    So glad for this group. Made a commitment to increase my exercise. My issue has been (besides some lack of motivation) finding time to fit in the work out I have planned. But today I committed to 10 minutes on the yoga mat. As predicted I could only fit in 19 of the 34 minutes on the yoga work out video I had planned. But I got those 19 minutes in! I have to remind myself not to let great become the enemy of good. Normally, I would put it off all day waiting "until I have time" and then at 10pm be so exhausted I just go to bed. Even I can find 10 minutes to commit to some brief exercise.

    Hoping to find 10 minutes tomorrow too and then maybe I can finish the rest of the 34 minutes.

    Ok. I think there is some confusion as to the steps. we have the challenge steps where the 10 team members picked
    @sleepymom5
    @ihp2015
    @Shirin_k
    @Lenka1
    @Carlsoda
    @Mrsbell8well
    @cyndiesstuff
    @eyesopennow
    @nstephenson01
    @ljdanny
    go to the thread https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10710064/december-2018-step-challenge#latest and post their steps daily.

    Then, in addition to that, every team member can but not required, on their weigh in day, give us their step count for the week and we will track it for them on the weight loss spread sheet.

    Tuesday tracking
    Food under by about 400.

    I ate a lot today but I also went to the gym. I have been training to run a sub 30min 5k before the new year but have been struggling to fit everything in. I don't think I am going to make it but I will keep trying until I run out of time.

    Activity 712

    Water do much water it tested my post motherhood bladder!

    There were cupcakes at school yesterday and today and I did not have any. Big win for this girl. I have been doing really well with getting up at 415 to exercise. I decided not to today because I was going to my Zumba class tonight. I know I can exercise twice in a day but my bed said no way. I have been logging my food so hopefully I will see the scale budge a little this week. Took my son to the Dr today to have his colosotmy bag checked, they said when he comes back in January they will give him a date for February to have surgery to remove it. Very happy mom. He wanted this month but it hasn't been enough time. Tomorrow we have the hand checked.

    @jedaschultz You are off to a great start in December. It is fascinating to see that we can still focus on health and lose those pounds even when we see a different story all around us. That is why I love this group. Like minded individuals encouraging and motivating each other.
    @twyla77 It may sound counter intuitive but eating more can actually help you budge that scale. I noticed when I make an effort to eat more salads and vegetables the scale seems to reward my efforts. But everyone is right...you keep it up and you will see a big loss next week more in likely.
    @Mandi5512 so sorry to hear about the sick kiddos. That makes life hard for everyone. Make sure you are taking care of your health as well!
    @code4food welcome to the loser circle. Many are off to a great start this December. My weigh in is tomorrow. Hoping to join you in the celebrations!
    @jbfitnss67 appreciate your great positive attitude! Welcome to our winning team!

    Thank you for the warm welcome @Mrsbell8well. And I hope to stay just as inspiring to you as each of you are to me!!!

    Good evening everyone!

    Lots of posts today! :)

    I had a great day, I really killed it today ha that’s why tomorrow I’m taking a nice rest day...

    We went to schools Christmas program and my cookies won the most festive category ha :) I was happy lol I like competing:)
    We brought home a pound of cookies (it’s a cookie walk donation thing. You get a box, grab stuff you want and they will weigh it, money goes to families in need in our parish) I managed just to smell all of them lol and made my husband take small bites and tell me how they are lol it somewhat satisfied my appetite lol way to go me haha

    @jbfitnss67 another great day for you. And your posts are always very inspiring.

    @ljdanny nice you were able to stay away from junk!!! Everything counts.

    @CassieGetsFit2013 aww cute sweater and the doggie too :)

    @Lyssysho26 big hug to you! I really hope you feel much better soon. :( I’m glad you’re seeing the dr and therapist, I hope they will be able to help you. Have you been able to identify your depression triggers?

    @Mandi5512 another nice day and glad your boys are getting over the bug!

    @lennoncpa that’s me too! I can’t eat sweets at moderation. I gave them up completely til I reach my goal weight.

    @phoebe112476 even if it’s just 10 mins it still counts!

    @Mrsbell8well that’s awesome you’re off sugar! How long? Has it been easy for you?

    @carlsoda Aww a hug to you! I see you can definitely relate. Hope you’ll get to go see your home country and family soon enough.

    @nstephenson01 great hike and step count!

    @eyesopennow your soup post made me laugh lol your wife sounds like a funny person

    @cyndiesstuff nice day yesterday 13k steps :)

    Well Thank you my friend. But my day seems pale to yours by comparison. But I am so grateful to have teammates such as yourself that I find to be so motivating for me. You are a Blessing @lenka1!!!

