Sharing... skip if you want
My childhood best friend mom passed away yesterday. It was a peaceful passing. I was there with the family.
I am an only child and this is the closest I have to a sibling. In the early 80s - my mom had health issues and I would often wake up at her house. She was definitely a second mom.
I’m finding myself listening to Blind Faith “Can’t find my way home” over and over again... guess I feel a little lost right now.
I have held back tears with the family but boy letting them roll right now.
Thanks for being a semi anonymous sounding board. I respect your opinion/support so much.
XO
Peace out for a day or so12 -

Oh Beka, so sorry to read this. How heartbreaking for you. Let those tears roll, grief needs to happen before healing can.
You'll cherish those childhood memories, the special time you spent with this lady yesteday and all the moments in between forever. Share them often with tears or a smile to keep them strong xxx
Take care, be kind to yourself. Hugs to you, your friend and family x2 -

Hi Monday. Are you going to be the 'draw the line's day I need?!
Another crazy busy week but need to find time for me and my food choices......4 -
due today:
@Pamela_Sue
@iamworthy14
I am less than 2 weeks out from my 2nd 1/2.
The man and I are really debating only doing the 5k as we have sucked pretty bad with training.4 -

Ta daa! I began at 264.5 pounds in February, so I have now reached a 40 pound weight loss. I look back over my diet break in July, and my overeating fest in October, and my many maintenance days and over-maintenance days in between, but I am most proud of always coming back to my plan (not always right away) and not giving up. My starting goal was to lose 70 pounds, so I still have another 30 pounds to reach 195 pounds, and then reassess my next goal. Discipline is a hard-earned trait, one I am still working on, but I am beginning to have more confidence that I can get to where I want to go.
Onward and downward!!11 -
Happy Monday, y'all!
The last two weeks have been crazy busy with multiple trips for work and personal stuff. I have no idea how I managed to get a loss last week with all of the restaurant meals. I did manage to run my 4th 5K of the year yesterday. My time wasn't great (not terrible either), but I did finish it.
Thankfully, I'm home for the next few weeks. I'm hoping to get back to my regular eating and working out schedule while also getting caught up on everything that was neglected during the trips.
I hope everyone has a great week!6 -

Congratulations! 40 is such an amazing number. Keep it up you are doing fantastic!2 -
Hi gang!
I have been stopping by to keep up with you while @Beka3695 is taking time out to support her friend and come to terms with the loss of her honorary second mom. Your team is looking good! Three weigh-ins done, and 3.6 pounds lost! All green - our favourite colour.
Congrats @Pamela_Sue on reaching 40 pounds! Next stop - under 200. That will be amazing. It is hard, but you are doing a great job and keeping everything in perspective. It isn't a straight line, there are lots of bumps and curves, but you are getting there. Well done!
And @corporatelawmom - glad to see you'll get some more time at home for a while. I had a crazy on-the-road-all-the-time job for a while, and those periods when things are more or less normal are worth their weight in gold. Enjoy!
@boehle -- give the half a try, even if your training hasn't been perfect! Or at least a 10k . What's the worst that can happen? Of course I'm saying this safe in my seat. But with 2 more weeks to go, I bet you can do more than you think.
@kilobykilo - DRAW that line. Keep coming on in here and tell everyone how it is going! Hope you're hanging in there!5 -
WEEK ONE RESULTS
1st place -- @ngk2000 112,301 steps
2nd place -- @kilobykilo 85,306 steps
3rd place -- @boehle 73,152 steps
GROUP TOTAL 484,178 steps!!!
WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!!
Congratulations to @ngk2000 who managed 40% more steps than the previous week. Great commitment!

So in memory of my Mum, who we said our final farewells to a year ago today, I have registered for my first ever marathon in April 2020. My daughter has joined me. I know this is a mere stroll for many however the picture below (which may offend or disgust) was me in May this year. I do love a challenge!7

Well it is hump day so how are we all doing? Is everyone on target for their goals this week?0

HAPPY HUMP DAY
I am back and in a better frame of mind. The pomp and circumstance is over and now just to settle back into life. My job now is to make sure my friend doesn't fall into a funk. Her husband has said specifically "Especially on the weekend - we have got to keep her out of bed."
I have eaten on the run for the past week and a half. I am dreading the scales Saturday. I am actually glad to be back in my office with a 'normal' routine for a few days.
GOALS FOR TODAY:
No snacking - 3 solid meals is fine! Coffee is ok.
Don't go to bed before 9 PM - my sleep schedule is way off right now
Get some steps in - it is good for the blood flow.
Drink some water - it won't kill me.
Thank you all for being so supportive lately!!! I my F2F Family!!!8
