Hello Keto family, First Sunday is back its time for the Check-In. After Up and Downs from past two weeks, my scale is down happy for it. Frankly never bother too. Entered into Two digits this is least I have seen from a past couple of years. Just enjoying the meals and fasting.

Yesterday was 159. I worked out, had rice with my dinner, and am starting my period, so not surprised by being 160 this morning. My plan for this week is to keep working out and eat well, and stay off the scale until closer to Friday (nothing good comes from stepping on the scale for the next few days). I was 158 on Thursday and Friday, so I think that's closer to what I am... 20 pounds to go.
January was a bit of a wasted month for me for weight loss, and that's my fault. I overate and definitely indulged a bit too much. On the plus side, I didn't gain anything (158-161 is within a normal fluctuation for me), but I am looking forward to being back on track.
My goal is to get to the mid-150s (154-156) by the end of the month. Doesn't seem like much, but I'm a slower loser, and when it comes to weight-loss goals, I'd rather exceed a modest one than be disappointed. I IF'd four times this past week (16 hours), and am doing so today until Superbowl time (will end up being circa 19-20 hours).

Protein restricted fast yesterday. Worked pretty well. Wouldn't want to do it again anytime soon. Ketorade worked great to keep me properly hydrated during that 23 hour stretch.

2/4/2019- 2.4 lbs lost! Everyone is doing GREAT. I feel like February is the worst month when you decide to start the new year right. Just gotta keep your thoughts and actions focused, and it will be worth it!

So I was off the bandwagon for most of Dec 2019. I was away in France and celebrating the holidays with loved ones. I put back on about 10lbs (of the 26 I’d lost) and have lost nearly 4 of those lbs so far this year doing lazy keto (no food tracking and letting some bad carbs sneak their way in).
This month I’m doing a true keto reboot and going back to logging EVERYTHING to help avoid all those sneaky carbs that have been slowing my progress.

It’s taken me 4 solid months to lose 18lbs! That’s less than a lb/week! I just keep telling myself that there’s more to this than meets the eye. My body is healing on the inside.4 -
I was “Breaking Bad” this Superbowl week. Too many temptations and too little discipline did me in. Not too much scale damage though, only 1.6 lbs to the bad side. Not to worry. I’ll be more disciplined this week.
This will be week 2 of breaking my caffeine habit and substituting that habit with CBD and cod liver oil. I think I have been sleeping a little better and my joint/arthritis pains have subsided. It is hard to tell whether those affects are due to the oils or the fact that I’m no longer doing daily exercise (recovering from shoulder surgery).
I’m going to continue my oil regime for the rest of Feb. I feel I’m recovering well. Eating intuitively is still working for me too, despite my gain this week. I really feel like I’m hitting my stride in this keto WOE. Even though my shoulder is not 100%, I feel like I’m headed in a good direction. Keto has allowed me to stay focused on my health in ways I haven’t been able to prior to finding keto.

I started Keto and this group on March 1st, 2018, almost one year ago. I lost 25 lbs in about 3.5 months. I was very relaxed over the summer but managed to lose another 5 lbs by October. I have been gaining and losing that last 5 lbs since Thanksgiving of last year. An old friend recently moved in with us while he navigates the end of his marriage so the dynamics of our house has shifted, but in a very wonderful and welcome way. However, every Sunday in January came and went with a slap on the head somewhere around Tuesday realizing I forgot to weigh-in. I also wasn't logging food. This doesn't work for me when I'm trying to lose weight. It's okay for maintenance (maybe) but while I'm trying to lose weight, logging is crucial to my success. On February 1st, I gave up 3 things: Caffeine, Dairy, & Alcohol. I feel great and it hasn't been as hard as I thought. I'm back in Ketosis and I've lost 3 lbs in 5 days. I'm also resuming some of the Liver Cleansing concoctions I was doing when I first started. Blended Greens, Lemon juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, etc... Liver cleansing seems to catapult my efforts into overdrive. My goal is to have the same success this spring that I had last spring, nearing ever closer to my goal weight and fitness.
Keto isn't just about the weight loss though. When I'm in Ketosis my brain is a well-oiled machine, my attitude is easy and positive, my joint pain is significantly less, and I feel a sense of calm, control, and excitement. Also, my rather small (yet smiley) eyes seem to get larger. It's easy to slip out of Ketosis and still be making smart food choices that don't lead to weight gain but it's not quite the same. Whenever I'm in Ketosis I remember how wonderful it is and all the benefits it brings. It's a game changer!!

Stormy said – “What she said!” I’m with you EggFoo. We are same-same buddies on the keto WOE, losing the same pounds over and over and trying different things to improve our health. I too am on a caffeine/alcohol sabbatical. Not brave enough to go no dairy yet. Cheese and butter still make my world go-round.

A bit of a late check in but ready for Feb! I’m proud of my progress so far, but my biggest struggle is daily temptations at work, “Hey, we’re grabbing Vietnamese, you in?!”
Ack, that one is a particularly hard one to:
a) say no to
b) find something Keto friendly once I have failed at point a above!! 😩
I did decide to buy some Keto strips and tested negative for two days and then yesterday had a trace reading. It did encourage me even though I think I could already tell the physical signs it just gave me a bit of validation.
