Well good morning everyone. I can't believe it is December already. Time sure does fly by. My name is Cyndie and I am one of the Team captains along with @sleepymom5 . I have been with this group since September 2017. I started my weight loss journey January of 2017 when I had reached my highest weight of 196 pounds. I am only 5 foot tall so that was a lot of mass to stack on this short little frame. Currently, I weigh 147.5 pounds and need to loose about 10 more pounds. So with the help and support of my Teammates and friends here I have lost a total of 45 pounds. I use the simple calories in/calories out method (ci/co). I have towards the last couple of months payed a little closer attention to my macros only because my blood sugar is still borderline diabetic. My main form of exercise is walking and yoga. I have some sort of chronic pain condition. None of the experts can seem to agree on what it is so I just call it chronic pain. I have been ill since 2011 and they (the supposed experts who can't even agree on what it is) don't believe that my pain will go away.
My fiance proposed to me at last christmas and i said yes. We will be getting married in the late spring next year. I have 2 adult children. I live in Michigan. My oldest is a mentally handicapped 33 year old man who lives on his own but is still very dependent on me to live his life. My youngest is a 28 year old man who lives in Florida. I have two grandchildren, one is 12 and one is 4. I live in michigan and work full time as an office manager of a finance company. My parents are both 86 and my mother has been extremely sick the last few months. So i spend lots of time with doctors visits, hospitals and physical therapy. Besides getting to know one another, the reason i tell you all of this is because i want you to see first thing that life happens and i have been losing weight anyway. It is all a choice. If you want it bad enough you will do what it takes to make it happen in spite of your hectic chaotic life.
I am an open book. I come here and tell the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is the way this works.
So now on to Team business:
I ask that you please check in daily or more if you please. But minimally daily. Many of us here check in with the following format.
Check in for: Thursday
Logged food: yes, on track
Water: 64 oz
Steps or exercise: 10000 and 30 minutes of yoga
You can check in daily however you want really, just as long as your check in. So if you go to November's Thread (this link will take you there https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10703782/team-weight-no-more-november-2018-chat-room/p1) you can read thru some of the posts. You will kinda see how we do it. But again, do it how you want just check in.
So come on in and introduce yourselves. Tell us a little about yourselves and what your goals are. Lets get healthy together, "One day at a Time" Oh yea, and feel free to visit last months thread and read thru it if you'd like, it will give you a little feel of who we are. And please star this in your favorites so it is easy to get too.
Now, our new way to weigh in on weigh in day:
User ID: Cyndiesstuff
Week Number: Week 1
Previous weight: 147.5
Current weight: 147.5
Steps: 72000
Now you will see we have included steps for the week. It is a new thing we just started. If you don't track you don't have to, It is not a requirement. But if you do track, give us your weekly total and we will include it on our spreadsheet.

Hi Everyone! My name is Pam. I am one of the captains along with @cyndiesstuff I am from the suburbs of Philadelphia. During the summer I am mostly at the Jersey Shore. I have been married 28 years and have 5 children 26-18. I am a nurse but semi retired, I actually am starting a new job at the end of January. I am not sure how I feel about it because it is a "desk" job and I am used to moving and doing patient care. However, if I want to spend the summers at the shore, this is a perfect option for me.
Funny, I was never overweight, although I always thought I was fat growing up. I gained A TON of weight with my pregnancies and ended up at 221lbs. Unfortunately that ended up being my heaviest even when I wasn't pregnant . At the end June of 2012 I decided I either had to get serious and lose weight or accept that I am obese and live my life. I got a fitbit and joined MFP on July 1, 2018. Since then, I have gained and lost 30 or more pounds a few times.
I have never gotten back to that starting weight but have gotten close. Although I haven't been as successful with my weight loss as I would like, I have learned a lot. I eat so much healthier than I used to. I also am in pretty good shape, I love to hike, walk, kayak and bike. Actually anything outdoors I usually enjoy. I do have a home gym in PA which has a bike, treadmill, elliptical, weights and a few other things. I also see a trainer twice a week when I am in PA. I really have no excuse not to exercise. I had been derailed since March but finally got back on track in August. I gained about 15 lbs during that time. I am slowly getting it off but I feel like things are going to be different this time.
This team really helped get me out of my slump. This is more than just weighing in weekly. The checking in daily really helps keep me focused. I also learn a lot from everyone and also get support when I need it.
I look forward to another great month with everyone AND our new members!!

