    The 2019 transformation photos are fantastic! It is so good to see so much change - and yes, @terytha - it shows!!

    No matter what age we are, we can make a big change.

    Well as some know last year was topsy turvy for me. I had pretty tough calcified tendonitis in by shoulder right at beginning of year...
    Still a work in progress, but I lost 22 pounds or 12% of my body weight in 2019.
    If I can do that at age 61 years, you can too! GO FOR IT in 2020 everyone.

    I'm working on it, too and at 62! Calcific tendonitis is such a painful condition. That's the main reason inspiring me to become a Physical Therapist Assistant for my "retirement job" so I don't have to hurt quite so much. Massage Therapy keeps parts of me strong but I need more balanced exercise.
    I'm walking more and plan to get more resilient in the meanwhile.
    We can do this. It'll be fun!

    @Terytha Oh my gosh you certainly can see a difference. Your most recent photo shows your shirt floating on a much smaller you. See if you can get them side by side. Or take a new one each month to compare. Sometimes, it takes the mind’s eye a while to catch up with reality. Body image stuff is weird. But never doubt it. You look amazingly smaller. You are beautiful in both, but much healthier in the most recent. Yay, you. You inspire me and so many others. I know you doubted yourself at first, but you are doing this!!🎉💪🏼🤩 🤗

    Anyone else want to share progress photos. If you’re just starting, take those photos now. You won’t regret it. MFP will even split screen them for you if you add the photos to your progress weigh ins.

    Anyone else with some steps for me? I'd love to get them in our spreadsheet. Do our new members know where to find this information?     Apparently I didn’t move much yesterday because when I checked this morning, I had 2,771 steps for the day. 🤪😂😴 I promise to be better today!!

    My fitbit hadn't synced. I though it seemed low. Steps for 12/31/19 were actually 6,302.

    I begin logging MFP today.
    I need to stop eating my workout calories & snacking. I've done this before, & I can do it again. I have the knowledge, but I need to obey.

    Okie Dokie... Son leaves this afternoon, I said my goodbyes this morning before work, and I also threw away a bunch of candy that was leftover... Ready to get back on this horse... Was not happy with the scale this morning and am totally going to screw up our team numbers when I weigh in tomorrow... BUT I'll make it up to you guys in Jan ;) Have a great day !

    It is probably better to use the higher weight for a start - then you are more impressive after the first week, right? I'll adjust it. BUT, your official weigh-in day is not until Saturday, so if you want to adjust again then, go ahead!

    Good job on logging. It is the biggest help - as long as you also keep the calories from creeping up!

    Sad to say goodbye to your son, happy to say goodbye to that candy and get back on this horse! Don't worry about the team numbers - we have all had a rather rocky December, to say the least. January ALL GREEN, though, right? :smiley:

    Oww. I'm up 7 pounds to 210, and judging by how miserable I am, it's all food weight.

    Add this to my new year's resolutions: get a friggin referral to a gastroenterologist. :(

    @Terytha I know how that feels, but put it behind you and get back on track. You know what to do. You are a pro. Hopefully with eating the right foods that you have figured out, the gastro bit calms down. Sending virtual hugs. Hope you get that referral and feel better soon. ❤️

    Regrettably there is no right food. It's all food. I haven't been able to digest anything without drugs since... July? June or July.

    Normally I can deal, but New Year's was pretty heavy so I'm suffering a bit for it. I just hate the drugs so much. :(

    Thank you @lovethyneighbor for your introduction and your honesty and knowledge of where you are, where you're going, and what you need to do. Even with less exercise than you would like, getting the calories under control will make the biggest difference - even though we LOVE food. I am of the fill the plate with amazing vegetables (usually all cooked together in the same skillet, with a different sauce or seasoning set every day, depending on my mood), some fish or beans (I don't eat meat or eggs much), and minimal grains. Plenty of veggies means you can fill up like mad, eat tons, but not too much fat or grain. Works for me - I would be very sad if I couldn't pile my plate high!

    We will want to hear from you often, and any time there is something more you need for support, questions you have, or whatever - run here first!

    This is always a bit crazy at the end of our challenge month. We open the new one, where you can go and post an introduction, or whatever you want to say at the beginning of the new month. But keep doing your week 5 weigh-ins here, and discussions don't really have to move to the new one until Sunday. We just like to be prepared B)

    thanks @evelynladams527 for your kind words. that is a great goal to do physio work when you are retired! Yes that calcified tendonitis was pretty tough. Luckily they gave me a cortisone shot after a what seemed like 5 days of hell, lol. What a miracle drug it was.

    I am having such a hard time moving on from all the treats. Just when I think it's gone something else pops out of nowhere! Boo

    Ready to say "no thank you" to treats and not use all my exercise calories up on over indulging. If anyone else is struggling right now, I feel your pain. Hang in there and we can do this.
