He probably has an overseas bank account in Russia.

March 30: Adding 15miles for today. walking and cycling.

A couple of years ago at my previous job in the hospital, they fired one of the IT guys, yet, forgot to take his work laptop back and didn't realize it for way too long. He had access to all the personal information. Luckily, nothing came of it, but we had to keep an eye on our accounts. You can put freezes on your accounts with the three credit bureaus. You only have to notify one. Over the years I've had to do that several times with breaches.

Used this gorgeous weather wisely - adding 5 miles, some running, some walking. Ran down the main road in my subdivision, and part way back - it's uphill both ways  Felt good to be out - it's been too long since I got that kind of mileage.