My name is Patsy, I am 66 years old, married with 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. I have been on MFP for several years, daily for almost four years. I reached my highest weight 180 about two years ago and have dropped to 163 this summer. Gained a few this fall and am ready to drop them and more by the end of the year.
I usually do water aerobics twice a week and try to walk as much as possible mostly around the house. I volunteer at a public school library one morning a week and in the office at church one or two mornings a week.
I do not like cold weather - makes me hungry and most of the time just want to wrap myself up in warm blankets and read! I am trying to change that.
My plan is to have a cup of water before breakfast, no more than two small snacks a day, and small portions at meal time. Step count anywhere from 5,000 to 7500 per day or more.7 -

Hello everyone!
I am Lenka (32y). I live in PA but originally from Europe.
I have been trying to lose on and off for years but never really committed fully until past October.
I have been counting calories, walking and lifting weights for exactly 6 weeks now and I’m down about 10 pounds and seeing my body getting back where it should have been is amazing!
I have a daughter 3.5y old. I gained 50 pounds with my first pregnancy and I’m almost at my pre pregnancy weight now. (Shame)
My current weight is 155 and I’m trying to get down to 132-135 with a lot of muscle. Hopefully lol
We have a nice home gym in basement bc my husband has been lifting for past 20 years (since he was 15) so it’s easy for me to get work outs done, and truly I finally feel like I’m enjoying it now for the first time ever in my life! I lift 3 times a week.
I also have been walking a lot- about 100 000 steps a week (12-15k a day) but it may slow down with colder weather.
I can’t wait to get to know you all better and support each other!
I’m excited

I'd like to get below 160 for now , eventually 145. Slow but sure is the way!2 -
Hello everyone
I'm Arfa. I'm 29 years old, mother of 2. I have always struggled with my weight since my teens. I'm currently 198 ish which is way more than my normal Bmi. I'm a house wife living in Kuwait and there is literally nothing to do Much. I do all house chores by myself but that's all.
I was once a part of this group till 2017 when I got pregnant with my second. I have lost about 22 lb while partcipating in this challenge so I'm Back once again. I have set mini goals for me like 180s. All I want is to incorporate more activity into my routine.
Best of luck to all4 -
Hello everyone & welcome new members! This is a great, supportive group! We post a lot of stuff, not just weight & fitness related.
My name is Kirsten, I am 46 years old, married for over 19 years, I have 2 sons, 18 & 14 and I work full-time for a financial company. I live in NJ, right outside NY. I have been on MFP since May 2012 and part of this group since it started in July 2016 I believe. I am also a Lifetime member of WW. I am currently within my WW goal weight, but I am still trying to lose more for my personal goal. I had been struggling since the beginning of 2018, I finally got back on track in October. I workout 5-7 days/week. I do the elliptical at the gym 3-4 times/week and do DVD's at home the other days, they include aerobics and weights. I also started following 16:8 IF (intermittent fasting), which has really been helpful for me.
I can't believe 2018 is almost over. I am really hoping to be at goal by the end of the year. If not, I should be very close. Good luck to everyone! We can do this!5 -
Hello everyone,
My name is Anne-Marie. I have spent most of my life overweight/ obese. I come from a big family. I am 41 and have a 5 year old daughter. Whilst pregnant I developed gestational diabetes. I was told that having GD increased my chances of type 2. As literally everyone in my family has it I thought the odds of my developing it were certain if I didn't do anything about it. So I did WW and got to my goal weight I have bounced around my goal weight for 4 years. I have found ww on its own was not enough to keep me interested so I started running graduated to joining a triathlon club. In September I started working full time for the first time in about 6 years before that I was doing a mix of part time and freelance. Working the hours and the commute is making it challenging for me to train. Also there is food everywhere in the office and it is quite frenetic. My friend has recommended the LDMN programme which is basically clean eating but tracking through mfp with strength and conditioning workouts. I don't like s&c much so any tips to make those gym sessions more interesting would be really gratefully received.
People have said that I am mad for starting this before Christmas but my argument is that there is never a good time to do something tricky and you just have to do the best with what you have. So I will be trying to navigate the festive season which is really daunting but I have managed to lose weight over Christmas before and enjoy it.
My goal weight is 126lbs. I hope to lose a 1lb a week slow and steady. I don't like to sacrifice too much. I find with calorie counting I am always hungry with WW I found managing my hunger a lot easier but I can't get to the meetings and I can't stick to it without support. So here I am looking meeting everyone and supporting each other.

