NOW LETS HAVE SERIOUS TRASH TALKING AND SOME SERIOUS FUN.

Let's start with who will be interested in participating in this? Who ever participates would need to keep track of their steps and water for the week or we could have people post daily here. Not sure what you all would want to do. Our baseball team may need a break for this challenge. Lol! Just post if you are interested or not. I am not sure how the weight in going to work as we all have different weigh in days. I actually don't understand about the spread sheets or anything else but we can start figuring out our team and keeping track of water and steps lol!

I’m Nancy, 49, married, with two Brittany Spaniels. Seven years ago, my husband and I chose to quit the rat race, 12 hour days and brutally long commutes to move from California to Montana for a simpler, more rewarding life. The trade off for this lifestyle is that my husband works on long term construction projects that take him away from home for extended periods of time but he loves what he does. So… happy husband… happy marriage LOL. My methods of coping with the relocation and a number of challenging events led to a big weight gain.

    My Stats:
    Height: 5ft 8in
    Highest weight: 220.5 on 12/29/2016
Lowest weight since joining MFP/F2F: 171.4 on 4/25/19
    CW: 173.8
    GW: TBD

I lost almost 50 pounds by making small, sustainable changes and then I stalled out. Initially I wanted to lose weight so I would no longer hate the way I look in the mirror and in photos, have the strength and stamina to perform chores necessary when ya live remotely on 25 acres and, lastly reach a weight that’s easy to maintain. I’ve achieved all those. For probably the last 10 years all I wanted was to get back to 175. Once I finally reached 175 I wasn’t entirely satisfied and wanted to lose a bit more. The reasons & goals for losing the first 50 lbs aren’t the same reasons for the next 10-15. I didn’t figure that out on my own… I had to be told (thanks PNP). So I need to get rid of the rusty tools in my toolbox and get some new ones for the next phase of my journey.

I actually like to exercise and eat mostly healthy. But I have a voracious appetite. I’m either hungry or thinking about the next meal… or both! I don’t understand folks that forget to eat!

    So for May:
    - Just lose some weight. Basically, weigh less at the end of May than at the beginning, no matter how little.
    - Really work on this hunger and overeating problem. I’ll never truly be successful until I can gauge my hunger, eat for only the right reasons and stop when I should, not when I want. You can't out-walk your mouth!!

Wishing everyone a successful May!! Go Team!!

Oh... @sleepymom5 while answering questions in her recent Facebook Live session, PNP mentioned a podcast where she specifically discusses weigh ins... its # 107. Give it a listen... its helping me not to live & die by the scale.

@twyla77 I am sure that is because it's your TOM. Great job hitting your gym goal this week! Are you going to try for that again this week? I like the push up challenge too, that it takes you gradually into a push up. Some challenges start off easy and then they have you doing a ridiculous number of whatever the challenge is by the end. I bet the wall push ups are building up your strength before you get to the floor. It's also nice you are doing it with co workers. I would imagine that would make it fun.
@hope002 @Julie8468 Thank you for joining the challenge! I thought the baseball people would want a break Lol!
@cassiegetsfit2013 I will put you on the cheer squad since you seem to have so much going on. Please listen to your psychiatrist and do what you need to do to get better even if you don't want to. I will keep you in my prayers. Hugs!
@nstephenson01 Your May goals are exactly what I need to do too. Thanks for the podcast suggestion. I am going to listen to that tomorrow!

@sleepymom5 yep, i’m aiming for 3 gym visits this week - already have my gym clothes laid out ready to go for tomorrow morning!
@nstephen01 you’re so lucky to live in Montana! Montana is my favorite place to visit, and i’m thankful that Alberta is so close because we can just hit the road and go fairly quick & easy. We’re heading to Troy, MT on the 18th to explore the area - we heard there’s a really good motorbike bar there and that was a good enough reason for us to decide to make the trip lol.

Hello! After a very busy weekend I finally have a chance to check in!

I'm 54, 5'4" and currently at 145 lbs. I live in Minnesota, am married, work full time, commute 50 minutes 1 way to work (so I don't have to live in the cities) and am almost an emptynester. Just one child (albeit adult but acts like a 15 yo) at home :) and my cat! We also have SIX grandchildren - all under 5 and they are all precious yet so uniquely different from each other.

I've participated in WW's a few times, but just never really worked for me. I was always too hungry. Back in 2016 I started Atkins and boy did it work well. I got down to 137 lbs and felt and looked great. I added more carbs back into my diet and gained some weight back. Luckily not to my highest. Now I'm slowly working my way back down again. Ultimate goal is 137 lbs. By the end of May I will be very happy if I can get to 143 lbs.

