Trying to do a spreadsheet to figure out what my actual maintenance calories will be once these last 3 pounds are gone. Anyone with advice or examples, please message me. Thanks. (My activity calories are via Fitbit.)7 -
Jan 6. First serious work day of the year.
3 x yes!
After a pass on Sat and a seriously bla day yesterday, I had a pretty good day today, despite a bit of a rough night due to insomnia. Thanks to leftovers and some quick cooking I stuck to healthy meals with lots of fruits and veggies today. After work, I also saw a chiropractor for the first time today to help with my shoulders/neck which need some TLC thanks to desk work and iPosture (she prescribed a weekly massage and biweekly adjustment/PT, which will be covered largely by insurance!) and then went out for an evening walk/run and managed to make roasted sweet potato with leftover dip for dinner after. I normally run without my phone, but here’s a picture from the trail we took on New Year’s Eve...

Did I exercise at least 20 minutes? Yes, and a good deal more as like @davert123 I ate more than I should have, so it was good I had calories "in the bank" so to speak with the extra earned from 85 minutes of exercise today.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, with exercise calories that helped me out.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
@Dory_42 Think I'll pass on the snake.
@craigo3154 So very sorry for all of the fires in Australia, devastation to homes and decimation of the wildlife population. Australia was one of my many favorite destinations in our journey of life.

@craigo3154 Sounds like a scientist did that talk. I'm trained as a scientist but work as a zookeeper and we tend to view things differently. Snakes definitely react differently to some people. We had one big python who was chilled with everyone except one guy, she would strike at him every time he went in the enclosure. And everyone says the one I posted the photo with likes me more than anyone else. I'm normally the one who organises moving him and I trust him not to be aggressive so I don't restrain him. From what I understand, everyone else does which annoys him so he fights to get loose. They definitely have personality though.9

@Dory_42 Gorgeous snake! What is he, a boa? Love your smile. You obviously have the right job!
Exercise: yes, walking for over an hour.
Calories: well under. Went to lunch with a friend and skipped the offer of pie. Pie = at least two hours of exercise, so no thanks. MFP has really educated me.
Tracked: Yes, tracked it all.

yes x3
Ate a lot but also exercised a lot so was under. 11k steps + hour of parkour although I hate that when I take my fitbit off for parkour and then log the hour as "gymnastics" it doesn't give me any steps even though obviously I had way more than 0 for the hour. Oh well. Currently third in my family step challenge as a result...8 -
Today was one of those days when I could have easily skipped cardio but did it because of this challenge and I was glad I did.
On track, and on plan even better than yesterday and I earned 1 hour of cardio in addition to strength training earlier.
Tracked it all including the trail mix of M&Ms, cashews and pistachios.
Yes X3
Zero passes used. Woot.
Have a successful day tomorrow all!8 -
Yes x3. Active day with walking and 3 hours of cleaning.7

Date: January 6
Exercised?: Yes! Got on the treadmill for 25 minutes—1.11 miles.
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Day 6 is done, feeling good!6 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 2 mile treadmill run + 37 minutes of Barre Blend Classic Full Body Blend this morning. I am LOVING these barre workouts -- they are kicking my butt, but are perfect low-impact cross-training for all the high-impact running I do.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!9 -
Yes x3 today, took my kids to the museum and earned well over 10000 steps in the process lol.9

@Dory_42 Hi Dory,
I showed my wife, Rose, your photo with your “Big Boy.” I said, there is a snake in the picture as I passed my phone to Rose. She replied,”There is a snake in the picture? Where???? OOOH MY!!!!”7 -
@victorious55 I’m so glad that you are feeling much better!!!2
-
@pridesabtch I hope that you have recovered from your time on the floor and the blood donation.
I nominate you as the most humorous poster of our January team.
Thanks a bunch!

@yellobird13 Thanks for the beautiful photo of the skyline at the lakeside of sweet home Chicago!!4

My report;
Exercise: 95 minutes of desert hiking
Calories: under by a nice margin
Tracking: good6 -
Exercise: Yes, 25 minutes swimming and 45 minutes walking.
Calories: Yes, under, just, using exercise calories. Must do, can do better! I'm still losing the kilos I put on over the holidays though.
Tracking: Yes, logged everything.
I'm still letting the constant stress with my partner get to me. Back to work tomorrow, should help. In Nice and then Marseille for three days, then a quick turnaround at home followed by three days in Toulouse. I enjoy these trips and they get me away from dealing with Alzheimer's disease.
Lunch with girlfriends today in a Reunnionais restaurant, no idea about the food, so I'll try and stick to veggies or fish and exert portion control ...8 -

@w8goal4life. Thank you for you thoughts.
Its a beautiful country. Fire is a constant Summer threat, but this year has been worse than most (and a lot of political finger-pointing about climate change inaction too, but that does little good). There are areas that have burned that had never been burned out in living memory.
There have also been reported huge losses of life amongst the wildlife. Unfortunately there has also been loss of human life (including experienced fire fighters) which highlights how dangerous these fires can be.
The sheer scale is incomprehensible to a lot of people. The area burned so far this summer is 3 times the size of Wales, or in US terms the size of the entire state of West Virginia.
Fortunately I am a fair distance from some of the major fires (like the distance between London and Paris), but we still get smoke haze from them if the wind is in the wrong direction.
Places will grow back over time, but a lot is lost that will take decades to even semi-recover.8 -