Hello!
My name is Mandi, I have 4 beautiful boys ages 2 months to 7 years. I have struggled with my weight ever since i got pregnant with my first in 2011. Im 5 ft 7 in and currently 198, 30 lbs down from my starting weight! My goal is to be 150 or below. Im looking forward to this group and the support that comes with it!6 -
Good evening. My name is Cortney. I am a 42 year single mother to three teen girls. Crazy town around here most of the time! I have never been skinny and felt good with my curves while wearing clothing sizes around 10-12. Got married and now ex- husband had much less desirable diet than I was used too. Surely stress of new marriage that quickly failed was not helping. Hadn’t weighed myself in years so hard to know but clearly gained based on mirror and clothing sizes. Divorce final in June 2018. Woke up one day in beginning August and felt (hard to explain actually- like a switch flipped) the focused mission to eat healthy. Joined MFP after quick google search in helpful calorie counting apps. Logging every meal. Learning a ton from the group. Losing weight with relative ease and persistence of my initial focus. Looking forward to being in a smaller (than the full MFP) community with supportive members with similar goals.
Starting weight: 228.5 pounds
Current weight: 196.7 pounds
Goal weight: about 150 pounds
Next goal: moving from obese to overweight BMI (less than 183 pounds)
Looking forward to participating in the group and the challenge.

Hi all, I am Mike. 59, bald, fat, male, married, diabetic, poor self control. I live with my Bride of nearly 37 years and her mom who has dementia, and sometimes my daughter who has her own story. I am here to help me as I continue to struggle with weight issues. I ended November on a very good week so I am going to build on that momentum through the holidays! I''ll give all the support I am able and pray you'll do the same. Together we can achieve great things!7

Big December welcome to new and returning members. I will do my intro later this morning.
Last month I completed a 30 day yoga challenge. I have become stronger, more, flexible and increased my balance.
I have decided to do it again for December. Anyone interested in joining me can tune into Adrienne yoga 30 day challenge on you tube. It’s free. Each day is different and runs between 12-35 minutes. If you decide to join us you can log your success in your daily check in.
Good luck and happy December.6 -

Happy December!! I am a new member and looking forward to gaining some self control 😂
My name is Carla and I am 53 years young. I am currently 8 lbs from a healthy BMI, but I am also on some stupid drug that hasn’t been helping with weight loss. Since starting this pill my weight loss has been weird. We are almost empty nesters but 23yo is currently living in basement....luckily she just eats what I make and doesn’t bring much treats into the house that I am aware of. We have have a cat if you couldn’t guess from my profile pic. This is Lucy and she is part bengal part tabby. She’s about 1.5 yo and such a fun girl, when I walk in the house she typically runs behind me (and body slams my legs)
Let’s see....what’s else, I walk a lot...always trying to get in 10,000 + steps a day and yoga. I have an old back injury and yoga really helps...@Mrsbell8well I will join you: 30 day yoga challenge starting today!
Weight in days are Monday,
Eat low carb, higher health fat
I am looking forward to this challenge!4 -

