Hi,
I’m just starting keto today. I’ve been limiting my calorie intake for the past month and nothing happened, not one pound lost. I’m guessing it’s due to peri-menopausal hormone stuff and it seems women my age generally only lose weight if they go low carb so I’m giving it a try.

Hello everyone and welcome to the newbies or comebacks,
Felt off the wagon during labor day weekend and gained back what i lost during August. So starting September, I am back to my pre August weight. Goals for September: Prep, prep, and prep. Buy some keto friendly snacks. Have backup meals for when enable to cook. Try to cook extra dinner to have leftover for lunch. I am still maintaining dairy free. I am slowly introducing back almond flour and coconut flour as well. And I am allowing myself some extra carbs from some fruits other than berries like grapes, plums but just a little and not everyday. I am taking some medicine for my hypothyroidism and hopefully that will help as well. I have just celebrated my 90 days on keto. On to the next serious 90 days.

Started Keto on September 3rd. I'm down 25 lbs from my starting weight but havent budged in awhile. Keto feel great so far other than I'm really tired. Bought Ketone strips today and I measured higher than 1.5 mmol/L so I guess I'm 'in the zone'? I leave for vacation tomorrow so hopefully I can keep it going while away.

Hi, I started the Keto lifestyle Thursday August 23rd. I am definitely the heaviest (and unheathiest) that I have ever been in my life. I have struggled with my weight and lack of physical activity for my entire adult life. (Do to permanent spinal injury, great love for food, moderate to severe laziness and successful avoidance of reality.)
I have reached the conclusion that I cannot keep doing the same unsuccessful things and expect any change. My doctor strongly recommended Keto so here I am.
I know I’m already late to the challenge but I want to throw myself in anyway. Accountability and all that.
SW: 320 lbs (August 23rd 2018)
CW: 310 lbs
GW: 300 lbs (I think this is the goal for the last day of September?)

I actually weighed in on Wednesday, August 29th because that was my last chance at a scale, but I made my August goal of 150! I then went on vacation and ate and drank all the things I shouldn't. LOL - when I got back, I weighed to see what the damage was. Up 4.4 pounds. Oh yeah!!! I knew it was coming. But I'm not worried! Life is a roller coaster. There will be ups and downs. And there SHOULD be ups and downs. Enjoying life every day is the ultimate goal and vacation choices were worth it.

At last; I've done a few days without falling right off the wagon! So down 0.8 from last Sunday but down 3 since Wednesday when I'd last posted! All I need to do now is stick to it and get back into the 140s!
Still living with the uncertainty of where we are living next (rental or hotel) and for how long, before our house is ready but as we've only 10 days left here I'm assuming someone from the insurance company will come to a decision soon! Otherwise they will have the great pleasure of one very irate woman!1 -

This was a plateau week for me, made more frustrating because my body kept teasing me with a you're-almost-10-pounds-down dance, hovering at 9-9.5 pounds off. Finally hit the 10 pound mark this morning, which puts me at 25% of the way to goal.
I've recalculated my macros and reduced my calories to 1300 (114p, 79f, 30c), in hopes it will help move things along a bit more. I didn't always hit 1450 calories when that was my allotment, so shouldn't be too hard on me, fingers crossed. I'm going to work harder at consistently hitting my protein macros, which I've been falling a bit short on. I can usually hit my fat goal without surpassing, so that's been good. Carbs I can usually keep to 15-25 net, so I'm doing well there and am consistently in ketosis.
The next almost two weeks will be spent visiting my MIL, and I am hoping to be able to keep up my progress and lose 2-3 more. I'm hoping this will not be too hard, but a lot will depend on what she serves (she can be... complicated). Fingers crossed!2 -

I'm still here! Was on vacation last week visiting grandchildren so I forgot to post in the group. But I stayed on track and disnt gain! My stepson and his wife are also doing keto so my husband felt like the odd man out for a change!

For September I've decided to change my carbs to 20g NET CARBS per day instead of total carbs which is what I have been doing. I want to begin to slow my weight loss just a little in hopes that I won't have so much lose skin when I lose these next 25-30 lbs. Perhaps when my weight gets down into the 160's I'll raise my carbs just a little more!
My knee is better... sometimes it hurts & sometimes it doesn't. Wierd. I have been icing it whenever I do walk...and other than a 7-mile walk while in Arkansas last week, I really havent walked much this month.4 -
I've had such a busy few days, with lots of late nights. I really tried to mind what I ate since I didn't really have much time to prepare myself meals. I did eat dinner out on Labor Day and had what I cooked for the rest of the family on several occasions, but I tried to be mindful of what I ate before and the following day. Balancing I suppose.
One of the other things I've started is a Fitness Planner. It's still very new to me, but it's pretty and has stickers, and I love planning! This week was successful for me, and it's the best week I've had in many months. I hope to see 160's sometime soon!!

Well it was a beach house vacation so most of the food I was able to bring with us, so I was at least 95% prepared. There are always unexpected things that we tend to indulge on when on vacation, but that's ok! Vacations are for splurging a little...wouldn't you say?

My trend for the past few months has been to start the month with a good week followed by three or four bad weeks. So, I’m going to focus this month to start a new trend. I’m going to make it two good weeks in row and build on that. Hope to see you all back here next week when I post another loss and start a new steady downward weight-loss trend headed toward my healthy weight goal.

Hello everyone,
1week in September. Nothing new so far. A bit more tired but there is the change of seasons that always make me kind of sicked. But i am so excited because fall (with hopefully early snow in Nov) is my favorite season. Still hoping to reach my goals by end of year. Will try to do more gentle yoga this week as well.

I KNEW my gain last week wouldn't last! That's one of the many great things about keto. Once you get back on track after a splurge or situations you can't control, just climb back on and ride and your body will adjust itself. This loss is even after a day at the ballgame tailgating and driving for six hours! All I had at the tailgate parties is that good Nebraska beef. Mmmmm!! Pure protein and NO carbs. (Ok, I snuck some potato chips because ... well... I can't resist them when they are in front of me. I NEVER buy them for that reason!)
