@eyesopennow my husband's favorite thing to do is smoke food on the grill. We have 3 grills. 1 gas grill, 1 smoker and 1 is half gas half smoker. He has the ridiculous setup outside and when it's the nice weather there are tables added to this scene.
@Navydaddjtc my steps should be all caught up.
I did my Zumba class and went for a nice long, cold walk today. It's cold here in New Hampshire. I went food shopping yesterday and did some meal prepping today. I plan on getting up early tomorrow, fingers crossed. If not I will work out when I get home.4 -

This season is so hard! So many birthdays and holiday parties! While i was on track today, it was super hard to atay that way. Weekdays are much easier tho thank goodness for monday! ( Dont hear that much im sure 😂😂)5 -
OKAY, hard as it is counting calories and sticking to them sometimes, harder creating recipes and trying to figure out how much a whole meal is, but then choosing how many servings it will be. BUT the harder part is trying to create a meal with my Aunts help and the extra stress she adds to me when I'm trying to do good and weigh my food and figure out all of the calories...She REALLY asked me if Vegetables even have calories...So WHY did I need to weigh them...🤦♀️ Took everything in me not to start an arguement with her tonight, we really usually go at each other, but she doesn't want to send me into a spiraling depressive episode or send me off to Rehab again, and I'm sick of it to, so we argue less, but sometimes I still just snap, but whatever! Okay, rant and story over.6

I had a nice weekend stayed on track with food and had a lot of fun.
My husband made delicious chocolate cookies with caramel inside and chopped pecans on top and I wasn’t even tempted or upset I can’t have any I just had the smallest taste to see if they were really that good as his whole family bragged about them lol I used to be so upset while dieting and people around me would eat junk and feeling how unfair it is lol not anymore I was absolutely not jealous or sad I can’t have any! I tasted one tiny bite and didn’t even care. I really think I’m growing mentally strong little steps but I feel like I’m learning that short term happiness (eating chocolate) can’t beat long term happiness (looking & feeling so much better staying off junk)
Check in for today: little over 14000 steps, 1350 calories, 40 mins treadmill light effort and short walk around park.

I understand you completely. I try to shop for the simplest things so i can make it easier when preparing my foods. Hang in there. You'll start to get it once more time passes. Congratulations by the way!3 -

Saturday was really busy for me. I went to Wal-Mart with my mom and did alot of walking in there. Then afterwords i went to the funnest baby shower i ever been to lol. Overall mentally it was a good day. My last few days been pretty positive. Hope everyone had a great weekend!6 -

My weekend flew by! It was so busy that logging and yoga got overlooked a bit. I didn't log Saturday, but didn't overeat so think it was close. Yesterday I was over about 200 calories. What I really missed was my yoga! Making time for it today! Back to my routine.
@sleepymom5 Your Christmas decorations look really nice! I just love the feeling of a home decorated for Christmas!

Good day yesterday and no reason not to have a good one today. I had to order my Beck Diet Solution book in a real book form. It was a pain on the kindle. I wonder if there is anyway to return a kindle book...hmmm....I also got the workbook. I kinda stalled in the hunger exercises so I am excited to get back to it. I have a busy day today too. Hoping to get caught up with everything so I can enjoy the holidays instead of rushing through them.

@shirin_K You are doing great! It get's busy this time of year so sometimes the days get away from us. It is funny how you do miss the exercising. I hope you get the yoga in today!

T.E.A.M. Pledge
Sticking with this pledge. Usually exercise isn't too hard for me to fit in. With everything going on, I am having trouble fitting it in.
Today, every act matters. Every small step I take to reach my goal is a step towards a healthier body. My goal for today is to:
I will exercise for at least 45 min and reach my 10k steps.
These are the small steps I have taken to make the day successful:
I will exercise before I get involved in anything else
I will make sure I get at least 500 an hour today.
I will do a walking tape if I notice I drop off in steps too far3 -

Had a good day yesterday. Got all mine prep cooking done. I made chicken tortilla soup, salsa verde chicken enchiladas, veggie bags, deli rolls, homemade good for you ice cream sandwiches, and enough chopped up vegetables for a stir fry at some point during the week.My refrigerator is stocked and ready for a great week.