Hi all I am excited to be here on this team for another month.
Starting weight 202.8 Size 3X July 11th 2018
Current weight 172.4 size 12 (and 1 pair of size 10 jeans)
December goal 168
I started this journey following strict macro CI/CO guidelines. After losing 15 pounds I have readjusted my program. I am back to being vegan...Beegan...I eat local raw honey. My emphasis is and has always been on health. I currently follow the Medical Medium guidelines and the Nutritarian G-BOMBS. I have cut out many items that I call my "no no" list. My focus is on my "yes yes" list. Primarily the G-Bombs Greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries and seeds daily. My no no list-caffeine, alcohol, soy, corn, vinegar, salt, oil, sugar, gluten. It may seem overly restrictive for most but it works for me...for now. I have lost over 30 pounds and am so impressed with the clarity of my skin and the stopping of all the meds I was taking for headaches. I often post pictures of my drool inducing meals.
I am married to my wife Molly for 2 years. The OF (old folks) my parents live with us. My 9 year old granddaughter also stays with us most days while my daughter is working as a nurse at the hospital 1 mile from our house. We have a black lab mix that is my walking partner, Lula Mae.
Last month I had the honor of being asked to be a team motivator for this group! My goal is to help support our team members on a journey that feels right for them. We are always searching for a better degree of health aren't we? It never seems to be just about those skinny jeans. Our glowing health is the true reward.
Let's truly have a December to remember!

Oooooohhhhh so excited to have team members joining me for the challenge. I think the first week was the hardest and it seemed to get easier from there. So hang in there. She always encourages modifications.2

@kirsten11872 wow that is quite the December intro! congrats very happy for you!2

@Mrsbell8well I to want to try the yoga with Adrienne for 30 days. May not be any good at it cause I've never done yoga, but I want to give it a shot. If I keep up with the Christmas Calendar Event work outs and the yoga & get my steps. I'll succeed with a pretty active December!4

Hi everyone,
My name is Irene and I currently live in Denmark. I was born in the Netherlands, but have also lived in the US and the UK. I moved to Denmark in 2012.
I joined F2F last year November, but started my weight loss journey on September 6th last year, with a weight of 282.6. I took a break from weight loss during November, but I'm back now and have had a good couple of days. On Wednesday, my weight was 214.7 lbs and has already gone down since then.
I use CI/CO, and I use my Fitbit to determine my calories out, which I then use to determine my calories in. I found that my Fitbit is quite accurate in determining my calories burnt, so this works really well for me. That also means that if I want to eat something extra during the day, I have to work for it!
Have a great day/ evening!7 -
On track today except work's Christmas party. Hopefully I will show some restraint and dance most of it off. Wish me luck I am going in.3

@lenka1 sounds like your routine is going well for you. 10 pounds in 6 weeks is awesome! Your hard work is paying off. Looking forward to having you on our team!
@bbcbw Wow! You may be my furthest away MFP friend. As a mom with two young children I am sure you are a lot busier then you are letting on! Lol! Welcome to our group!
@amsandos-welcome Anne-Marie! You have been so successful so far. You can get to that goal. Life always throws us some curve balls and we just have to learn to work around it. One of my struggles. I am happy you are in our group!
@mandi5512 you are my younger self! Lol! I had 4 children in 41/2 years but then a 5th 4 years later (3 girls, 2 boys). We are also the same height and gained almost the same amount of weight I wish I had found MFP back then. Learn from me. Make sure you make yourself a priority. You don’t want to be 52 trying to still get your pregnancy weight off! It is so awesome that you have lost 30 lbs! Great job! I am glad you are here.
@phoebe112476 Wow! You are an inspiration! You have made amazing progress since that light switch turned on! Welcome to our group!
@carlsoda You already know I am happy you are here and I am happy to learn more about you then just your step count lol!
I am trying hard to be an empty nester but they won’t leave! Lol! I have a 24 yo son, a 22 year old daughter and an 18 yo daughter still with us. The last two are still in college. One commutes. I guess we should let them stay
Welcome to our group!

