@BonnieHosk85 it IS most likely a combination of sodium and just plain physical volume moving through your gut. Remember .... it take 3500 calories PER POUND ABOVE MAINTENANCE to truly metabolically gain a pound of fat. That just plain cannot be done overnight.
I'm at the beginning of losing some regained weight, and I'm the opposite of Bonnie right now, my weight is dropping inexplicably. Based on the math I know only a fraction of it can be body fat. It has to be those same things you list (but in reverse obviously), no water retention and less volume of food moving through. I try to remember that in the short term at least, it's adhering to the process that I should be celebrating, not day to day scale readings. This challenge helps with that.2 -
This is where some kind of trending app can be very valuable. I know that fitbit dashboard comes with one .... and there are stand-alone ones for both iOS and Android. (if you search "weight trending apps" on the message board, the names of the most common ones will surface)1

how does one syncronize a fitbit to MFP? do I need the app? (currently I have fitbit synced to my tablet, and habitually use the website for MFP)
Can I UN-sync them later if I wish?
I am kinda nervous that once I sync them ... it will be like when I first started using a digital scale ... I honestly THOUGHT I had been logging accurately up to that point ..... depending on what it shows if the fitbit retro-syncs ... will any of my "3XYesses" to date be in jeopardy?0 -
At dinner last night I was reminded of past mistakes and differences in men and women...
As women we tend to be fair with our partners in food and work. If I make lunch/dinner for my husband I make the same for me and desserts as well. When he works outside as an avid gardener I do the same. Lifting heavy 50# bags of seed, mulch or chicken feed etc. From my equitable behavior I got a triple hernia and could no longer lift heavy items but still split food. After surgery, I resigned to just being weak but soon needed someone to open jars. So since joining MFP I learned 1. to eat for a woman not a man and 2. you can rebuild your muscles but women don't have the strength of a man.
I have been doing weights (3 wks) and I can open my own jars and lift my 65# dog into the tub lol. Baby steps7 -

This morning I needed to stop and get gas on my way into work. I REALLY wanted to run in and grab a doughnut - my favorite gas station for them. But I didn't. I decided to eat the yogurt and blueberries I had waiting for me at work. I finally get to work only to realize I ate the last yogurt already. I'm realizing that I already made the hard decision, and I'll eat a meal bar or something else I have with me and it will be ok. My next planned skip day is next Friday - maybe a doughnut then!7

So, I want to lose 10 more pounds. I've been under my calorie goal (1540) almost every day and have walked either outside or on the treadmill every day during this challenge. This morning my weight was exactly the same as it was on day one. I know this challenge isn't necessarily about losing weight, and I admit that I feel better and my clothes seem to fit differently, but I'm starting to get frustrated that the numbers on the scale are not going down. I'm going to start exercising with some weights, to see if that will affect the weight and also tone my arms and stomach. I'm looking for videos or routines that you all would suggest. I'm 53 years old and basically have no muscles at all...5

Hi everyone,
My class ended on Monday (the day after Mother's Day) and I took a much-needed break, which included "unplugging" from ALL electronics so I could recharge my batteries so to speak. This was a much-needed break. Of course, that also means I took a "pass-day fiesta" and I have disqualified myself - but that is ok because I needed that break.
Break time is now over and its time to continue chasing my goals! And hooray its summertime for me!! (For a month, I am taking a summer class) because my one of my big goals is getting to graduation in December!

Oh, I should add that my "pass-day fiesta" phrase makes me giggle since I remember the post that Craig and Rick have said multiple time that pass-days do not mean we throw caution into the wind.
However, I did somewhat track during my break and have maintained my current weight during this time. No additional weight gain is wonderful!
