Hello all,
to end the year well: the final accountability thread for 2019! We all know the drill by now: optionally set some goals, check in as often as you like (some do daily, some do weekly, or whenever you feel like it), and support each other through this -undoubtedly challenging- holiday month!
For me that means:
Height: 176cm (5'9")
SW this month: 66.9kg (147,49lbs) - The highest I've been in months unfortunately, after a 2month stable 66kg weight
MEASUREMENTS
Stomach: 82cm (32,82")
Waist: 75cm (29,53")
Belly: 92cm (36,22")
Hips: 99cm (38,98") - the only thing I'm actually trying to grow isn't budging
GOALS
#1 Get a grip. Been letting it slide a lot, usually when it's free (office treats, dinners). This has to be reigned in, NOW, especially with the free-food month of the year starting.
#2 Try to lose the kilo I gained (including the cm on waist, belly, and thighs)
#3 Do NOT let myself go during the holidays
#4 I've started a powerlifting program because I really want to become stronger. First goal to aim for is being able to do at least 1 actual pull-up (or chin-up if need be).

Goal #1: Enjoy the holiday period without gaining back. => Enjoy mindfully and within limits.
Goal #2: Log it ALL. Every little treat. EVERY one.
Goal #3: Stay positive and patient. With myself and others, especially my partner.
Goal #4: Take more time and space for myself.
01-dec: 72.9 kg
02-dec: 71.9 kg
Bring it on for the last month of the year! I have no clue where the rest of the year went, but here we are. I guess like some others, I want to enjoy the holiday period with all it has to offer but without gaining back. To help this, I’ll do my best to log all I eat to have a reality check on the calories that entered the system. Either I’ll have to do an extra run or stop eating, I guess 😀
Another big point I want to focus on is my emotional well-being. I don’t know whether it was due to the shorter, darker days or having to figure out how to create space for myself after moving in with my man a few months back, but November has seen me a little unhappy and upset with myself and the rest of the world. Before moving in together I used to have some evenings in the week that were dedicated me-time. Something that I didn’t have in a while. And I assume that this is what showed. So, my partner and I agreed to pay a bit of attention to this. I mean, we do things by ourselves like a language courses and sports. At the moment, I don’t have many friends here yet (moved to the city not too long ago and outside uni, I find it more difficult to find like-minded people to make friends with).
Anyway, outside of all of this, we spent almost every waking, free moment together. And I was somehow feeling like losing myself. Does that make sense? Anyway, for some of the empty moments during the week, we started to spend some time in different rooms, or for groceries have only one of us go. Things like this. The hope is that this will create a better balance for both of us. Also, until Christmas, we stopped with alcohol. The only exception may be a dinner in one of our favorite restaurants next Thursday. But even for this, there is a chance that we’ll go without.
To stop the rambling, have a lovely December. Rock the last few weeks of 2019!7 -
@jacau : I completely understand you and I can assure you that it is very normal to want alone-time from your significant other. Good that you've made some agreements about it, before having it out eating at you.2

Goal: get back to maintenance between 69 and 70
1. Keep on logging every day
2. Keep up the push-up challenge (I finally started again, mostly thanks to the perseverance showed by @cayenne_007 !
3. 10.000 steps a day + 2 long walks & 2 dives a week
Ok, so I got a nasty weight number this morning - gained 2 kilos in one week. No suprise there as I've been mindlessly stuffing myself with everything in sight. I even went back to a very old habit to purposefully go to a bakery to get my "fix", aka danish pastries. I didn't have danish in some years, and now the two last weeks I had one every other day + a load of other sweets. I also had seconds, and I've noticed that I just loved feeling "full". Needless to say I haven't been doing well and I need to snap out of it.
I find this the most difficult thing about maintaining. Losing weight is ok (no fun but doable), gaining is supereasy, but somehow maintaining is a balancing act that I don't master (yet?).
This weekend, we'll go to London to do our Christmas shopping with some friends. I'll do my utmost best to eat mindfully, and I hope that the next checkin here will be better.

Thanks. I guess it's also a lesson in somehow "knowing" that it's normal and healthy to take some alone-time and "allowing" it to happen. I have never been good in taking a stand for myself or setting boundaries. It's something that I have been working on over the years. Now with the relationship developing further and further I discover more spots to work on. This was such a patch it seems. Difficult but insightful.Antiopelle wrote: »Ok, so I got a nasty weight number this morning - gained 2 kilos in one week. This sounds quite familiar. It's easy to lose awareness of what goes in and what goes out when not logging it in some form. And brain likes to make us feel good when feeling full. Especially danish pastries. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get out of the loop and be back at maintenance in no time!3 -
Thx for the new thread @I4a_p! I'm trying to grow my 🍑too!! Why won't it stick?! lol
Last month of the year... here we go!
47, 5'2"
SW: 108.2
Dec GW: 108, BF: 19%
GW: 105 BF: 19%
Goal #1: Keep up with 4X a week of OTF
Goal #2: Meal prep more. Utilize Crockpot! Soup season!!
Goal #3: Keep photo records of self... (I've been slacking)
Goal #4: Simplify life. Not stress over things out of my control😉 (getting better at this)
10/1 / 109 lbs, 21.4%, measurements 33.5-27.5-33.5
10/30 108.2, 19.1%, measurements 33.5-27-33.5
11/27 108.4, 19.4% 33.5-28-33.5
12/2 111.0, 20.3% 33.5-28.5-33.5😵😵😵😲
I feel like going backwards. But with the JPN trip and holidays, it shows.
So for the next few weeks, I am going to tighten up my diet and keep up with the workouts. I have been doing OTF 4X week and lifting heavy (sore!) But with all the drinks and desserts, it had bumped up the scale.
For December, I'm going to say NO to desserts and limit my drinks to the weekend.
@jacau, I know that feeling. You just have to find that balance of "me" time and together time. It takes some time but looks like you're starting to manage. Going groceries, workouts, library and time with friends without him is a must for me. You'll get there!