Daily check in for: Friday
logged- no but I was on track or under. I will explain below.
water- 64 oz.
Exercise & steps: No and 6311. I will explain below
Still need to get my string going...
So, yesterday DID NOT go as planned. As some of you know, my Mother is in an independent living facility in Florida(her choice, she refused to come by her children) and is on the waiting list to go into the assisted living. She has a caregiver that is helping while we wait. Well, my Mom is being difficult and refusing care. I have been working with her caregiver and her doctors but she is just giving us all a hard time. It is very upsetting and frustrating. Most of yesterday I was on the phone. Thank goodness my brother is going down Tuesday so I made peace with the caregiver and begged her to stay with us. Sadly my Mom is old and has dementia but she has always been a mean and difficult person so I am not surprised that it is even worse with her aging. I just hope we can get the caregiver to stay and get my Mother to be more cooperative. I really wish she was by me but that isn't happening. We had a lot of stuff going on the spring and summer with her and I was really stressed and put a lot of weight on. That can't happen again. By the time I got that straightened out, if it was a normal day I could have still exercised and got my steps in. However, I had a retirement party at 6pm so I had to get ready and get out. As I was getting ready, my daughter in college called crying that she didn't feel well. She goes to a local college so I asked her if she could give me a couple of hours to get myself ready, go give my friend a hug at her party and head over. Turns out she isn't really very sick, she is getting over a broken heart and wanted to come home. Which is still ok, but she better not let it interfere with exams. So that is why no exercise and low steps. I just simply didn't have time to log my food. I ate as I planned just didn't enter. I had nothing at the party, not even a drink so that was good. My friend is doing her last 2 twelve hour night shifts tonight and tomorrow night so I am going to meet her for Monday breakfast if she can get the person who she carpools with to agree. She is a friend too so I am sure she will if she isn't busy. Don't ask why they had the party before she retired, I think it was scheduling...
Sorry this was so long but I am really sick about my Mother. If my brother wasn't going down I would be booking a flight now. It is just so hard being far away. I know a lot of you can relate and are going through the same thing with either your own parents or in laws.
ON A POSITIVE NOTE- I lost 5.4 pounds in November! It is funny how motivating that is! Good and bad. I don't want my motivation to be purely from the scale but I am going to take that motivation anyway! So today-exercise, shower, put on a comfy outfit, put on some Christmas music and start decorating! I usually have a few glasses of wine but this year I am going to have some peppermint tea instead(thanks @Mrsbell8well ) It even sounds inviting to me, I won't even miss the wine.
@dananananas. Nice loss! Hope you are feeling better
@fireryvixen good job maintaining!
@cyndiesstuff. Sounds like you’re off and running! I just paid my kids who are looking for cash to finish up the last of my fall cleaning. Hope you have a wonderful weekend
@eyesopennow. I think every time you post you crack me up! I am glad you are here! I had a good November so I am with you. I am taking that momentum to get through December
@mari_moulin I love this idea!! What a great challenge!
@lenka1. Hope you feel better soon! I am so glad you are jumping right in! Sounds like a great plan for the day! I also will be decorating but it takes me days! Ugh!
@kirsten11872 OMG!!! If I cursed I would say OMFG!! Awesome!!! Guess you don’t have to pay your WW fee anymore! Great job! You have worked hard and it shows!
@ihp2015. I missed you! I am glad you are back!
@amsandos great start to Dec!!
@Mrsbell8well I can't commit to the yoga but I am going to try. It just depends on my vertigo issue. I really want to be able to do it!