    @cyndiesstuff,
    Thank you for your kind words. While the workout portion seems to be going OK however,my nutrition is desperately suffering. I am embarking on a new approach to this lifestyle change and I will be tracking much more frequently starting in the morning.
    As for the weight training, I have been an athlete all of my life. In fact, sports were my life in every aspect possible. So, my understanding of how to train the body is somewhat second nature.
    Once again, I am so appreciative of all of your support!!!!

    What a long day! I am heading to bed. I will check in tomorrow!

    @Mrsbell8well Those little spells of vertigo are better. I think it was my glasses. I got a new prescription and it hasn’t happened. I do get positional vertigo too. I can’t lie flat, look upwards too long and other head positions or I feel sick. I usually just avoid doing anything that makes me feel sick. I drive the dentist crazy. Lol! My brother just went down tonight so I will know more tomorrow. I don’t think it is going to be good though. I will definitely post some picks of my Christmas decorations. I love your foto Friday idea!

    @ihp2015 I am glad you are doing well!

    @kirsten11872 sounds like a good plan to do DVDs to make up for the gym. I bet you will still do good this week!

    @bmaison2014. Nice loss! Glad to see you checking in! We are here if you need us!

    @phoebe112476 I have a problem with procrastination. I want to get into the habit of exercising first thing and then it is done. I just can’t seem to stick with it. Great job on the yoga today!

    @cyndiesstuff I like all of your name suggestions! Lol!

    @Mrsbell8well Another good one. Or maybe PC in DEC

    @amsandos that would be a very fast 5k! I hope you can make it! Keep trying! And I can relate to the water and bladder issues lol!

    @lennoncpa What a good way to form new habits! I like that you are doing one per month. That’s hard enough let alone making a bunch of changes at once! You’re doing great!

    @Mandi5512 Glad your children are doing better. You are doing great!

    @Lyssysho26 Just check in when you can. This is supposed to be helpful, not overwhelming. You have been doing great. Try to keep it going! Hugs!

    @CassieGetsFit2013 Omg! Esmae looks so cute snuggled on her sweater! Hope you had a good day!

    @ljdanny great restraint with the cupcakes!! You have been doing awesome! Good news for your son! I hope good news at the hand doctor too!

    @jbfitness. I love your straight forward attitude. You're words are so true! Great job today!

    @lenka1 another great day! I am not surprised your cookies won! Your lights outside are so beautiful!

    LONG day and I am beat. Made it to 3,791 steps. I wasn't even at 2k around 3-4PM so didn't think I'd make it to 3k at all, but almost made it to 4k. Went to Target with my Clinician, haven't been out with her much, but recently she has been "kidnapping" me more since I'm walking better and better each day. She tried getting to me to buy something, but I wouldn't. Known each ither for almost 3 years and I haven't ever bought anything while with her...I don't even do it with family, I get to much anxiety going through check out, but would like to be able to some day. I hope...Cooked my Sister a Birthday dinner and we had ice cream cake...With some family. I waited ALL day and included a small piece in my calories! Dinner was good, cake was good, had my night meds, now hope to get some good sleep, been having some crazy or bad dreams, let's just hope they stay away tonight. Goodnight all. Hope everyone had a good day.

    That is beautiful! We do more and more each year, but nothing that great! I will post pics once we get ours up and my street usually goes in the paper because of how everyone decorates so crazy, cars come from all over town to drive down the road looking at all the lights. Neighbors connect their lights to each others. It's really cool to see! I REALLY wanna hire someone some year to decorate our pine tree in the front. It's like a giant Christmas tree and I think it would for sure be a major attraction.

    Day 7 in my string

    Yesterday.... hmmm. it was a good day. was on track. one of my favorite clients died. spend the day consoling grieving family and processing estate paperwork. its always sad when a client dies but i am always happy that i am able to help make things a little easier.

    @Mrsbell8well In our rural area, in the winter they open the schools certain nights for school walking. it is really quite fun. rainbow unicorn poop bath bombs? lol what a crack up!! i may post a pic on foto friday!!

    @sleepymom5 Day 2 in your string! thats awesome. keep working. the more good days you can string together the better your results will be!!

    @Ashleigh1178 yes! i am glad you are back. you can totally lose 6 pounds. take it one day at a time. how did you do today?

    @phoebe112476 yay! nice loss. keep up the good work. I love your quote, "don't let great become the enemy of good." thats how i started. a few minutes at a time. in the beginning i found it very hard to even find 5 minutes. but now, almost 2 years later, it is just what i do. it's like brushing my teeth, i just do it. so i am proud of you for carving out that time for yourself, you deserve it.