I’m back!!!
With work stress and holidays I have put on 8 pounds! I want to set some goals to have better boundaries with food and emotional eating, but still enjoy social occasions over the holidays (and my birthday)!
Goal 1: Track food (at least on paper)
Goal 2: Run 3x and lift 3x a week.
Goal 3: Preempt holiday food stress by asking keto desserts and meal plans
CW: 157.6 lbs
Dec GW: 155 lbs
GW: 145 lbs5 -
GW 139
CW 141
Goals
1 Log food
2 Restart exercise routine
3 Continue with intermittent fasting
I'm watching too much telly and playing on computer. I took up a new hobby of quilting and that's more sedentary, too. The intermittent fasting has really helped me in the last three weeks. I lost one pound in Nov.
My husband is fit and exercises regularly. But I need my time away from him since we're retired and spend too much time together as it is.

@I4a_p love the thread name!
I only have three weeks to get myself into the best shape possible for our Christmas trip to see family and old friends. I will still only weigh in on Fridays, but I’m going to post more to help me stay focused on my goals:
1. Drink more water
2. Reduce my calories back to losing again
3. Run 3x a week/Strength train 3x a week5 -
Height: 5'10"
GW: 175
Goal 1: Track weekly averages for weight
Goal 2: Go on long walks in the woods every Sunday (2+ hours)
Goal 3: Pushup Challenge
We have a big trip to the Philippines in February and I want to be 165-160 by then. I just need to stay consistent, keep tracking, and change up my exercises so that I keep seeing progress. Just have to stay strong through the holidays!

@jacau - Wow, this sounds familiar. I moved back to my 'home' state about a year and a half ago to be with my boyfriend after living near Fort Worth TX for 20 years... I stay so busy with work, stuff with him & his kids that I've been in a serious funk lately. We had a long talk Wed night about the fact that I need some 'me' time to make an effort to make some girlfriends out here before I go crazy. It's been a huge adjustment to get used to life revolving around kids - he has joint custody of his 11 & 14 year old. I've never had a maternal instinct - I'd prefer to be out at the barn surrounded by kittens, dogs & horses than indoors playing with a baby (it's simply how I'm wired, I'm 42 - not going to outgrow it). I go to all their games etc, but I HAVE to have 1 night a week for just 'me'. And getting used to NM after TX - UGH. It's stepping into a time warp (and I don't mean that in a good way). Half the conversations in this town are in Spanish (which I'm learning, but don't speak).... I get asked on a regular basis from people I've just met why I don't have kids and don't I want some? I miss real towns with good places to get pedi's, wine, HEB, decent concerts.... I'm done whining now... LOL! Bring on Dec!7

@l4a_p - thanks for starting the thread!!!
My biggest goal for Dec - just maintain. I'm pretty bloated today, so I think 142 is a feasible goal for month end.

Feels good to publicly get this in writing!

@cayenne_007 : Adjusting to life with kids sounds like an enormous challenge to take on. I admire you taking it on while still being so busy with everything else! I'm 37 and don't have kids. Never had the drive to have some either. My partner fortunately is quite similar. If it should happen, okay. Though with IUD rather low chances for an accident. I prefer doing sports, reading, motorbiking and enjoying my introvert little bubble. I get stressed out when multitasking. Having kids would be just not fair for them. Life with horses and kittens and dogs sounds quite brilliant on the other hand. I moved from country side to a somewhat bigger city and it still takes some adjustment but I get what you mean with all those things you can do (spontaneously).
This figuring out how to balance stuff to stay sane and asking to be part of the equation as well instead of only giving and giving... I think without starting again to lose some weight and the increase of self-awareness this brings has helped a lot. Together with coming across this group of people here.6 -

Yesterday was a good day. I took my daughter to her dr. appointment, got home early (4:30) so made big dinner from scratch (Quinoa salad with baked butternut squash, kale, green onions and roasted pinenuts, Roasted turkey legs and wings, Mashed potatoes with cauliflower) fed the kids then off to OTF. Worked out hard then home and dinner. My kinda day I wish everyday can be as smooth like this. Oh and on top of that, I WON A GIFT BASKET w OTF's raffle ticket! It had a $100 massage envy gift card in it! I can so use it. Muscles are sore from pushing my weight exercise💪💪💪

Yesterday was a good day, food wise. I was tired from work, so my husband made shrimp tacos on low carb wraps. I didn’t get a chance to squeeze a work out in, but I’m hoping for some weightlifting tonight after work. And... I have new running shoes coming this week! I am so excited!! I haven’t gotten new shoes in 10 months!6 -

I loved frito pie for dinner when I was a kid! My kids love it now too, although I will feed it to them and then make grown up food for myself and my husband
Posting more often helped me out today. I wanted to post earlier but decided to wait because I wanted to report that I ran today -which motivated me to go run. Done!
The day got away from me on Monday, so I didn’t run then. But I did come in way under calories, so I’ll put that in the win column.
I did get to the gym on Tuesday morning, but issues with our rental house sent me into an anxiety spin, so I had half a bottle of wine and some chocolate for dinner. I didn’t go over maintenance calories though, so I’ll still put that in the win column.4