    Weekend check in:

Food - weird as we had multiple events
    Water - tried my best
Steps - struggled to get them in

Busy busy weekend! Niece graduated from College so we spent Saturday visiting, sitting around eating and drinking coffee but took a walk around town. Sunday my grandson who has surgery on Tuesday was baptized. Again more sitting around after church, ate brats and chips. Oh well what can you do when it's out of your control. We did get home at 4:00 so I quickly threw a frozen roast beef in my instant pot and had a lovely delicious meal with a big salad. Today I am back on track!

Now...time to work! Hope everyone has a wonderful successful day!

    Daily Check in: Sunday
Food: Better than Saturday but ate when I was not hungry and ate past full
    Water: 36 oz
Exercise and steps: 30 minute walk 8537 steps

so I spend the day at the hospital yesterday. moms heart is lots better but her stomach, digestive track, and mental state are not. I am exhausted. still waiting to hear from counseling. I promise today to do the small things. I have made my plan, I will drink my water, I did my 30 minute walk and I will get in my steps. above all I will eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. if time allows I will do some serious journaling on my reason why. without a clear reason why, success is futile.

@Mrsbell8well you have done amazing. I am so proud of how hard you have worked and continue to work. you have taken tenacity to an all new level. proof that if you figure out your why you can accomplish great things. you are a very gifted and talented human being. i love your weekly focus list. it is a wonderful thing for helping you keep on track. it is a constant remind that change is continual.

@sleepymom5 you need to stop beating yourself up girl. you do not have a thick skull. look how you figured out that new job. what makes this more difficult is that you have all those old habits to break. you know what to do, and just keep going. i would really like it if this week you worked on saying kind words to yourself. i am going to keep reminding you of this. it is an important part of creating the new pam!! i have to try and figure out this new challenge. lol. why must we be rocket scientists!!

@twyla77 ohhh girl and you are right. Life happens and we need to take care of ourselves anyway. i am so glad that you are learning maintenance. i know how difficult it is first hand. i would be very interested in the things you are leaning. please share with us. because after all that is the ultimate goal. to live in maintenance. and ohhh yeah 30 day push up challenge. you rock girl! and that's just a baby gain. we are going to nip that in the bud in may!!

@CassieGetsFit2013 i am sad that you are leaving but truly understand that your mental health needs to come first. rehab may be a great answer. i know my oldest son is in a 90 day treatment program. he is learning so much and is so much better. don't be afraid to try something new. xo my friend, and remember, you can always come here and chat if you need a listening ear.

@nstephenson01 so i don't think you have ever told us. do you pups look like you or hubby? my pooch looks like jim for sure!! except for the spotted tongue!! and we have a great team here and together we will figure this out. you are not alone in figuring out your new why. maybe that should be this weeks team challenge.

@Julie8468 and trust me, we just won't "let you quit" you are to important to our team. i totally understand the emotional aspect of your struggles with weight. sometimes i will be blunt but it given in love. learning a new way to live your life if hard but with tenacity and perseverance it can be done. i am glad you are with us.

@bmaison2014 last weeks weight was 205. but don't you worry about that. spend some time today, making a plan. did you do the 4 circle challenge. it is really helpful. what will you do today? write it down. lets start building the momentum in may!!

@gottagetthisdown ohhh yea that is a nice loss. keep up the hard work.

@carlsoda omgosh, six grand children. you lucky woman. you are very close to maintenance. have you figured out a plan for it? love your input. thanks for being part of our team. we had roast beef yesterday too. it was soo good.

    Daily check in: Sunday
    Food: Logged, over
    Water: 80 oz
Exercise and steps: JessicaSmithTV strength training, 2 short dog walks; 9,843 steps

For this week's challenge, should we post our water and steps in our daily check-in? Whatever is easier for you @sleepymom5 and @cyndiesstuff. I didn't even participate in the baseball challenge and it was overwhelming LOL. With everything you both do keeping us motivated and on pace, I wish these challenges weren't so complicated for captains to track.

I was over on calories for the weekend but it was planned and I enjoyed every bite. Time to get serious... food and exercise planned out for the next couple days.

@cyndiesstuff you give us all such good advice. Take time to be kind to yourself girl. Ha ha... I don't think the dogs look like either of us. Maybe the mailman was involved. LOL
@julie8468 I had no idea you've been through so much. You have been so helpful and you're such a great member of this team. No quitting this time around.
Nice loss @gottagetthisdown on a monday even.
@carlsoda oh hey another Instant pot'ter. I love mine so much I got a second one for our RV
@twyla77 Good luck with the pushup challenge. That sounds like a good one... I hate pushups but they're so good for the upper body. We're practically neighbors!! Have you checked out the suspension bridge over Kootenai Falls? Its between Troy and Libby.

so... lets make the check ins for this challenge a separate post so that it is easier for @sleepymom5 and I to find. like this:

    Day:
    Steps:
    Water:

and then at the end of Saturday, we will take you weight loss from the week one spreadsheet and add it to your water and steps for the week for your totals.

    So we need sundays today.