@nstephenson01 you know I was just asking myself that almost exact same thing yesterday. Why is it so hard to take the weight off but so easy to put it back on. I don't understand except that it is the way it is and move on.
@ljdanny I love walks in the cold! It's a mind set. Perfect for meditation cause everything else is frozen!!
@Mandi5512 you are right weekdays are so much easier.
@lenka1 it certainly is a state of mind. Keep telling yourself that being at your goal will taste a whole lot better than that 10 minutes of eating that cookie. It is absolutely true.
@CassieGetsFit2013 first off congrats on winning the weight loss challenge last week! You are doing awesome girl. Look at you weighing your food. That is amazing be proud of yourself. I understand what you're saying though about people that are trying to help but really don't understand what you're doing. You just keep doing you girl you are very important you're the most important person in your life.4 -

@sleepymom5 yeah I have the hard copy as well. And I did order the workbook. The workbook I didn't find that useful but the hard copy to be able to look at it highlighted write in the margins really makes it drive home the point.

Okay team wait no more. I do not have a actual computer all week. I am doing this from my phone. So I am hoping that I talked to everybody. And if not it wasn't intentional. I look forward to our continued progress this week. My office is shut down because we are getting new flooring and new paint on the walls. So I've got no computers no phones no nothing and I'm sitting here in an empty office. My boss has decided that he was going to use this week as a vacation. So I will be here all week with the contractors. Wish me luck! I'll catch up with you later2

Hello and welcome to a new week! Great job team, we took 1st place! Sorry I was not a help with my gain, but I should have a loss this week.
We went to NY yesterday to try Wahlburger's, but the one in NY closed, so we went to a pub/restaurant. It was good. My calorie counting went out the window. I ate light in the morning so I could not worry too much when we went out. I got a quinoa-veggie burger with sweet potato fries, it was really good. We also split some apps, there was 6 of us. Everything was delicious! We were so full for the entire day, I just had a cup of tea when I got home. It was very cold outside so we did not walk around too much, but we had to go to the NHL store, my older son is obsessed with hockey and the NJ Devils. He is definitely a fanatic!!
I called the gym this morning, they are open for business! I'm definitely having elliptical withdrawal, lol, I can't wait to get back on it. Monday is not normally a gym day, but I am going tonight. Looking forward to getting my good elliptical sweat, calorie burn and step count.

I have a Christmas party on Saturday, so I really want to have a good week, so if I go over a little on Saturday, it won't be too bad.

Steps were limited yesterday and will be today -- 16 inches of fresh snow on the ground. (only 10.5 at the airport, but that is miles away.) Hopefully I will burn a few calories going out to dig the cars out. It sure is pretty out there! I hope everyone else in the path ( @CassieGetsFit2013 , @Mrsbell8well for sure, there may be others) got thru it all okay.
Office closed today, so i am working from home. My "home office" is the dining room table, right across from those !#$!#@$ boxes of chocolate covered cherries Wyfe bought for the holidays. On the plus side, this office has a bottomless pot of coffee!7 -

Happy Monday everyone. I survived the weekend without gaining weight. Now isn't that a shame that instead of enjoying my weekend I have to dread letting my eating get out of control!!! Maybe someday it will be automatic since I'm trying to pick up new goals each month. I'm still perfect with not eating any sweets and that is really hard! It seems like especially this time of year - everywhere I go people are bringing Christmas Cookies and I am spending more time in the mall where the smells of all the different food kiosks are driving me crazy. But I have not given in so I am very proud of myself. The portion control is definitely taking a lot of work and focus and I'm still not sure if I'm doing it perfect. Its not like with sweets where you either eat them or you don't. With portions its so easy to round up. The hunger drives me crazy too - but I'm using veggies to combat that. So then I wonder - well did I go over on my portion of veggies and is that a bad thing!?!? So its a constant struggle but hopefully I am learning something as I go along here. You'd think at the age of 63 that I would have learned something about eating by now! I feel like I've been on a diet my whole life. My mother was on Weight Watchers when it first came out in the early 60's. I remember some of the weird tasting concoctions she would make and let us try! Weight Watchers has evolved along with the times and I have a couple of friends who are doing great with the program and counting points instead of calories. Anyways, I'm not sure why I got off on that tangent but I am wishing everyone a great Monday!3