    @Shirin_K it does feel good to be on track and doing what you need to to be healthy. take a mental picture of the great feeling so that you can use it to meditate with. it really helps to retrain the mind.

    @pacsnc6 wow! your day sounds amazing. look at the new you go!

    @nstephenson01 I love your tip. Don't forget to schedule that yoga tonite!!

    @eyesopennow lol. just eat the soup. be very careful! especially if shes growling. lol you crack me up!

    @carlsoda you are rocking it this month so far. look at the new you go, yoga and steps. awesome. and putting the treats in the freezer is a great idea. then you have to really think and plan it if your going to eat it.

    @lennoncpa I am so glad you got that scale. i use mine all the time. i have gotten really good at eyeballing it! i play a game called guess how many ounces or grams. and then check to see how close i was. good job at stacking your goals. breaking up a big goal into smaller more manageable ones is a perfect way to be successfull.

    @lenka1 first your licking chocolate then your huffing the baked goods! lol. i can just see you! lol. 82 minute jog? i would be dying on the side of the road. carefull having the hubby eat what you can't. you will make him fat!! your house is beautiful.

    @ihp2015 isn't our december thread rockin? so much wonderful participation. Super nice loss for the first week back! how are you doing getting back into the lose weight mind frame? are you finding it difficult? or just like a good old habit, you just pick up where you left off?

    @kirsten11872 you are going to have killer thighs and buns of steel, working on that elliptical all the time!!

    @bmaison2014 woooo whoooo. nice loss. onederland is being good to you. keep it up girl.

    @amsandos you are doing wonderful. it is okay to eat alot if you work out alot. just as long as you calories do not add up to more than your tdee! I am not a runner. my pain condition wont let me. i use to run distance in high school. ohhh soooo long ago.

    @Mandi5512 sounds like hubby is starting to cramp your style. lol you had a good day. you are doing great!\

    @Lyssysho26 man depression sucks! hang in there. i am glad you are going to see your doctor about meds. if gotten right, they can really help. i will be praying you find your answer.

    @CassieGetsFit2013 lol. your puppy is sooooo cute. look at him there in his little sweater. all comfy. Situational anxiety is hard to over come. baby steps. you are doing great. and look at the new you use your skills to stay on track with her healthy life style. you planned your desert!!!! yes.... NSV.

    @ljdanny That is a wonderful nsv. noooo cupcakes. look at the new you go. you have certainly put your new skills t work. awesome

    @jbfitnss67 you words are very wise. by the way you speak you can tell you have been in the fitness industry for a long time. being smart about how the body works is so important. you are a valuable asset to our team. you say you will be tracking much more often. what does that mean to you? make a commitment. make a smart goal. i want you to be successfull so jump in and say this is what i am going to do.

    @twyla77 Yes nsv. long walk by the river is awesome. being close to nature does something good for the soul and is great for your heart!

    @DananaNanas our thread is soooo busy! come on in. read a few pages and introduce yourself. don't worry about being behind. how are you feeling?

    Day 3 in my string

    Another good day yesterday! Today I have to get a lot done around the house and exercise and then I am going to have a nice afternoon. I am getting my nails done and then shopping, fun shopping not food shopping! I am meeting a friend for dinner and since it is in a cute shopping area, I am heading out early so I can get some Christmas shopping in. Dinner may be a problem. She wants to go to PF Changs. I have never been there but I sounds like high calories and sodium. I am so glad my weigh in day isn't tomorrow. I am thinking of bringing a yogurt or protein bar with me to eat before. I don't want to be starving. I am also going to look at the menu but I have glanced it over and it doesn't look promising. I may order an appetizer for my meal. I saw a lettuce wrap. The menu has calories too so that is good. I remember when that used to annoy me! Lol! This will be a good test for portion control too!
    Ok! Time to get out there! Have a great day everyone!!

    I rolled a 2 today-I am going to try to post the link later as it is getting hard to dig through the posts to get to it. #2 is to hit my water goal. That will be easy. That is one thing I don't have a problem with.

    I am falling behind with the advent calendar. I have to catch up with that today and get back on track.

    @CassieGetsFit2013 I love how you have been stepping outside of your comfort zone lately.
    I am glad you have someone to help you with that. I am sure it is not something you enjoy at all but it is a necessary step and you are doing it! Sounds like you had a good day yesterday. Keep it going!

    @ihp2015 Awesome loss! You got right back on track!!

    @cyndiesstuff that is an important job. I remember being happy that went smoothly when my dad passed. Nothing else seemed to but it was a relief when that was over with!

    @Mrsbell8well Great loss! Almost in the 160s! You must be on cloud 9! All your hard work is paying off!! Almost time for another pic too! I love you take them every 5 lbs!
